As a mom of 3 it’s so sweet watching you go through your pregnancy. As soon as you described the fluttering I was like “yup-that’s movement”. I was also able to identify the round ligament pain. There will be more weird/surprises down the line. Nothing terrible just strange and unexpected. There are SO MANY parts of pregnancy/child birth that I never heard mentioned until I got pregnant. Welcome to the mommy club! 🎉
How lovely was this update! You seem to have a lot. More colour in your cheeks. Fantastic to hear you're doing well and once again thanks so much for being so real. Looking forward to the next update ❤️
Look up interstitial cystitis!! It’s exactly what you describe. It usually goes along with another chronic illness. I have fibromyalgia and I have it. It’s the pits. By the way I’m 35 but have been watching you since I was a young mom and learned about all things menstrual cups and have used reusable products for the last 11 years!!! What a journey you’ve been on since
'Highly recommend fainting with the MAM stuff' made me laugh way too much. I know it's not fun fainting, it's awful, but I'm glad you got a giggle out of it☺
Awww! Your bump is so cute! I was smiling the whole time watching. I’m so happy that you’re feeling a little better about the baby. It’s hard to remain positive when your health is always an issue. All you can do is try. Sending much love to you and your bub❤
I’ve always found that movement of my babies usually feels as tho I had butterflies/fluttering in my tummy… I’m so excited to find out babies gender n I can’t wait for u to start showing us ur baby hauls n what u feel is gonna b either a definite must have or a splurge/not needed item wit ur experience of being a foster mom… xxxx
When I was pregnant with my twins, I went to maternity 3 times to be told it was a UTI- I had a kidney stone completely obstructing my left ureter, had surgery at 23 weeks to blast. All the very best from Australia xx
So glad u and baby are doing well Bree I wish u the very best of luck with everything u deserve it I’ve no doubt ur going to be an incredible mother.Thank you for documenting your life on here for us.☺️😊🥳🥳🎈🎈
I suffer really badly with UTI’s and the stinging pee usually comes with that for me 😹 I have found taking a cranberry supplement daily helps no end! Might be worth a shot (obviously only if they are safe for pregnancy) 🤷🏻♀️
I’m so happy for you that your radiographer was happy to write the gender down without telling you!! We went in there like you with a little envelope and paper etc, and received a very stern ticking off from the radiographer, who made it extremely clear that ‘This is the NHS. The 20 weeks appointment is an anatomy scan - the purpose here is to make sure that everything is developing safely. If you wish to find out the sex of the baby we can absolutely do that, but we don’t do the whole gender reveal stuff, although I realise it’s a very popular trend on the internet these days’ (😳🤦🏻♀️ - yes, that’s why we, new parents in our late 30’s who didn’t think we could ever have a baby, wanted to make it a special moment. Because of an internet trend!) ….I was so disappointed 😭💔 I cried a bit (hello hormones! 😫😂😭) and she said “Don’t worry, I’ll make it a special moment for you.” Yep, a special moment. Me, my husband, and a disapproving woman we don’t know. Fabulous 🙄🤦🏻♀️😂 As it turns out, it was of course very special finding out that we were having our baby girl, but I was still super frustrated that she was so ridiculous about the whole thing, especially as I know it’s not NHS policy to not do that!! I think she was just a bit of a grumpus. We’d got confetti cannons to take to my parents’, so we just did the surprise for them instead of the other way around 😂🤦🏻♀️ In short - enjoy your cake, lovely Bree!!!! I’m happy you had a friendly radiographer!!! 💖💖💖
@@olyckssister It’s really hard isn’t it. I had friends during the pandemic whose partners weren’t able to go with them, and so they literally just wanted to find out at the same time as their partner (not even do a whole gender reveal thing) and they were still denied!! I feel like it’s very silly 😳 What difference does it make?! 🤷🏻♀️💔
My favourite thing for that pregnancy taste and also nausea and bloating was crystallized ginger. It was like... I would pop a piece in my mouth, and immediately the sensation would go away. It was absolutely miraculous for me. I kept some in my desk at work, in my purse, next to my bed, and in the living room. It was always nearby! I think in the earlier days of pregnancy for me, I wasn't really in the nesting phase as much. I also felt terrible for a while. It evened out eventually, and I think the nesting phase really took foot for me in the late third trimester. I hope things even out for you!
