Hoda is amazing at letting people talk! She allows people to tell their stories! So refreshing. I love her and I love Viola Davis. Wonderful, wonderful inspiring women.

Stories like this are why I literally never refuse someone if they ask for food or money. I was in the dollar store not long ago and a guy came up to me with some ramen noodles and fruit and asked me if I would buy them for him. I had the $3.50 so I did. We waste too much food in this country not to find ways to redistribute it. An auntie of mine used to say if you give to the homeless you'll end up like them. However, I believe in good karma. If you are fortunate to have food and shelter, I say pay it forward. It always comes back to you.

I have long been an admirer of Viola Davis and now I know why. Keeping secrets and dis-association due to trauma is a powerful form of self-preservation.

Thank you for saying..."it's a work in progress" I am 65 in a couple of months-my story has similar features to Viola's and I feel like I am never done tinkering with, owning it, and accepting me and my story. At times I wonder if I will ever not need to continue the work on me, and believe that the answer is no. The work can be exhausting but it stimulates my growth and evolution and it makes me stronger. Never give up on you Viola, keep up the good work on yourself, you are worth it, so am I.

I already loved Viola as an incredible actress but I love her even more. Such a strong person and a huge inspiration. And what a reminder of what all we have to be grateful for and how much we take advantage of.

My first memory of Ms. Davis was her role as the head nurse on "City Of Angels," opposite Blair Underwood. I knew she was going places with her acting career. Not surprised at all of her EGOT status. Now, I need her, Angela Bassett and Danai Guerrera to star together in an acting venue. That would be awesome!!!! Ms. Viola Davis is a Queen!!!

I stumbled onto this video this morning and WOW! What a powerful and inspirational conversation. Hoda with her beautiful heart, and Viola with her admirable strength in vulnerability. Loved every minute! I am currently reading Viola`s book and this complements the reading so well.

Read her book. A strong survivor. Crazy what she went through and how other African American kids suffered at that time.😢

I think it's cool she has had so many successes with her chosen field of acting. I think acting is cool. I am a writer but I love drama and the arts.

Does not matter how it is received as long as you are your authentic selves. I have always love your openness. You're so beautiful from the inside from the inside, it made you absolutely stunning on the outside.

Everytime a black woman makes it & gets a vast array of ethnicities to love them, they're hated & envied!Yet black men can marry outside their race, hang out with who they want & get a pass!

Imagine demanding people go see a movie about black slavers and then saying that if you didn't see it you're a racist.
