    Dear people sad about not booking some roll. You got this it’s ok you can’t book every role but the ones you miss help you be better for the roles you book. Never give up you will book something eventually and there is always another audition. You guys are amazing. Don’t give up!

    Thank you so much for these tips. I actually went for an audition last Friday for a role in an upcoming short film. It was my first legit audition and I think it went pretty well; I mean I did everything you mentioned in this video. Not sure if I would get the part, so I don't wanna get my hopes up. Regardless, it was the exposure and experience that mattered to me.

      I’m glad to hear it went well! Do remember that this business is a numbers game, where a substantial amount of luck is needed, but our job is to put ourselves in the best position to achieve luck (acting well, having good audition interactions, etc.) Great job on putting yourself out there, wishing you all the best of luck :)

    This was a really helpful video, because I've heard different things about auditions, including the fact that you should/ shouldn't talk to the casting director so learning some points on this is really useful. Thank you.

      There’s this thing called ‘exposure therapy’ which in short means putting yourself in uncomfortable situations, so they become comfortable (the new norm). Robert Downey Jr. has talked about this a few times. One of the interviews I remember him mentioning it (if you’re interested in seeing it) was in his interview at Cambridge Union. Building confidence is something that takes time. It’s like a muscle, you don’t see results in one day, but if you continue properly working out, you start to see results appear over time. For this drama ensemble you’re participating in, participate in as many scenes and games and whatever else they will be doing that makes you nervous. If you want to get out of your comfort zone, the best way is to practice at it. Yes, this year you may be feeling nervous during these sections, but it doesn’t mean this is how you have to feel next year (if you put the time in to improve).
      Hope this helps, let me know if you have any further questions :)

    Great video my friend
    Very well summed up, "just a normal human being"
    My take is quite the same, as I always remind my self that these people, casting directors, are just as me, Want to do their work as best as they can and call it the day.
    Plus, we are all in this together, we have the same goal, to make a movie, its not me against them haha... Its US, they want me to succeed that's why they called me.
    Lastly, Ultimately the best way for me to do good in these auditions is to really know my strength as a person, to understand that I am high value, to appreciate myself, not in a narcissistic way, only merely for being a human being, as they are as well. We are equal.
    A matter of abundance.

    when you said you saw that guy at the audition and he handed the guy the resumé and you could hear, does that mean that ppl can see and hear you during your audition?

    • @TheActorsAcademy
      @TheActorsAcademy  4 роки тому +5

      You won’t be able to see others audition. While you are waiting in the lobby, you will sometimes see the interactions actors have with casting before they walk in the room. Sometimes you will be able to hear the actors audition, but that can depend on the situation.