Please ignore me if this entirely unhelpful but I have a similar issue with postural hypotension and some things that can help is saline infusions to improve your blood volume or extra salt and fluids. One of the things I find helps me most is sugar free energy drinks which is basically water with lots of sodium and other electrolytes without tasting like your drinking the ocean. Otherwise compression leggings and staying cool is essential for me, as soon as I get warm I’m gone. Hope this is some kind of help
Thanks to being over 35 in the United States when I finally conceived (was 37), I was considered “advanced maternal age” so we were able to find out the gender through bloodwork around week 10 (along with genetic testing to look for any anomalies). We entered the 20 week scan and she asked if we wanted to know the gender, I said “we already know it’s a girl, this will just be confirmation” and sure enough, it was visual confirmation! I also think you are feeling your baby! Just wait until it feels like a solid gas ball rolling around! It’s something you’ll never forget ☺️ My baby girl kicked my bladder for the longest time every night. Luckily it was when she was smaller and didn’t pack much of a “punch” so I would just lay in bed giggling at the feeling, telling my husband “tell your daughter to stop kicking my bladder!”
"advanced maternal age" is kind compared to what they call mothers of similar and older age in Australia. They call them elderly or geriatric primigravidas (first pregnancy). I believe these terms are phasing out in favour of advanced maternal age, unless of course the mother is actually geriatric. However some older midwives still use the geriatric terms. I was just reading an article about a 70yo woman in India who through IVF, gave birth to her first child! So I guess she would be a geriatric primigravida. There apparently was another one in India who was 74 yo and had twins! I couldn't imagine anything worse. Imagine trying to run after a toddler at that age!
It sounds like the urinary symptoms might be interstitial cystitis - I've had symptoms on and off since I was young as well, until my symptoms came to a head last fall/winter. I was finally diagnosed with interstitial cystitis, which is the only diagnosis that has ever really made sense. And your symptoms sound incredibly similar to mine.
EEEKK How exciting! When are you due? You are definitely feeling baby. I felt my first at 16 weeks 6 days. Little flutters! I am so happy to see you on this journey!
I’ve had the same issue with the stinging for years and years as well. I’ve researched and I believe it is interstitial cystitis. I find mine can be brought on by many things, for example, sexual intercourse, too much coffee, spicy food and stress. It may be worth looking into it because combined with all the stress you have been experiencing it might explain it. There doesn’t really seem to be a cure for it, but some things I would recommend are mindfulness, drinking A LOT of water and cranberry juice but I don’t know it that would be suitable in pregnancy
About the "stinging wee" situation, I recognise the symptoms and I had to diagnose myself after years of urin tests and "you probably just have a urinary tract infection" But no!!! I have Urethritis... maybe you have too..? hurts like hell, its an on and off, non STD infection of the urethra. The important thing is keep the area warm! don't let it get too cold like in winter or when swimming. Woollen bike shorts under pants are a godsend in winter and sit on a heating pad if you notice it coming on or just if you think you got cold. Also pressure on the urethra is bad, like sitting on a chair in a way that puts pressure on it, I have one of those doughnut pillows to keep the pressure off. I hope this helped, I don't hope you have it, but if you do, at least you know what it is.
I had the pregnancy metallic/bad taste with both of my pregnancies. I read somewhere that gargling with baking soda water could help. Tried it and found that it did usually reduce/remove that taste for a while!
I had a very similar problem with stinging when I peed. After multiple tests for thrush and UTIs, I was diagnosed with eczema and told to apply hydrocortisone cream. The relief was instant!
Most of the ultrasound techs can discern physical sex fairly easily after a time with all the experience they have watching for it, and many also develop a pretty good "poker face" for when the parent(s) don't want to find out right away.
