Thanks This is the best video I have seen on the installation of this sink. It has all the details others don't have. This is what I needed since this is not my profession. Fantastic!!!!Fantastic!!!!Fantastic!!!!Fantastic!!!!Fantastic!!!!Fantastic!!!!
@@HouseDoctorRay After I was on the edge of my seat while I enjoyed watching your videos, I have no doubt thinking, YES, I WILL DO IT!!!! One negative in my home, I will need several of your DIY videos. It's my responsibility to maintain everything? I bought, in 2006, my MOBILE HOME. I'm happily single and live alone, despite being legally blind due to (RP). In short, you'll get familiar in the DIY videos if you have a MOBILE HOME.
Great instructions. This gives me knowledge and confidence. I'm installing my utility sink right now, but I have paused because I want to keep my utility sink cabinet 5 inches from the back wall but also want to secure it properly. Sink cabinet is sandwiched between the washer and interior wall. Is there a brace/bracket the I can buy to install on to the back wall?
Can I add a sink to laundry room, maybe tap into tje washer water pipe and trap? My house was built in 2005 so iam assuming the laundry standpipe is 2"
Most likely. Depending on where you live you may need a permit and or a licensed plumber to add a sink. If the drain lines aren't routed and vented properly you'll have slow drains. If your locality requires a plumber you could get them to run the lines and you install the sink.
Glad you like it. I bought it at Lowe's. www.lowes.com/pd/Zenna-Home-24-in-x-24-25-in-1-Basin-Gray-Freestanding-Polypropylene-Utility-Tub-with-Drain-and-Faucet/1000597593
Thanks for awesome instructional video House Doctor Ray! They have a stainless steel sink similar to this at Home Depot. Same cabinet style and faucet with sprayer is included. I just wish drain pipes install was part of instruction manual, cause until I found this video I was stuck... If you could mention drain tail pipe size Ray, that would help us novices when ordering parts to get this done ;)
Just measure and drill holes in the bottom of the cabinet. You can also put lipstick or chalk on the top of the pipes then lower the cabinet to mark where to make the holes.
How much would this cost if we had to get it done separately? My builder is not giving us this option. Should we request them to do anything else to the pipes while we are at it? Indian Land, SC is the location.
If your house is in the process of being built absolutely run the plumbing before the drywall is put up. If you have it done after the house is finished you may need to have the walls cut out to run the lines. Not familiar with costs in SC but It will probably cost double to add it later. You can search around on Homewyse to get an idea of the costs www.homewyse.com/services/cost_to_install_drain_line.html
Thanks

Very nice video for people planning to install their own laundry sink
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
Wow! This is everything we needed to know!! Thanks for teaching!!
Glad you found it helpful.
Great video! I never thought to use a magnet for a stud finder but it makes sense! Thank you.
I have had a lot more success using a magnet than those electronic gadgets.
Awesome instructional video! Many thanks!!
Glad you liked it
You're my sensei I never had. 🙏🏼
Thank you.
Thanks! Was the drain existing? How did you tie into it? Was it in the wall or the floor?
Here's how I plumbed the room.

Probably not but you could build one out of a couple of 2x4s.

@@HouseDoctorRay that's a good idea thank.u
What you think of Brass Craft (push connect) shut off valves. Are they ok for plastic pipes??
As long as they specify that they're for use on PEX I'm sure they're fine.
What sink and cabinet is that? Love it!

It will depend on the size of the trap adapter in your wall or floor. Most PVC P-trap kits will come with parts for both 1¼ and 1½ connections.
How do you install when your plumbing comes through the floor and not the wall.
Just measure and drill holes in the bottom of the cabinet. You can also put lipstick or chalk on the top of the pipes then lower the cabinet to mark where to make the holes.
@@HouseDoctorRay oh thanks so much for replying.
So all the plumbing connections where already in place?
Here's the video where I did the rough plumbing.

How long should it take? I’m having one put in
What about using plumbers tape for the supply lines? yes or no
How long did you let the paste dry before testing the water?
Great video
No plumbers tape needed on supply lines. They have a rubber washer inside.
That paste doesn't dry so you can test immediately.

i was about to say toward the end....it would have been nice to finish the video with the water on.....and then you turned it on. 😆
How long should it take for a plumber to put this exact cabinet in my laundry room
If the water and drain lines are there already about two hours.
