Homemade Chili Oil Recipe w/ Crunchy Garlic & Shallots!

- I promise you’ll never buy chili oil again.
- This is also a great way to use leftover frying oil! I like to use my leftover oil from chicken because it gives the chili oil extra flavor
- I purposefully made this recipe to be mildly salty. This ensures it doesn’t change the taste of the foods you’re adding it too. Remember - you can always add more, but it’s hard to take out!
1.5 cups (350ml) neutral frying oil
.5 cup (118ml) chili pepper flakes
.5 cup (118ml) gochugaru Korean red pepper flakes
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp soy sauce
100g diced shallots (2-3 whole pieces)
20g roughly chopped garlic (3 large cloves)
1. Heat the frying oil and add diced shallots. Cook for about 6 minutes and stir every minute until golden brown.
2. Add the roughly chopped garlic to the oil and cook for about 2 minutes.
3. Sprinkle in the salt and drizzle in the soy sauce at the edge of the pan.
4. Add the dried chili pepper and Korean chili flakes and cook for 2 minutes while continuously stirring. Turn off the stove and remove the pan from heat.
5. Transfer the oil to a glass jar and let cool. The oil will keep fresh in the refrigerator for up to 6 months.

Straight to the point. Doesn't do any stupid shit or try to be funny and go viral. Excellent video that's actually about cooking for a change
Yup
who hurt you
You say that but if you do it the way instructed, you’ll have burned shallot and garlic so…🤷♂️
@throwaway3873right? Like damn, it’s just food😭🤣
@@Godlikegioexcept the recipe is 🗑️
Finally someone who just posts a simple chili oil recipe ❤
gochugaru in chili oil sounds so good
Yay! I don’t like cinnamon, anise, and other flavors I’m not used to, but this is just perfect!
Maybe it's time to expand your pallete.
what are you a toddler?
It is only good in stir fry & the flavor can be overpowering in soup
@@m_b_a9567you don’t have to get smart with someone
Thats where the flavour comes from
Yuuum!! I've been addicted to crispy crunchy garlic chili oils since I've only recently been introduced to then. Must make my own, so appreciate the post. Looks easy and simple to adjust and play with as well!
Can you confirm or deny whether or not she overcooked the shallots? Just curious because I was always taught when garlic or shallots get to that point it’s burned. It’s kind of hard to toast garlic 😬
The simplest and to the point video i watched today for chilli oil recipe, I've been scrolling since half an hour for the perfect one...thank you ❤
Same here
Thank you for keeping it brief! Many blessings!
For how many days we can store it??

Tasty 🤤 chilli oil wth noodles 😋
I made this 10/10
How long is this stay good ? Can you leave this out at room temperature? I would think not to refrigerate bcuz it will solidify so idk how long it’s safe to use? Thank you!!!
As long as it's stored in an air tight container and has no contact with moisture, it'll stay good in a cool and dry place for at least a year. The oil layer will prevent mold and oxidation.
And it was the chili oil that made me subscribe lol
glad there is no sugar!!! 😊😊🎉🎉❤❤❤
For the weak.😂
Today i made and its perfect thank you❤
How long can you keep it in the normal temperature?
আমিও জানতে চাচ্ছি
Thank you , Chili oul at grocery store so expensive 😋 ❤
The best !! Taste delicious 😋

