DISPATCH FROM SAUDI ARABIA

(21 Nov 1960) King Saud was at Riyadh airport to welcome his guest, Field Marshal Mohammed Ayub Khan, the President of Pakistan. Presently, the two heads of state left to begin their drive through the capital on the way to the King's Palace. There was a very smart turn-out by some of King Saud's forces, followed by a sword dance, performed in the guest's honour. As a true believer, President Ayub Khan visited that renowned place of Moslem pilgrimage, the city of Medina, consecrated by the position of the tomb of the Prophet, where he prayed at the sacred shrines. Then, in the holy city of Mecca, the President performed the Umra, and kissed the black stone, Mecca's chief object of veneration.
