Nice video! Would it be possible for you to make a similar video that illustrates the cobbauge system? It would be really nice to have thermal mass + insulation combined.
Thank you for all your videos. I wondered why not do straw/clay on the north side and cob for the rest of the walls ? And for extreme heat here in the south of France, would you rather insulate or have more thermal mass ? Best Regards, Raymond
Thank you and for all these videos, they are so helpful. Lots of people say that when we have heatwaves that are lasting, 2 weeks and unlike in the desert areas, the temperatures does NOT fall at night, it wouid be better to build a clayslip woodchip (or straw) house than a cob house. What is your opinion and experience about this ? Best Regards, Raymond (living in the south of France)
do you have any plans to build a straw clay or hempcrete wall where the framing is surrounded by the infill? As opposed to between. Idea being that surrounding the framing will get rid of the thermal bridging from the frames. Would love to hear your thoughts on that.
Thank you for this information any and all information is greatly appreciated. I do have a question.? Has anyone been involved with a build , or been inside a cob/ s,bale home with a Rocket mass heater in it .? What was the result if so.?? Very curious for a possible build in the future.😊

Cob is cooling, straw acts like a blanket.

I'm hoping to build a strawbale style with timber framing. Have you covered this before?

I can look into that! I've been wanting to see how that's done.
Thanks for the suggestion.
