I owned a Sunbeam Tiger back in the day (1972). It was a 1967 and it had the Hi-Pro 289 V8 with 271 HP and 4 spd. trans.
Man! That was a movin' machine in spite of its 2:88 rear end gearing. I always wondered what that would have been like
if it had a 3:73 or 3:55 rear end in it. I used to chuckle whenever an MG, Triumph, or other British sports car would pull up
beside me at a stoplight and rev his puny engine. lol Whatta hoot! They knew not with what they were dealing. Like this
one, it had both the hard and soft tops, which was nice, and was BRG with a tan interior. At a shade under 6'3", it was a bit
on the tight side but then I also weighed 175 lbs. back then and not the 225 lbs. of today. But like a lot of things from our
youth, it was fun while it lasted... and it didn't kill me, so thanks for that, Tiger.