With your POTS would it be useful to hire/use a wheelchair while you're pregnant? That was you can still get out and about and prep for baby/get some fresh air without fainting ☺️
What you have sounds like interstitial cystitis, otherwise known as irritable bladder syndrome. It mimics the symptoms of a UTI, and it's very unpleasant. The treatment that works best and luckily is safe in pregnancy is to alkalise the urine. You can buy urinary alkalisers (which are basically bicarbonate of soda and citric acid) from the pharmacy (in Australia we also sell them in the supermarket, so you might find them there too, one brand name in Australia is Ural). I'd go to a pharmacy first and find out what the brand names are, then compare prices with the supermarket. In the mean time if you have bicarb soda in the cupboard, get a glass of something like cordial or juice, but not soft drink (as the fizz will react with the bicarb and overflow and make a mess) and add 1 teaspoon of bicarb soda to the glass, stir and drink every morning. The sachets of urinary alkalisers are flavoured so you just pop them in water and drink. I know what you're going through I've had this condition for years and it's a real pain! It's caused me to wet myself more than once. So now I wear reusable period underwear every day so I have leak proof protection in place without using disposable pads. I add 2 teaspoons of bicarb to a 600ml bottle, add 3 dissolving electrolyte tablets and 1 dissolving b vitamin tablet and drink that every morning. It helps immensely. Good luck.
Can you take peridium even though you are pregnant? I know it’s for like short term help with stinging from an infection, but could it help for during your pregnancy?
Everyone looks at you so expectantly when you have those early scans expecting you to get really emotional. I felt so bad when at the first scan I didn't really feel all that much as she just looked like a lima bean. Once we got to the anatomy scan later on and we could actually see her face that's when it felt more real for me. I so wish they would make it more clear that any reaction is normal and fine.
I get similar episodes of stingy wee and back when I was a kid my doctor said it was something to do with PH levels and recommended putting bread soda in a shallow lukewarm bath and soak in it for a while. It works really well and I still do it now in mu 30s. My 4 year old daughter has similar issues and I've had good success with the bread soda for her too, so it might be worth a try.
I have also had issues with unexplained painful urination and urgency (I think for me stemming from being prone to UTIs), and like you, nothing coming up on urinalysis. It was explained to me that sometimes people have sort of "pockets" of infection in the bladder that occasionally are released which causes flare ups, but often not caught in tests. Cranberry hasn't really been shown to work but you can take a supplement called D-mannose which is a sugar found in cranberry. The bacteria "eat" the sugar and then are essentially too roly poly to adhere to the tissues in your urinary tract and then get peed out. You can look up studies that show there is good clinical evidence that this is approx. as effective as antibiotics, and as it is a relatively harmless supplement, safe for pregnancy, might be something to try. I hope that you feel better soon as I know that it is a really rough condition to deal with.
Wow!!! Congrats on the movements of baby. The best cream ever (no babies here) is the child’s farm baby moisturiser so good (even on green jinn to get some money back when purchased). At least you get cake
The stinging when you pee sounds like interstitial cystitis? I have the same thing and I've learnt which foods and drinks trigger it for me. Fizzy drinks, acidic food, spicy food and caffeine? Gets worse around my period. I've learnt how to push through flair up's so it's not as bad :)
For the pain with urinating, check your medicine side effects. I was on a medicine for years that caused it. I noticed it most if I didn't drink enough water (at least 5 bottles of 16.9 Oz) or if I drank something with sugar.
You might want to look into interstitial cystitis. A friend of mine has it not myself so I can’t give a ton of information on it but it’s essentially pin prick sized holes in your bladder. She was diagnosed after having what doctor after doctor thought was bladder infection but it turns out when you eat/drink certain things(spicy or acidic) it has the same symptoms as bladder infections. She has to limit certain foods and drinks or know if she does consume them it will result in a lot of discomfort.
I’m a cis woman and my mom told me at her 8 week scan (this was 20+ years ago btw) and they could tell at that first scan I was a girl so maybe it’s just the person doing the scan? So cool though! I bet it’s an awesome job with the highs but I would hate having to deliver bad news like they do sometimes. Thanks for sharing and being honest about your experience, I might go into solo motherhood one day so you talking about it makes me so much more comfortable and confident for the future with the good and bad
I’m pretty sure you’re mixing something up. Even today it’s impossible to tell whether it’s a boy or a girl through a scan at only 8 weeks. That’s when most people hope to see the heartbeat already. But the sex is not visible yet. Let alone several decades ago.
