Regarding you "spamming" disintegrate: from PvE perspective, we call it "clipping". You clip after the third channel ends so the last channel will be added to your next disintegrate. If you want to clip a previous clipped disintegrate, clip at when there are two channels left. The purpose of "clipping" is to make your disintegrate do damage faster and increase your DPS. It's recommended to clip your disintegrate in dragonrage and when you are going to be full in essences.
Oh I love that theres an actual term for this in PvE lol. I've always called it Snapshotting disintegrates but Clipping makes perfect sense too! Thank you for helping explain that, I explain it almost every single video that includes my gameplay because everyone asks haha.
@@Grimlocked Preheat is a good PvE devoker that explains it in detail in his guides. That's where I learned it in S1 since the first class I leveled in DF was an evoker :D

Thanks man super helpful guide. Evoker is so much fun I started back mid season 3 for Dragonflight. I'm having so much fun with it now and I'm thinking of playing it through the new expansion coming out.
FIRST VIEW BEST VIEW I CLIMBED TO 4K CR IN THE FUTURE USING THIS GUIDE "29:43 Someone fact check me" i gotchu: icy veins and arcane surge both aren't purgeable. i think you were thinking of combust, which was purgeable just last xpac but either sometime in SL or at start of DF they changed it so you can no longer purge it. Still brocken into mages tho because we can tip and have 4 chances at purging alter, and you don't want shrouds into mages anyways or you'll just give the shrouds to them like a kind lil chap.
Your guide was super helpful and there’s a lot of utility that your guide help navigate through. For the utility such as rescue / verdant embrace / expunge/ living flame on teammates can I use mouse over macros ? I don’t own a 12 button mouse and I find it difficult to use all the utility effectively and using party macros/key binds.
Yes for everything except for Rescue, I think it's far faster and easier to use Rescue if you use a: /cast @*Insert Teammates Name/Party1 or Party2* Rescue macro.
I'm going to try out Adaptive Dracothyst Armguards first and if I don't really like them I'll go the when above 90% hp, gain x amount of mastery on a BIS crafted piece. The Armguards do seem really solid for devoker this season though.
@Grimlocked sounds solid. Im testing the boots, despite not having the ideal stats, 600+ stats after kick or stun is quite brusty and help when going for the kill.
Trying to get better at PvP and transition to evoker main here. I see that you have keybinds on WASD, how do you move when you have those? I know some people keybind S, but I like keeping my backpedal on just for easier positioning (like getting behind a wall without losing too much vision)
I move forward by pressing both my left and right mouse buttons down and strafe using z and c; tbh I've just been doing this for years so it feels normal to me but it's so not normal LOL.
Maybe I missed it - do you have recommended 3v3 comps for devoker? My healer will play anything. My dps is thinking about playing arms or shadow but can also play just about anything. We did decently well season 1 with devoker/aff lock surprisingly.
Oh awesome! My recommended comps are - Feral Devoker X (Fistweaver and Hpal are solid for this comp) WW Devoker Rsham Devoker Frost DK (Draco Cleave - Mistweaver is great here or holy priest.) DH Devoker Rdru or Hpriest are both really solid. I personally think Devoker Outlaw Rog/Assa Rog could be REALLY good with a good hpriest healer but it would take a bunch of practice. All of these comps are super capable of pushing pretty high rating. I'm currently 2.1k cr in 3s playing only WW Devoker Rsham.
I highly suggest Frost DK Devoker X, DH Devoker MW/Hpriest, or Unholy DK Devoker X really. All of those are pretty straightforward. I have also played WW Devoker Hpriest, Destro Lock Devoker Rsham/Rdru. All of the above are pretty good - I'm currently 2.5cr in 3s as DH Devoker Caster MW.
Hi, thanks for the guide. How do you put 3 gems in your necklace? When i try to craft legs mine says 489 ilv , i checked your and its 498ilv. What am i doing wrong? New to dragonflight i hope you can answer.
Hey! To put 3 gems in your neck, you have to buy an item off the AH that comes in 3 levels (Bronze, Silver and Gold) Bronze is stupidly expensive, you can buy 2 silver an 1 gold of the item and then use those to enchant your neck to give the gem slots. It's called Tiered Medallion Setting (Again - buy 2 silver, 1 gold, apply them to the neck in this order - Silver > Silver > Gold) You can only craft legs using the an item from the conquest PvP vendor, or the item you get for free from winning ANY pvp mode (BG, Skirmish, Arena etc.) It will boost it's item level to 528 while in PvP if crafted with that item - you HAVE to craft it with that item or it's a significant loss.
Hey! I got duelist last season in 2s on dev and I’m trying to break into 3s. Informative guide! I hate that our 2 set and 4 set is so strong in PvE but it’s like a 5k tick in PvP lol. I’m thinking about running with an outlaw rogue in 3s, would they be good or should I try boomie/dev instead to share kicks?
Hey! I definitely suggest trying out different comps for 3s, I do think Outlaw Rogue Devoker is pretty strong and can be really good with practice. Boomy Dev might be easier initially; with Boomy Dev you kind of just PvE damage to anything in LoS until it dies type of thing; while weaving in CC when you can (Root Beam, Deep Breath Stun etc) Both comps are doable though! Just note - Outlaw Dev will require a lot more skill then Boomy Dev to start.
@@Grimlocked Ty! Played some tonight, Outlaw definitely requires a lot of coordination and we're only at 1800-1900 right now but I figure when we get the hand of it, it'll be disgusting.
@@sh4manz Ay 1800-1900 right now isn't bad at all! Mmr is still scaling well this season and should continue to increase as the season goes on; I think this one will be relatively good for pushing! :)
Hey! I think 2 set is the most logical, but I will have to do testing with 4 set once possible. I think the lack of vers and mastery we get from the shoulders/legs/gloves aren't worth the 4 set at least currently. So most likely 2 set with crafted major pieces being Mastery Vers. :)
I do have a weak aura package but I honestly forget it's there all the time. It's just Mes' weak aura pack I think. I honestly use weak aura's purely to track my proc trinket proc, and weap enchant proc to line up big damage.
Definitely! I think it has a really really high burst and that helps substantially in Blitz/RBGs because there is no dampening to hinder any healing; being able to deal massive damage to a bunch of people within short periods of time makes you a pretty valuable asset imo. In TWW Mass Disintegrate from Scalecommander hero talents will just further help that imo!
Haste helps heavily with sleep walk cast time, deep breath for some reason scales its damage with haste; so some haste actually gives your deep breaths more damage; and fire breath does also scale with it. Overall I think mastery is far more important because it overall buffs our disintegrates so heavily and thats our main source of big damage.
It's lowest in PvE because mobs health isn't volatile like health is in PvP. As a fight goes on in PvE Mastery decreases it's value, where as; as a fight goes on in PvP Mastery continues to hold it's value and towards dampening Mastery actually becomes an incredible asset to devastation evoker. Very nice.
It's pretty good, I wouldn't say it's amazing - definitely not the worst, boomy in general is really good and if the boomy player is strong, boomy dev will feel strong.
