No headphones, no angry neighbors, play UNPLUGGED and as loud as you want!
Silentstroke™ drumheads are the ultimate in low-volume drumheads, designed for quiet practice applications where standard drumset volumes are an issue.
Remo Silentstroke drumheads with Zildjian L80 cymbals and Razer speakers allow Devon Taylor to play as hard and as loud as he wants on his actual drum set up!

imo that is way cooler than an electronic set.
...and it FEELS right.
...But more expensive
Daily Drum Lesson well its not because it doesnt sound like real drums
this sounds even more fake though
Daily Drum Lesson yeah I don't like electric drums like I do my acoustics not the same feel
Finally they put to make reviews someone who knows how to play
Seb Persini haha yeah it's usually some 59yr old technician doing the review lol
Lol
Nope !!!
1:16-1:19 is what we should all aspire to. Blazing chops that serve the groove. Just beautiful!
Asa Brown --- Yep he made it look effortless and it was a groove rather than a fill.
OK this is sick AF but I'd love to see him do this same track on regular heads/cymbals he's killing it.
he does this track on the drumhouse channel: "Devon Taylor (Justin Bieber) - "What's In Your Heart" by Knower arranged by CJ Thompson"
Weirdly enough, I feel like the tone of these silent drum set actually sounds perfect for this song. I feel like regular drums would have to be EQ'd a lot to make them sound smaller in the mix.
I was gonna say the same as Paul he's murdering it for sure I just almost wonder if on regular heads with reg cymbals would it be too much?
sam sartorius there is a vodeo of him doing this track on drums.
I think it's more difficult to play on these type of surfaces than an actual drum kit, as these heads & cymbals don't give -they are dead with very little rebound.
This is definitely Devon Taylor's season!!!
I used this setup but with the Gen 16's (before this came out). The snare is still fairly loud unless you turn off the snares, so I usually threw a practice pad on top. Also if you live above someone, the bass drum may still bother people if it comes through the floor. But really, this is the perfect low volume setup between having to choose between this, silencer pads, and electronic drums.
Backing the snares from the head a little also lowers the volume while preserving the integrity
This guy is a beast on the kit!
Really enjoyed that. Great playing man
that lick at 1:33 OMG was too good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah that was a nice one.
Did you adjust your You Tube gear "settings" icon to to demystify it? Set the speed to 0.5 and get that Devon Taylor lesson!
good idea man! yea sounds like those triplets that i loooove to death. wonder if there was those double stroke single pedal hits as well. i'm tryna get my calf muscles to do that right now
thanks for these products....thank you remo, thank you zildjian!!!
yooo is their a full length vid of him playin that paramore song he was playing at the end?
Devon... Thanks, man... really enjoyed this.
If you're wondering how to make the silentstrokes feel more like an acoustic kit i put kick patches on mine which make it feel more like an actual kit, gives a bit more attack to the drum too
This set up is pretty awesome. Great for practice without having to blast the music in your earphones and worry about disrupting the rest of the people in your house!
Amazing playing and heads and cymballs the 2 best in the world
Those are some serious chops! 😱
Turbo playing! And man those cymbals seem to give the hi-hat fantastic control.
crazy wild style drummin!
He's like a modern day Tony Williams; where Miles just lets him do what the heck he wants. Awesome.
gaht-damn he destroys this shit! Amazing performance Devon.
Wow! Amazing drumming and talent!! Thanks, that made my day!! 👍👍
Awesome to hear! Thank you!
I used the L80/Remo SS combo on the kit in my duplex. It never gets above 85dB. That, combined with attenuators on all the amps lets my 5 piece metal band be able to practice in my basement and be quieter than a vacuum cleaner. Admittedly it was a bit strange at first, but better than not jamming at all!
wow that's just amazing
My guy right here!!!
Man..this is great
Wow, this is great.
Oh yeah, and that's some amazing and clean speed! Just like Louis Cole himself.
I love the paramore at the end xD
Cool drummer!
Those ghosty 64th note rhythm sections were nuts.
Nothing beats the combination of remo, pearl, and zildjian.
Zombieroo maybe remo, Tama, and zildjian theyre kinda up there too
whaaaat insane drummer
The heads I want, the cymbals I need.
I just blew the shut out of my pants watching this guy
Dude! Murderin!
Peace b this sounds amazing
Good drumming !!
It's 1:47 am and I'm trying so hard not to scream and wake someone but dude is really to nice on the set. This hoped him into my top 3 for sure!