Thank you for sharing.
Yuuuuummmmm im going to have to buy some chili flakes i already have gochugaru
I love chili oil! ❤
Awesome. Thank you
You can store it for how long? Does it get bad after some time?
Great Video, Thanks 😊… Q: Do you store in pantry or fridge?
Does it need refrigeration after is made? And how long dies it need to sit to develop the flavors?🤔
Looks amazing! I’m gonna try this one out 😋
Love you and your videos
Add msg and infuse lemon grass into the oil and it brings it to another plane of existence
Also grated ginger/turmeric/szechuan peppercorns. 😋
@@cindysandberg643 I’ve never tried it with turmeric but I have with ginger and Szechuan Peppercorns. I love that zing taste it’s very unique. Just not a ginger guy. However I think you’re spot on for most people. Good call Cindy 😎
I did something very wrong. Some things burned while others didn't. I messed the timing up on this bad. ☹
It's okay. Relax. No one got hurt, and you can always try again. Not sure if you needed to here this, but I have faith you can make it work.
@@umbraestragisomg ur so sweet ❤❤
@@zayoko1353 Thank you, that's very kind of you to say. It's nice to feel appreciated. 🤗
@@umbraestragis awhh ofc😭❤
@@zayoko1353 Good god, I keep trying to reply but youtube keeps being a pest about it. Pesky algorithm police.
Do you have to refrigerate it?
This looks yummy
How long can we preserve this?
Does this have to be stored in the refrigerator or in the pantry?
Description says 6mo. ...in fridge but you will know when it gets rancid.
Great video... going to try and make this
I guess every asian uses the chop stick in oil trick lol
Can you make cheong? My mom is Cantonese and I recently moved states and can’t find it lol
I have to make a huge glass of this. I love hot sauce, so this chili pepper oil has to be fire.
Ima try this
Its so good. I eat it out the jar. Dont judge me
Did you follow the recipe?
Why use leftover frying oil?
Flavor depths and reduces waste of oil if you don't usually reuse it....I would think
So fire, korean chili flakes 👌
Would love to collab with our brand!
But how long is this okay to store please?
how much oil, chili flakes, and chili powder are needed in ml or gram, please? Not an American
I can't find the Korean powder in my area - can i make it with the rest?
Amazon̈
Nice
does anyone know how long this will last in a fridge. I dont want to make too much
Description says 6mo. ...in fridge but you will know when it gets rancid.
Most favorite ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😋😋😋😋😋
Can i use palm oil
Do we store this in the fridge?
'DESCRIPTION ' says in the fridge for up to 6months. .... trust me, you'll know if it goes rancid beforehand.
Onion in chilli oil for month long, wouldn't it spoil! If not, I'm doing it tomorrow only.
What oil she used there exactly? I couldn't understand.
Neutral oil
Does this need to go in the fridge?
Description says 6mo. ...in fridge but you will know when it gets rancid.
@@chriswheeler9056 thanks
What if I Don't have korean red chilli flakes?
How long does this last for?
Description says 6mo. ...in fridge but you will know when it gets rancid.
I'd like to try her chili oil...
Don't have soy sauce what to do?
she was about to say gochugaru but stopped herself 😭
Could I use onion if no shallot ?
Yes you can. Just slightly different taste profile. Ultimately both will turn out great! Your preference.
I’m trying with algae oil, so that the oil part at least is 0cal
Final is red chilli flakes and paprika powder R8
Hot oil + minced garlic for 2 min=burnt garlic. Either pour hot oil over the shallot and garlic or strain them out quickly. They burn too fast
Ingredients maam please....🙏
❤
Why leftover frying oil?? 🤢
I tried this but it turned out very Bad. Wrong recipe. Don't cook the chilli together with the onion and garlic. Separate the oil from the garlic and onion then Pour out only the oil after cooking inside the Chilli flakes.
I can eat whole jar,marry me…
Quelqu’un peut traduire la recette en français ?🙏🙏🙏
🔥🔥🔥🔥
the seed oil is the unhealthy part
Knock knock we heard you got oil
Did someone say oil
❤🔥🔥🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Be careful adding soy sauce to the oil, you could end up with a lot of bubbling, splattering, and steam.
Cant understand her pronounciation .
Oil., corriander ??
Is that oil? 🤨🤨🤨
Knock knock mother
This looks like onion oil than garlic
Kindly
Garlic burnt af
Merry me
After watching 50 times I realized they were cooking something in the background
that's dried chilli flakes in oil not chilli oil
Then add fresh chillies to your heat level.
Hard to understand what you are saying
A mess. I can see if you do anything in kitchen you leave a mess.
👍🏻
What’s the ingredients??????? Can’t understand your pronunciation
How long can this be stored for ?
How long can we use it?