It sounds like we’ve had very similar experiences with stinging/UTIs! (I’m not pregnant tho!) The pain was so debilitating and then my Dr recommended D-Mannose supplements. They have been a game changer for me! I haven’t had any pain since! You can just get them off Amazon and I think they are pretty much completely natural. I don’t know 100% if they’re safe for pregnancy but I just thought I’d mention in case they end up being suitable or helpful. Sending love to you and little bump! 💕
Oh i took that too, in combination with cranberry. I have had uti’s so many times and often know it before a doctors test shows. So now when i feel it coming up i take it and usually helps within hours
Usually during the anatomy scan/20ish week scan they measure the lengths of the bones to ensure the baby is growing accordingly and the main bone they look at is the femur. I would imagine while measuring the femur bones or taking a look at the babies kidneys they would see the gender at that point or just while they are moving from one area to the next. Unless baby is in a bad position or sitting with their legs crossed it is usually pretty easy for an experienced tech to determine the gender with out really having to look for it
Perhaps you would not ask her but I’d be so interested to hear from your parents about the grandchild that is on the way and their feelings and emotions
I’m so sorry your pregnancy has been so pants, it’s really unfair! I have also been struggling with my MH, about 4 weeks behind you with my second. I’m not feeling any movement yet or particularly showing… ligament pain for days though 👍👍 can’t wait to follow along with you!
you have definitely hit the nail on the head with the panty liner situation... they can definitely irritate "down there" and ESPECIALLY the scented kind... steer well clear of those...
She makes her own reusable ones, so they're material, not scented paper disposable ones. Those disposable ones are horrible, not just environmentally, but they irritate your bits terribly.
I felt robbed of being unable to shop & look at baby clothes too, such a little thing but still disappointing. I had HG and also I was pregnant during the pandemic lockdown in Melbourne Australia, shops were closed .
Hi Bree! Have you tried compression tights and socks for your fainting? As well as drinking diluted lemonade (or other soft drink, not diet, 1/4 drink, 3/4 water). These things really helped my postural symptoms. Good luck
I had the same thing with the painful urination in pregnancy, sporadically. I didn't end up ever having a UTI and didn't ever figure out the cause or cure. Solidarity!!
For your stingy wee might be worth trying lowering/cutting out citric acid. If I consume too much citric fruit or pop with citric acid in it I get the same.
I sometimes get the stinging when urinating and afterwards, I used to get recurrent water infections and they couldn't find a reason. I just find that drinking plenty of water and avoiding sugary drinks help!
This might be odd. But just in case it helps, here goes. As far as the stinging-I am allergic to some brands of toilet paper. I can only use one brand or I have this same kind of pain…not any sort of outward symptoms. Just the same coming and going of discomfort.
hey!! have you looked into interstitial cystitis? i have bladder issues as well, and i have suspected endometriosis. i’ve had recurrent UTI symptoms since i was young too, and i have just started seeing a pelvic floor therapist for it. interstitial cystitis (or painful bladder syndrome) often comes along with endo, so that’s how i found out about it!!
Can't imagine it would ever be an issue. Kids can understand the basics at a very young age. 😊 It's a wonderful part of parenting I find, to chat about how amazing making new life is. (and how joyful sex can be, if that's your bag too)
When my mom was pregnant with my little sister, she was watching the 20 week ultrasound and despite only having 2 other children and both being near 2 decades ago, she somehow spotted the gender on the scan. When the nurse asked if they'd like to know the sex she looked at her boyfriend, then back tho her and said "i think I've already seen it." They hadn't even planned on checking but at that point they simply had to so the nurse brought it up on the screen, mom said "yup, that's what I saw. That's a girl right?" of course it was.
I second what others said about interstitial cystitis. I had this from the age of 15-23ish. I took a low dose of amitriptyline which helped. Mine was caused by anxiety managing the anxiety helped too
Your bladder pain sounds like interstitial cystitis, which I see someone else commented. It’s treatable with mind-body methods since it’s under TMS, a psychogenic pain disorder.
Try to make it more a life experience about your life inside you and not like an experiment. Just enjoy things. It’s all about symptoms and not exciting changes in your body. These are changes not symptoms.
I have had the stinging urine thing my whole life too. The only thing that has ever made it go away is drinking as much water as I possibly can as fast as I can. Normally just 2 glasses of water does the trick.
Can you take some sort of simethicone during pregnancy? That usually helps with gas and bloat. Also have you considered maybe getting a scooter to use when you need to walk long distances. There’s also a rollator that has a reversible backing. It converts from a rollator to a transporter like wheelchair. You can sit on it and if you’re too sick, you can flip the backing and whoever is with you can push you. You can always rent one out for the time being.
