Yes, I wanted to add that because you wouldn't believe how much hate I (plus my Mum) were receiving because of this.
Schaaf can make any motorcycle go fast with his great riding and video editing. I bet he can ride a harley sportster and go nuts with it, even with a honda cub lol
You are obviously a very skilled rider, and know these roads like the back of your hand but this type of riding on the street takes a lot that is not under your control for granted. Ride safe my friend and I sincerely hope you have a good relationship with you guardian angel!

Schaaf, you say crap bikes don't exist but I bought a chinese 125 last year as my first motorcycle and it started falling apart in the first month. At this point the wiring loom ate itself. >.< Thank you for the fantastic videos Schaaf! I hope to see more in the future!

One would almost think you have done it before ;) Shame about the clutch lever issue on this particular bike, but shit happens. You dont have to acknowledge the negative comments, even though they kind of stick in your head. F*** em. We are many more people that love what you do!
Curious if you noticed a bit of front end head-shake at high speed and/or while accelerating? My 2010 did a bit of that and it was quite challenging to keep under control under aggressive cornering sometimes. Not tank slap or anything - just a bit of wobble.

It's unlucky you had that problem with the lever, I experienced something similar on my wife's F800R but it wasn't a loose clutch lever, it was all the bolts on the front end that hadn't been tightened.. I found out while cleaning it after a 200km trip... I guess QC isn't what it used to be. Anyway I got a Speed 94 "a anniversary version" and last summer I went on a tour on about 5600km one of the days I did 1200+ km. And the bike didn't have one single hickup during the tour, they are great bikes for sure!
I don't know much about mechanics, what should I listen to to hear the clutch problem? Also, where did you put the microphone to get that awesome "engine-sound-windless" audio? Great video, subscribed!
Hi, It's hard to me to be able to test the RS(due to my age the dealership doesn't want to let me test one, it's sad I know). How would you compare this against the standard Speed Triple, do you think it's worth the money?
Same thing happened to me on my 2017 SV 650. The clutch was a bit engaged at all times. I only noticed it when it went from 47.5bhp to 76. Freaked me out. But it was just a clutch lever clearance issue, i was relieved, just a bad adjustment.
Same issue with clutch lever on my brand new RS. Clutch wouldn't disengage and I had to ride like that for 10km. Finally went away after I lubed the clutch lever joint. Such a shame for it to happen on a premium bike.

I can't remember the input level but other than that I use highest quality wav. The recorder was placed inside the small storage box underneath the pillion seat
That's so strange, by 98 Suzuki Bandit 1200 just started doing that where the clutch slips under heavy throttle. I wonder if my problem could also be the clutch lever. I hope so, and that it's not the clutch itself
Nice vid. I guess you didnt get the full experience with the clutch problem, must have taken some momentum out of the equation. Once had a similar issue due to a sticky clutch cable on my old fz1, it really messes up the ride 😑
Those are stock mirrors on the RS. Triumph’s bar-end accessory on most of them. I’ve used them on my old anniversary edition Speed Triple and they work a treat.

Wenn du beim langsamer werden runter schaltest, gibst du wärend dem schaltvorgang kurz gaß bei gezogener kupplung.. kannst du mir sagen wieso du das machst? Ich mache das auch aber unbewusst und weiß nicht wieso.. :D

would you choose this one over the R version? if you've had the chance to try that one. i'm thinking about getting a street triple in a year or 2 and i don't plan to go around the track with it. Seems to me that the R version is a bit "better" on the street.
dafebeme2 Hi the first problem I had when I picked the bike up was when the sales person went over the bike with me he failed to replace the seat cowl so it flew off while I was riding home and destroyed it. Which wasn’t a so bad but I was told 8 weeks for a replacement part. Then I had electrical failure all lights stopped working the indicators stopped the horn and all the rider modes failed to work, so the bike went back to Triumph they had it for a week and said it was good to go. So I went to France for aweekends riding then the cruise control stopped working, when I got back took it to Triumph who said that when they fixed the previous problem they cut some wires by accident that worked the cruise control. By this stage I felt ginxed with the bike I also lost all confidence in the dealership full stop so I backed it.
Aha, that slip sound remind me had same mistake on my Speedy as well, I tighten the Clutch Lever a bit too hard, and lever can not return to close position for little while until I reached my mate's and had look, scared the crap outta me on thr way to my mate...haha, learn little thing everyday...lol

