It is true that we should measure the living room area first so that we do not end up buying the wrong sofa, it is same with knowing the size of your bed so that you will not end up buying the wrong bed sheets/comforter.
I did not know about the monochromatic color scheme, and now I have more confidence in creating a color blend in our home.

My personal opinion though.... I think your rug placement is wrong