If the burning you’re experiencing does turn out to be eczema related, there are cortisone based anti-itch creams designed for women and our more delicate body parts. Along with the hydrocortisone, they will include a mild analgesic to further decrease that horrible itching that can be hard to deal with when you’re out and about in the world. 😅 it’s similar to what they put in antibiotic ointments with pain relief. If you find out it’s safe to use in pregnancy and you think it’s more skin that urinary tract related burning and pain, it could help give you some relief. Here in the US, it can be purchased without a prescription from most pharmacies. It could be different where you live. I’ve had difficult eczema my whole life, so hopefully my experience can help you or someone else.
I had the same issue with peeing and it started around the same age as yours did, after I had my daughter it stopped almost completely so maybe there's hope!
For the stinging, have you tried using a peri bottle when you wee? Diluting with water might help it sting less, I know it helps when people have stitches after birth 🤔
Im interested to know a couple of things, why is your mum filling your head with such caution, so much so that your finding it difficult to fall in love qith or feel excited about your baby. This is your baby you should feel free to fall in love and get excited about them. It doesn't have to be as clinical and technical as your explaining it. I do truly hope you can put other peoples ideas and thoughts aside and embrace your baby as your own. If you want to wear your maternity clothes that you bought for your baby...wear them.. love the now enjoy every minute because trust me it goes so fast and you'll regret not enjoying your pregnancy. I truly wish you so much happiness with your baby. Just don't let other people dictate your movements and choices. Wear those pants! Much love dear.
Thats interesting the stinging pee thing, my daughter is 10 and this has started happening to her too! But no explanation from doctors. Hope she doesnt have to deal with this for the rest of her life 😐
I've been on your channel(s) for a while now (silent viewer) and have bought loads of your pads (1 heavy/postpartum set, 3 regular sets, 1 panty liner set, 2 key ones) as I have pcos and I read that cloth pads can help with symptoms of that (it has a bit with me) and I can't wait to see how your little family grows! I was so excited to find out that you are pregnant! As I've said previously, I have pcos and have been trying for a baby with my boyfriend for over a year with nothing (yet, starting treatment soon) so I really hope to be in the same position as you. As for your urinating issue, have you tried probiotics? Since I've been on them I've had very few problems with my urinating as I had the same as you along with uti's. I'd mention it to your doctor to see if it might be good for you to take xx
I also have PCOS and have it quite bad and had resigned myself to not being able to have a baby but 2 years ago now i was blessed with a beautiful and perfect baby girl without any treatments so please don't give up hope. And yes cloth pads have definitely helped with some of my symptoms
With my second pregnancy, with my son, i went to a 16w gender scan and test didn't even need to say. I could see he was a boy quite easily. It was fairly obvious 🤣🤣 with my girl it was harder to tell what was going on.
About your UTI/cystitis issues. I suffer pretty badly, had lots of tests but always came back normal whic was frustrating. I took D-Mannose 3 times a day which helped out for a bit. But I take a cysitits powder in cranberry juice which helps a lot more. For stopping myself getting a UTI, I take cysitits powder after sex and then one the next day. When I had UTI's really bad I would take all 6 powder's within a half hour of each and then 1 every hour. And just loads of water.
Have u been tested for ureaplasma, mycoplasma or Interstitial cystitis. I have battled infections/pain for a while and these are common culprits! Also maybe see a pelvic floor specialist to improve your muscle tone. Also good for birth!
As far as the ultrasound goes it really depends on the tech, baby, and the machine itself. When we went for my girl right away the tech told us she was a girl, then she was like "you wanted to know, right?" while looking horrified, lol! I was right at 19 weeks for her, with my boy I was I think 18 weeks along and it took a little longer to see because of the position of his legs and cord, he had to move a bit so we could see.
About the gender: My gynecologist could spot the gender of my baby right away at 16 weeks (girl). Labias are easy to spot too if they have good ultrasound machine. So maybe your mummy instinct about your baby being a girl could still be right.
PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the same pee problems!!!!!! AND I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN ANY ANSWERS!!!! But you could try to make sure you are drinking enough water of course but try cutting out red food dyes it sounds strange but it worked for me!!! You can also try taking a daily cranberry supplement or a glass of cranberry juice all these things really helped me hope maybe they can help you
Welcome to pregnancy babe - feeling ill, weak, tired and emotional. Not the fairytale it’s cracked up to be. Post partum / newborn phase even worse - zero time to heal as your running around taking care of a tiny screaming midget on 4 hours of broken sleep 🤦♀️
A comment on the sporadic burning pain when you urinate, that sounds pretty similar to interstitial cystitis which is basically idiopathic uti symptoms, without the uti.
