    Nice system. I have the same speakers running off a refurbished Leak Stereo 20 power amp. I love the sweetness of this combination. Recently I upgraded the crossovers in my B&W’s and I was very happy with the improvement. A cost effective upgrade.

      Would love to know how you upgraded the crossovers in B&W's. That might be something for me to look into. Certianly cheaper than a new pair of speakers. Thank you.

    You have set up a lovely entertainment space, with good equipment. Thanks for sharing. It really is a fun hobby. I have a McIntosh C2600, which was a game-changer from my old C38...huge improvement in every respect. So I think it is a great idea for you to upgrade to the C2700.

    Nice system Mike, glad I found your channel! Love my VPI turntable too. Like my BOLTZ CD storage but wish they'd had one more divider per rack. Likely going to get the BOLTZ LP storage in the future but also wish they'd put some back behind each shelf. Keep the reviews coming. 🙂

      @@MikesVinylExperience Having spent some time listening at CES in Las Vegas over many years I would caution you to not get too crazy about the equipment. I've sat and listened to million dollar systems. There is a point at which you start listening to the equipment, comparing "flaws," sensing a lot of recording issues and forgetting to enjoy the music. It's easy to get caught up in the hype and the desire for newer "better" stuff. I've hand selected all my equipment used and vintage at pennies on the dollar and couldn't be happier with the sound. Enjoy the music, that's just my 2 cents. 😉

      @@brianbillings6815 Thank you my good friend. I think my system will always have a mix of newer and older (vintage) equipment. I would however like to to in the next couple years replace the bulk of my 30+ year old system, speakers, amp & Preamp. At that point I will likely be done for at least my lifetime. Thank you!!!

    Great rooms and setup! I have the exact same Monster power conditioning unit. I switched the display to amps so I can tell when my amplifier switches to class B from class A. I was surprised you don’t have a dedicated phono pre-amplifier for you Hana ML. I’m currently in the market for a phono pre-amp and I’m looking at Hegel V10 and Musical Fidelity M6x. I recently switched from my Shure V15xMR MM to an Audio Technica OC9XSH MC, and the Schiit Mani 1 isn’t cutting it anymore. Do you have any thoughts on Phono Pre-Amps?

    • @MikesVinylExperience
      @MikesVinylExperience  8 місяців тому +1

      Thank you!! The built in MC phone stage in the classe is actually very good. I am looking at an upgrade on the preamp and the phono stage will be most important piece in that decision. Thank you for looking!!

    Why do you have your preamp so far away from your power amp? Since the preamp has such a small signal compared to the power amp, wouldn't the resistance of the interconnect cable degrade the incoming signal to the power amp? Asking for a friend ;)

    • @MikesVinylExperience
      @MikesVinylExperience  2 місяці тому

      Acutually I have found in my room that moving the bulk of the equipment from between the speakers have resulted in much better sound than when I had the electronics in-between the speakers. The only thing between the speakers is the amp on a low amp stand. The signal from the pre amp to the amp is done with a 6 meter (20') pair of Audioquest Diamond balanced interconnects and it sound sooo much better than when it was between the speakers. I could detect no signal loss, the sound difference was immediate and huge when I made the move. Most so called audiophile acoustic professionals will tell you to do what I did and move the equipment away from between the speakers. For me it worked great, each room is going to be different so I would suggest experimenting with your friends system and see if the results by moving electronics from the middle of the speakers is worth it or not. My room does not yet have acoustic treatment with I plan on doing once I get new speakers. Thank you for your comment! Let me know if I can help in any way. Thanks again.

    Instead of a new pre amp I'd look at one or two REL high level subs

    • @MikesVinylExperience
      @MikesVinylExperience  8 місяців тому +1

      Great suggestion! I have always wondered if subs would be helpful in the space. It is a relatively small room being 22L X 14W. The B&W's have always been pretty solid in the bottom end but I have wondered what a sub or two would sound like. Thank you for the great idea!
