Thanks for another time saving video! I found that I definitely had to remove the touchpad when I did it. My solution to the springy washers was to put a drop of isopropyl on top of them on their spindles with an eyedropper after I pulled the touchpad out. It kept them stuck from surface tension until it evaporated which was about the same amount of time it took me to get to the rest of the work. I think there's probably something better out there than alcohol, but man! those washers are hard to track if they get away from you. I wonder if the washers are the same size across the Macbook models that use them? Might be worth ordering a pack of them since the newer Macbooks that require touchpad removal are getting to end of OEM battery life.
I was extremely careful and got all the batteries detached until Ingot to the last pack. Somehow I managed to put a hole in the battery. It caught fire slightly and I blew it out right away. Can I still safely remove this pack or is my laptop destroyed?
Set it to 2x speed and use the fast forward button if you don't value the info I provide throughout the video. Don't blame me if you break things because you didn't want to follow my instructions though.
Great video - the only thing I would add is that gasoline is a better solvent than isopropyl for the old battery adhesive. It is more effective and gets the job done in minutes when put on a paper towel. The battery ribbon cable is almost impossible to see even wearing magnification lens. I couldn't have done it without this video. One other suggestion is to clean the edges of the track pad and its place on the top case with alcohol before reinstalling - my 2019 macbook pro is working better now than it was when Apple replaced the topcase in 2021 due to the keyboard manufacturing issue.
Nice, glad it helped. I don't use gasoline. The fumes are much more toxic and you'll be poisoning yourself working on the computer as well as absorbing it through your skin. Not good.
One of the other problems with gasoline is that it can damage motherboards and other components such as speakers and gaskets. Not recommended. Cleaning up the trackpad before reinstallation definitely helps though. :)
You should try it with ipa, trust me it makes it so much easier. You need 0 force to remove it. However you need to be careful it doesn't go in the screen.
I use them to do repairs. I'm sorry you have a fingernail phobia, but just like I wouldn't stop using screwdrivers if people had a phobia of them, I wouldn't stop using my fingernails no matter how many boys have issues with them.
@LoupDeFer-p9v by working with your hands you mean holding your shaft? Instead of using your hands, you want to hold a little tool in your hand? I won't stop you. You do you.
Fingernails are part of your hand. Don't blame me that you cut them off and replace them with tweezers, pry tools, adhesive removers, scratchers, etc...

shouldn't it work as long as a charger is plugged in even if the battery is dead? My mbp 2018 seems to not work whereas my old trusty 2010 works fine without a battery@@ItsBinhRepaired
@@AnalogFlava no, because Apple is a pos...
Do you have any use for old batteries? I could mail them
Nope, they're all in a tub, waiting to be shot with a bb gun or recycled lol
How much would you charge for this service on this exact model? (Not incl shipping)
$150 labor, plus the cost of the battery.
@@ItsBinhRepaired Thanks for the quick response. In that case I want to give it a go myself first. Thank you so more for the video. I will let you know if I end up wanting to ship.
Sounds good
it is this one actually. LOL I tried to put this battery in and now the laptop does not turn on. do you fix laptops?
Yes
@@ItsBinhRepaired how do I get your information?

Hi, I changed the battery but it doesn't turn on, I can feel the trackpad clicking, I've tried resetting the smc and nvram, but it doesn't turn on! help me, sorry for my english, I'm from Brazil
Was it fine with the old battery?
@@ItsBinhRepaired with the old battery it was not turning on, it would turn on for a few seconds, but then it would turn off
@@InstaStoriesdosFamosos did it show anything on the screen?
@@ItsBinhRepaired before with the old battery sometimes it turned on, stayed a few seconds and turned off. I installed the new battery it is not turning on, I can feel the trackpad clicking normally
I hate how UA-cam doesn't notify me of replies. Were you able to figure it out?
Yup, they're all the same.
My P5 pentalobe screw driver is really lose and it feels like I will strip the screw.
Get a good quality set. I recommend this amzn.to/3GyF5zC
@@ItsBinhRepaired Thanks!
@@joegoh1968 no problem
I was extremely careful and got all the batteries detached until Ingot to the last pack. Somehow I managed to put a hole in the battery. It caught fire slightly and I blew it out right away. Can I still safely remove this pack or is my laptop destroyed?
Should be fine, just be careful.
Can you decrease video time?
@TOleablemonk yup!
are those double sided tapes not necessary actually? is it all because apple wanted to make it complex for us to replace battery ourselves?
It does help with rattling and a little with heat dissipation, but yeah, not really needed for the most part.
You should try it with ipa, trust me it makes it so much easier. You need 0 force to remove it. However you need to be careful it doesn't go in the screen.
Yeah... I'd rather do the extra work and avoid risking damage to a $600+ part. Lol
@@ItsBinhRepaired try it though it's rlly helpful even a little goes a long way

great tutorial , but your finger nails freak me out. great voice
I use them to do repairs. I'm sorry you have a fingernail phobia, but just like I wouldn't stop using screwdrivers if people had a phobia of them, I wouldn't stop using my fingernails no matter how many boys have issues with them.
OK girlfriend we don't have an inch and half finger nails . You need to specify that this is instructions for girls .
I'm sorry, maybe you should tell your mommy to stop cutting them so you could use nature's natural gifts...or ask your mommy to fix it for you...
@@ItsBinhRepaired LOL you know that we grown men work with our hands , right ?
@LoupDeFer-p9v by working with your hands you mean holding your shaft? Instead of using your hands, you want to hold a little tool in your hand? I won't stop you. You do you.
@@ItsBinhRepaired maybe you should read post before you put it up .
Fingernails are part of your hand. Don't blame me that you cut them off and replace them with tweezers, pry tools, adhesive removers, scratchers, etc...
Very Good video but mac screws are a Real pain in the Ass. Don't waiste your time and have it done by professionals for the price of a new battery you order online...
What?! The screws are the least painful part. You just need a good screwdriver set... amzn.to/3yOPiq8