Pelvic Health Physiotherapy can help treat the stinging feeling - often it comes from over active pelvic floor muscles that can be VERY common in people with pelvic pain conditions (like adenomyosis.....) Check out Jilly Bond. She's a gem of a human and a GREAT resource.
I feel like it’s a girl since you were watching and didn’t see anything! A boy would be more obvious 😂🥰 Either way I’m happy to hear baby is doing well!
I had a similar experience to you with regard to the gender and 20 week scan. She never mentioned it and it was only as I was leaving I realised it was my last chance to ask. Anyhow mine was a girl. I wish that I had thought of getting them to write it and put it in an envelope as myself and my husband couldn’t agree on whether or not to find out. It was really stressful in the end trying to keep it secret because I wanted him to know first but he wanted to find out at the birth.
I know what you are talking about with the stinging feeling when you go pee. I would recommend a cranberry supplement. I don’t know if it will help for you, but it usually works for me.
You are describing Interstitial Cystitis - meant to be linked to the Guillan Barre/Epstein Barr virus - but I didn't recall ever having that or both of them. Lucked out and saw a USA Urologist who was on a swap in LOndon and she recommended a book by Larriane Gillespie. This was decades ago. I believe she has updated her book since then. I followed the diet 100% for one whole year and the horrible horrible symptoms never ever came back. I used to be in terrible pain and agony and uncomfortablness and wouldn't wish it on anyone. I've since seen diet sheets from others and it wasn't as comprehensive and I seem to be the only person who got over it whom i've ever spoken to. Highly recommend her book. Its called You don't have to live with Cystitis (its about interstitial cystitis so don't be misled). YOu can still buy her 1980s book second hand online too but waterstones seems to have a revised version. ps she used to do dilations on her patients then stopped doing them, I believe.
I wanted to see if anyone else offered up the interstitial cystitis because I have the same problem. I not ice mine flair up when my inflammation levels are higher and I know that relates to Lyme too. Anything anti-inflammatory helps me when it starts to flare up. And drinking A LOT of water so at least if I feel like I need to go, I've drank enough that at least something comes out
I'm sure the ' fluttering' you feel is your baby. I had exactly the same feeling at 17/18 weeks in my pregnancy with my daughter! ☺️
Yup same here!!!! Lil flutters at first
Yup, definitely is! 🥰
Me too! Such a special feeling ❤
As a mom of 3 it’s so sweet watching you go through your pregnancy. As soon as you described the fluttering I was like “yup-that’s movement”. I was also able to identify the round ligament pain. There will be more weird/surprises down the line. Nothing terrible just strange and unexpected.

So exciting! Thank you so much for talking about pregnancy & mental health as I want to grow my own family.
Omg I haven’t been on your channel in awhile & didn’t know you were pregnant! That’s so exciting, congratulations! ❤
I suffer really badly with UTI’s and the stinging pee usually comes with that for me 😹 I have found taking a cranberry supplement daily helps no end! Might be worth a shot (obviously only if they are safe for pregnancy) 🤷🏻♀️
I love watching your updates we are kinda close lol I am 22 weeks praying for a safe and healthy delivery
UTI symptoms are awful, I feel for you! I find cranberry juice and drinking lots of water helps alot.

You are exactly the right time for the fluttering to be tiny little wriggling! Enjoy the lovely feeling before it turne into giant prods and kicks!
It sounds like you are feeling the first butterfly flutterings. I remember thinking I could feel it at 17 weeks and definitely by 19/20 weeks.
Thought the same.
I had this but homeopathy helped massively if you'd like to try this if still struggling
Try Pelvic Health Physiotherapy - they treat IC all the time.
Flutters are the babies first “kicks”! They feel like gas or butterfly wings!
I had that blood pressure issue during pregnancy as well. It was scary almost passing out every time I got up.
Could be the stinging sensation be due to pH imbalance? Or the urine being strongly alkaline interacting with the acidic vulva/urethral opening?
You are going to make the PERFECT mother !
No one is perfect
@@emma12345890 of course, not really. Just a figure of speech. But she is certainly mother material.