+remopercussion *Thanks for the demo of the Silentstroke™ in action.* These new heads should be able to drive Diplomat resonants on toms to a suitable volume for the difficult outfit situation I have at OMS Japanese Christian Church (Walnut Creek, CA, USA), where the Yamaha® RY2T4 (with MSD14AF center drum) and Paiste® cymbal outfit are too powerful for the limited volume of Shinoda Hall with Pinstripe batters and Ambassador resonants. The Zildjian® L80 cymbals are shortlisted for acquisition for the same reason.
Very talented guy
ok this guy killed it
im buying the whole set
This is cool
This guy has good music taste as well
and yet he makes them sound super good
Good’ne Brother 👏🏽 so did you get the usual three-pack (14” high hat set, 16” crash & 18” ride) plus an additional 18” ride?
Nicely done - your strokes are fantastic!!
Dope.
the mics on the toms though lol!
whats so funny about the mic placement?
He didn't mention mic placement tho?
Boy, he's quick .....
I appreciate the Knower
ooo what song is that?!
Sounds familiar, huh?
GenevieveArtadi this is knower "Whats in Your Heart"
Guess who was the singer ... ;)
IKR
GenevieveArtadi hey
Waoooh!! So sick...where'd u get those hands from bruh 😀😀...great drumming Devon👌
This guy is great! He is only 24. WOW!
0:00 hey bro, nice Razer Blade
@2:25....just SICK with it, and brought it right BACK smdh
adventure drums vibes
i would of loved to see the rest of him playing thats what you get
how you adjust bas mesh?
is it too bouncy
knower, good choice
wtf i did NOT expect Knower
Is this video at 1.5x??
Jesus Palacios key
This combo is actually not as quiet as all these videos like to make out. Yes its still way quieter than a full acoustic kit - but when I play on my silent strokes and L80 cymbals - my neighbour two doors away says she can hear it. So it's quietER but not exactly silent.
What kind of cymbals are those? I see the brand but the way they sound is nothing I've heard before.
Love how hard he's hitting the drums. Solid drummer.
Why no credit to Knower song
KNOWER !
very technical
How do you deal with bass drum rebound?
should posted the second cover
Yo what is the sample he's jamming to? It's 🔥
When drumming could be in X-Games!
Keep in mind that he’s really shashing this kit
What Tom mics are you using ?
Are they available for 8" tom? Or, is there a pack just for a 7 piece drum kit?
By the way, he's amazing.
How loud do you think he would be with regular heads and cymbals?
Hi guys, why are cymbals silent too?
Im not into the music but your a good drummer
How many decibles would you say they go up to. I have tinnitus so it woild really help me if you could reply
I still use ear mufflers when I play mine
Who is this guy !
*Plays hi hats*
*gets up and scar
I'd rather use cymbal mutes or stick a dampening cloth to my cymbals instead buying these expensive mute cymbals.
However,these are amazing !!!
I used to think the same but no. I gave those a try and they are just way better than muted cymbals
They're not too expensive, I think a high hat, crash and ride are about 200 not sure what the heads run at
I am getting these heads tomorow, how do I go about tuning silent stroke heads
Tone is produced by the resonant head and shell. Simply apply desired tension to the Silent Strokes on the batter-side. Thanks for choosing Remo!
Yeah, but can he play a tango?
James Bond hahaha honestly though
James Bond best comment I have ever read on a drum video😂😂😂
Holy fek! 👊
Andre 3000 drumming! hahaha
Omikod
should've posted his name in the title...
is that Knower?
Tempting. Some people are going to hate the sound, but that's not the point. The point is getting realistic feel and response for practice without dumping three grand into an e-kit. I got the Vic Firth drum mute set (rubber) and I hate it. I just don't practice as much instead of bothering with it. The feel is just wrong. It's tolerable for the drums, but the cymbals? Ick. The cymbals should not be squishy. You also have to rebuild the hihat clutch every time you want to use them (which is as little as possiblte. They are also thick. The stock hardware that came with my kit was a problem because the pads on, you could barely get the nut on the stock hihat clutch and cymbal stands. If you're really pinched, then the VF is better than nothing. But if you have the money for these, do this instead.
im just curious about the cymbals durability. im worried theyd break really fast
They're not great. I don't play hard at all (I haven't broken a real cymbal in over 20 years) but my L80 set started to form little cracks between the holes in under 6 months. It's a real pity as they're a great idea and fantastic solution for drummers in built suburban areas who need to practice, but Zildjian need to put some research and development into creating a more durable product. They've got the idea, now they just need the tech to match.
I honestly just put my practice pad on a snare stand and I sit on my drum throne and play
