Soffit is American terminology for eaves. They call barge boards fascia boards.
Luckily carpentry doesn't require nearly as many tools as cabinetry and joinery.
With a decent compound chop saw, spirit level, a hammer, impact screw driver and drill, your pretty much good to go.
Glad to see you put decent eaves on your building's. So important not to skimp on those.
