For those reading the subtitles. Rapeseed is basically Canola oil. Tsaoka is cardamom pods, whole. The oil infusion process in this video is amazing. I would have crushed the cardamom pods first, though. I like a few less chili seeds so I pick many of those out before grinding. I also like to have a pure without the chilis, so I filter out those after making. I love how the oil is added in steps...first gently, then suddenly. Very traditional.
Yeah it's just called Canola Oil now, because of political correctness, some found "Rapeseed" too offensive... People should just fall of the planet with their political correctness, it has become beyond stupid!!!
And the subtitles for the chillies aren't quite accurate. That was not frutescens, nor were those Bhut Jolokia. Now, granted, these pods are all perfect for this recipe, I'm just a pepper freak.
Chinese rapeseed oil is not the same as ordinary canola oil. The seed is roasted, and traditionally a virgin rapeseed is used (this means that the erucic acid has not been bred out). In most Chinese markets in the US, you can find a roasted low erucic acid variety that is a decent substitute. If you can’t find at your Asian grocery store, use peanut oil. It’s not the same, but is acceptable and can handle high heat.

Well thanks for sharing, but guys I think the omission of particular details was deliberate because they’re selling the oil. Which means you can make it yourself but it won’t be exactly like theirs 🤷🏼♀️
Hi. I would love to make this recipe. Do you have the entire recipe for this, with all the correct amounts of each ingredient...and the directions...please?
Thank you for sharing! Love the mix of chillies including some hot ones. Also like the grinding and addition of the Sichuan peppercorns. I’ve done this with red ones but not the green ones. Thanks again!
Based on my observation, this process yields about 25 Sichuan Chili containers from a single batch where each container is 100mL. Lemon, does it seem right?
I think it's sort of a trade secret, because they're obviously selling this. Everybody knows the ingredients to make chili oil but not many knows how to make super good chilli oil with divine proportions.
Hi ladychef u make sichuan chilies sauces so delicious food the add far che it from china but sometimes short out stocks pls write the correct words easy to find out thanks to u i malaysia Chinese pls learned me a lesson ok
It looks like they label their jars and sell commercially, so they aren't going to give us the secrets. But it's a great video for advertisement because I pretty much want to buy some of this. A little leery of the seed oil, though.

Definitely superb recipe . Are these the weights of each item given on the left side ?
It will be great if you could share the weight in grams for all the ingredients just like how you did it. Thanks for sharing.
Asian thing. They don't use any measurement when cooking, Like uncle roger's said " We measure until our ancestors said that's enough child"
@@tomalfredpuno84 If you notice, they meticulously weigh everything they put in the wok, only the scale reading is hidden from view...so perhaps not?
@@tomalfredpuno84 No. He's using a scale and being acutely accurate.
Great video. I'd love to purchase a jar. Do you have them sale? Shipped to US?

I have to make one for myself 😃😃
I’m so happy to see my home town grown chilli, Bhut Jolokoia ( Ghost chilli )
Really!? where are you from, my friend😆
@@lemon_films I’m from Northeast of India, here we grow and export Bhot jolukia (ghost pepper)
Is ghost chili different from ghost pepper? Or are they the same plant?
@@chibigirl8545 it’s the same, Bhut jolukia, ghost pepper, ghost chilli.
@@mrdwimary960 then you would see that those are not Bhut pods at all. They are perfect pods for this recipe, they're just not that particular pepper.
It looks amazing

I thought you should shake out some of the seeds so it isn’t bitter? Did you add cinnamon sticks?
without cinnamon sticks 😂
Paula, they did add cinnamon sticks at the 6 minutes time. They didn't add the whole stick but cut the cinnamon to smaller pieces.
Is there proportions? i.e grams. I feel like the herbs you can eye ball. But salt chili oil ratio you kinda need.