@@emma12345890 Every mother is perfect for their own baby 💖
The stinging when you pee sounds like interstitial cystitis? I have the same thing and I've learnt which foods and drinks trigger it for me. Fizzy drinks, acidic food, spicy food and caffeine? Gets worse around my period. I've learnt how to push through flair up's so it's not as bad :)
For the pain with urinating, check your medicine side effects. I was on a medicine for years that caused it. I noticed it most if I didn't drink enough water (at least 5 bottles of 16.9 Oz) or if I drank something with sugar.
The metallic taste was horrible for me. I started keeping hard candy with me & that helped alot.
Unless baby is in a bad position or sitting with their legs crossed it is usually pretty easy for an experienced tech to determine the gender with out really having to look for it
Hey girly! Hope youre doing awesome!!!❤️
@@wormwoodbush3537 maybe... but maybe she is washing them with a detergent that is scented and doesn't agree with her
Have you looked into IC (interstitial cystitis) and/or urethritis??
I have it, and diet, stress and hormones play a huge part in my flares.
I felt robbed of being unable to shop & look at baby clothes too, such a little thing but still disappointing.
I had HG and also I was pregnant during the pandemic lockdown in Melbourne Australia, shops were closed .
Eeek! So exciting. Do you have any plans for decorating a nursery? I imagine your babys room with plenty of books and fun fact and tactile objects.
Can’t wait for you find out what your having.
How do you plan on explaining solo motherhood to the baby until they're old enough to know about sperm donation?
Can't imagine it would ever be an issue. Kids can understand the basics at a very young age. 😊 It's a wonderful part of parenting I find, to chat about how amazing making new life is. (and how joyful sex can be, if that's your bag too)
When my mom was pregnant with my little sister, she was watching the 20 week ultrasound and despite only having 2 other children and both being near 2 decades ago, she somehow spotted the gender on the scan. When the nurse asked if they'd like to know the sex she looked at her boyfriend, then back tho her and said "i think I've already seen it."
They hadn't even planned on checking but at that point they simply had to so the nurse brought it up on the screen, mom said "yup, that's what I saw. That's a girl right?"
of course it was.
I second what others said about interstitial cystitis. I had this from the age of 15-23ish. I took a low dose of amitriptyline which helped. Mine was caused by anxiety managing the anxiety helped too
It’s the baby moving youre feeling 🥰 then it will just get stronger but same sort of feeling 😊
I’m so glad to hear your mental health is improving! If I had to guess, I’m thinking baby is a girl but I guess you’ll be finding out soon!! Congrats!
I had some of that sting and I was diagnosed with lichen sclerosis. Maybe you could look into that.
The bloating u explained in beginning is probably the baby being pushed because of bloating not just bloating. I get uncomfortable like that too
For the stinging, have you tried using a peri bottle when you wee?
The stinging pee sounds like interstitial cystitis
Try papaya enzyme. I definitely rember those days. Congrats to you.
You can also try taking a daily cranberry supplement or a glass of cranberry juice all these things really helped me hope maybe they can help you
I had the most feral taste in my mouth during my pregnancy
Welcome to pregnancy babe - feeling ill, weak, tired and emotional. Not the fairytale it’s cracked up to be. Post partum / newborn phase even worse - zero time to heal as your running around taking care of a tiny screaming midget on 4 hours of broken sleep 🤦♀️
A comment on the sporadic burning pain when you urinate, that sounds pretty similar to interstitial cystitis which is basically idiopathic uti symptoms, without the uti.
I'm not pregnant, but I get occasional stinging when I pee with no UTI. I've noticed for myself when I'm no drinking enough water it flares up!
It's probably hormones too. Relaxin makes all your ligaments stretch.
Pelvic Health Physiotherapy can help treat the stinging feeling - often it comes from over active pelvic floor muscles that can be VERY common in people with pelvic pain conditions (like adenomyosis.....)
Check out Jilly Bond. She's a gem of a human and a GREAT resource.
I feel like it’s a girl since you were watching and didn’t see anything! A boy would be more obvious 😂🥰 Either way I’m happy to hear baby is doing well!
you so amazing i am so proud of you 😊
It isn’t bloating, it’s the baby. It happened to me too.
Oh gosh, I changed my underwear two or three times a day when I was pregnant 😅. Stock up on cotton underwear and you'll make it!
Bring a camping chair with you and then you'll have a seat with you wherever you are
I had a similar experience to you with regard to the gender and 20 week scan.