Das macht man, um das Stempeln des Hinterrads bei abruptem Einkuppeln zu verhindern. So kann man schnell nach unten schalten, ohne die Stabilität des Motorrads negativ zu beeinflussen. Du meinst etwas völlig anderes, und dennoch hast du recht, dass der Gasstoß im Fall der RS unnötig ist. Sie hat nämlich eine Anti-Hopping-Kupplung. In ihrem Fall mach ich es nur, weil ich es gern mache und es sich für mich besser anhört.
@@Schaaf : Du hast Recht, mit Zwischengas schalten ist nämlich bei einem Motorrad kaum möglich, weil dafür muss man Kupplung drücken/ziehen > Gang in Leerlauf > Kupplung lösen > Gasstoß > Kupplung drücken/ziehen > niedrigeren Gang einlegen > Kupplung auslassen. Geht nur mit H-Schaltung, nicht mit sequentiellen Getrieben. Die KTM 1290 SAS hat übrigens eine Anti-Hopping-Kupplung und zusätzlich ein Elektronik, die wenn nötig diesen kleinen Gasstoß macht. Ist sehr selten, dass der nötig ist. Aber wenn's Dir einfach Freude macht ist das auch ein sehr guter Grund!
Bruh, my ninja 400 slipped as well, without looking into it the dealership replaced the clutch plates under warranty, they test rode it and said it was fine. I drive home and my clutch starts slipping every time I gave more than half throttle.. 🙄
Schaaf - yeah that’s not normal. I hope you told the shop so they could snug stuff up. You’d be surprised what a difference a good setup after delivery makes for a new bike.
@@CockerTop I only borrowed this for a day from my work. Apart from this it was fine. And even with this annoying and embarrassing issue I absolutely adored this bike. Triumph 3 cylinders are my favourites.
Schaaf - I enjoyed mine quite a lot while I had it. Looking at getting back into the Triples, but can’t decide between a Street Triple or another Speed Triple... OR wait for the new Daytona. I’ve had all three (two Daytonas) in the past. Might just have to follow my instincts when the day arrives.

Friend of mine had the same clutch issue on 2017 Speed Triple R! Even at official Triumph shop they told him the clutch is okay and not slipping!

When he accelerated the rpm stays constant in some situtations. You can clearly hear it for example at 42 seconds (klick 0:40).

zero problems. The CB can easily reach a lot more than 100K+ kilometers

it wasn't that bad fortunately. I rode the bike for 3 days and only had the issue for maybe 2 hours. Then I realized what was wrong :)

So gleicht man im neuen Gang die Motordrehzahl an und es gibt beim einkuppeln nicht so einen Ruck. Im englischen nennt man das rev-matching
im deutschen nennt man es Zwischengas

Hat die Speed-Tripple ein unsynchronisiertes Getriebe? Das wäre ein vernünftige Erklärung für dein Zwischengas beim Runterschalten.

@@Schaaf : Du hast Recht, mit Zwischengas schalten ist nämlich bei einem Motorrad kaum möglich, weil dafür muss man Kupplung drücken/ziehen > Gang in Leerlauf > Kupplung lösen > Gasstoß > Kupplung drücken/ziehen > niedrigeren Gang einlegen > Kupplung auslassen. Geht nur mit H-Schaltung, nicht mit sequentiellen Getrieben.
Die KTM 1290 SAS hat übrigens eine Anti-Hopping-Kupplung und zusätzlich ein Elektronik, die wenn nötig diesen kleinen Gasstoß macht. Ist sehr selten, dass der nötig ist.
Aber wenn's Dir einfach Freude macht ist das auch ein sehr guter Grund!

Had a similar clutch problem on a test ride with a Ninja 400, I already thought it was unacceptable on this bike...
definitely is. Big shame on the Triumph
Bruh, my ninja 400 slipped as well, without looking into it the dealership replaced the clutch plates under warranty, they test rode it and said it was fine. I drive home and my clutch starts slipping every time I gave more than half throttle.. 🙄

Clutch was probably beat up if this was a demo-bike by the other riders. Shop should have checked it before you got on it...
it was not. It was just the lever which loosened itself. Once I realized it I pushed it back forwards and everything was fine again.
Schaaf - yeah that’s not normal. I hope you told the shop so they could snug stuff up. You’d be surprised what a difference a good setup after delivery makes for a new bike.
@@CockerTop I only borrowed this for a day from my work. Apart from this it was fine. And even with this annoying and embarrassing issue I absolutely adored this bike. Triumph 3 cylinders are my favourites.
Schaaf - I enjoyed mine quite a lot while I had it. Looking at getting back into the Triples, but can’t decide between a Street Triple or another Speed Triple... OR wait for the new Daytona. I’ve had all three (two Daytonas) in the past. Might just have to follow my instincts when the day arrives.
