Really liked this video, very descriptive, would love to see you do a longer video as this was so interesting.
Hi Paul! I'm so glad you liked the video. It was fun making it. That's great feedback and I will aim to keep improving them. I have more trips planned over the year, including a plan to go along part of the west coast of ireland in the summer. Thanks again and keep watching! Will 😀
PS where can I see your films? 😀
Fantastic 👏 get out there & just go for it
Fantastic!!
Currently in the market for a Basecamp or an Adria Action.
Really helpful video. Thanks!! 👍👍
Enjoyed your video, as a fellow basecamp owner, it’s awesome to see where you visit with the van.
Wow. Thank you! I'm so glad you liked the video. We've got more adventures to come! All the best, Will
i loved seeing this video footage. keep going 🤞
Thank you! We're chuffed you liked it. More to come! 😀
After this, our next episode is in Norfolk following the coastal path! Keep an eye out for new adventures.
This country needs nothing more but good weather.
If you have the bespoke awning, I would really like to see how easy it is to actually put it up. The Basecamp is available here in Japan, but there are at the moment about a total of two! Caravanning is very much a minor thing here and dealerships are few and therefore UA-cam is probably the best source for information. At the moment, no one has shown (in detail) much about the awning.
We can definitely do that! Watch this space! 😀
@@CaravanTV Thank you! That is very much appreciated!
The Basecamp appeals on both a private and professional front. I am cinematographer here in Japan and there are shooting locations where we have no facilities. The Basecamp would be perfect to act as a gear hauler and a place for the talent to change and the stylists/makeup to do their work when on site. The awning would be a great space to hold the client/director monitors. Personally of course, it would be utilised in much the same way as in this video. The only drawback (minor for most) is that there is no internal water tank to prevent freezing in winter, but no doubt about it, this is one very, very versatile caravan.
Yes, it would be ideal for that. It's unfussy inside, well designed and comfortable. The awning pretty much doubles the living space. With the water tank, depending on how cold it gets, you can buy insulating jackets for the external water tank to prevent freezing. We'll get a video about the awning made asap. By the way, this is Will (the chap in the video)! 😀
Sure is a cozy little camper.
It is cosy. In October, we had snow on Mull. But, the Basecamp was warm and great to return to after a day out walking in the hills. :-)
Thinking about getting a BaseCamp to go with my 308GT diesel hatchback but no-one seems to know how to fit a tow bar to a 308 GT hatchback. Where did you get your tower fitted? How do you find the power weight and how much mpg do you do towing a BaseCamp? Sorry for lots of questions. Love the videos.. AJ
What is the make of Penny's backpack the blue one
I'm not sure! I will try and find out!
@@CaravanTV hi Will, my wife found it in the video description, silly us. We love the videos and are looking at getting a Basecamp. Thank you. Greetings from Ireland
Hi Will. Do you think it is worth while getting the new towing jacket for the Basecamp. Made by Protec Covers? I understand it means sticking / gluing on some stud anchor points to the front / side of the Basecamp and which are left in place to attach the cover. New to caravanning and picking the Basecamp up in a few weeks.......
Hi Donna, thank you for getting in touch. On the whole, it is worth getting a towing jacket for your new Basecamp. All caravans get a lot of weathering when you tow them. The amount of dirt, moisture and stones that will be thrown against your Basecamp is surprising. And, when you've invested in one you should protect it from avoidable damage, and wear & tear. I hope that helps. All the best, Will
Many thanks Will. Good advice. Regards, Donna.
You're welcome.
Hi Donna, I've surprised myself by considering caravanning - all because the Basecamp looks like meeting a lot of my needs (I'm a hill walker). You've had yours a few months now and I wondered how you're getting on with it?
@@Robutube1 Great so far. Have been up to Morecombe Bay, Northumberland and off to Scotland next. Basecamp is a great little unit - looks small from the outside, but surprisingly roomy on the inside. Gets lots of comments and attention. It's toasty warm - a great heating system - and the shower is very good also. We've had a lot of the elements thrown at us - Storm Emma and torrential rain - and it has stood up admirably. No regrets about getting it - so much cheaper than a motorhome. We added all the extras for the towing : ATC, stabiliser and shock absorbers. Probably completely overkill, but as a new tower, I wanted that extra assurance. I don't think I'll ever love towing, but it's a means to an end. Anyway hope that helps.
Would like to see a comparison between the Swift basecamp and the Airstream basecamp. But I don't think the Airstream basecamp is available in the UK.
Yes, the Airstream Basecamp aims at the same market as the Swift Basecamp, albeit at a different price. And, the Airstream is as eye-catching as you'd expect. We love the panoramic windows, and storage features too. If Airstream imported the model into the UK, they'd have a tussle with the name with Swift! We'd love to do a full comparison too. 😀 Thanks for your comment!
@@CaravanTV thank you for such a quick response.
The nose weight of the Airstream Basecamp is very high, 225kg I think and would seriously limit tow car choice.
I can't find the Norfolk expedition featured at the end of the video. Links anyone?
