hi there your scratch tutorials have been amazing :) .I have a question im saving for a rane one and was wondering have you used one and what do you think of it.and do you think the rane two will come out some time next year ?
Dude thank you so much for this tutorial! I've been struggling to learn scratching because i only practiced each scratch individually and with basic rhythm / patterns. With this tutorial i finally got through that barrier and i can apply the patterns you are presenting a well as the combos in various songs and in various ways! Thank you for liberating my mind! Keep it up! You rock!
I like the way you explained the different scratch techniques used to perform this routine. Thank you for putting out this video, i been looking for a video that explains the piper scratch .
Quality tutorial bro....Ive just got a controller and struggling with scratching after using vinyl for so long. You explain things in a way that I can understand and I thick as sh!t lol, Thanks for that
You have made it possible for me to understand the process of taking the different scratch techniques to help me with the percussion side that ive been told so many different ways but it seems to never have a connection with me and just wasn't sure how to use the techniques I have been practising with so much that i have been thinking what a waste of my time and money on extra software and now it is making sense to me unfortunately my laptop has give up so I will have to wait until I have found one i want to use probably a mac any thanks for your help and i hope to see more from you in future
When your doing the forward, backward, forward part at 20:31 I find it easier to put the platter on 33 so you don't have to spin it to far in either direction!
Wish I could set a damn cue point on this video where you first rip up the routine so I can keep going back to it haha. Awesome instructional thanks a lot for making it!
@Pri yon Joni, thanks for the great tutorial! Do you think that the DJ 1000 is good to learn scratching? At least the basic scratch I know that for some advance stuff you need the vinyl
i know this came out years ago but your prob the only person able to do a comparison on the ddj 1000 and the ddj rev 7 for scratching i know the rev7 will win but overall workflow im stil leaning towards this as this has been the layout ive been most use to im so stuck on which one will be best overall .. ive also listened to mixes from youself and other djs using both controllers and i could be being extra picky but the mixes done on the 1000 seemed to flow abit more convincing and sounded a little better to me
@@priyonjoni yet i stil want the rev too lol which one do your prefer for overall workflow and how your sounding ? and how can it fit better for me ive yet to use either i was more asking you . you had used both and have experience as a dj .. maybe u cant say which would be fair
I’ve been learning the scratches with jogs sensitivity all the way to the right and it took months to realise I sound better with lower sensitivity so now I learn again with new adjustments… what rpm do you recommend for controllers?
Great vid. I've been interested in learning how to DJ for awhile to include scratching. Any advice on equipment to purchase for a ground zero beginner? And, do you have any vids for people like me. I have percussion experience (band) so I'm familiar with timing/count (1& 2&....).. but that's as far as I go.
ls4life DLS when I started I use turntables. I personally didn’t like the feel of early spinning platters on CD decks (Numark V7, Denons, ect). I got into CDJs because it was the first deck that allowed me to scratch my own music. I’ve gotten used to it over the years and even learned how to scratch an even smaller stationary jog wheels on the little controllers. I don’t really care if people don’t view it as interesting. I have found stationary job wheels are more stable, less maintainable, and lighter to carry around; so if I can get past the “doesn’t feel like vinyl” and be able to do my scratches, it’s a win on my end. Not to mention, I can do way more with the extra controllers that I can’t do on DVS; like having an active CUE and PLAY button, an expansive tempo range, and absolutely zero wow and flutter.
Great Tutorial, really appreciate it. Why did you send the controller back? Is it not the closest thing to a club set up in controller form with Recordbox?
so your cut lag is at .7 is that your preferred spot, i only can go down to 1.0 with my pioneer 909 . but i think 0.7 is good, i use it on innofader pro 2. thanks for the break down
yes I know but how? What cable do I use? XLR to XLR? XLR to RCA? XLR to TRS? Thanks for the help man i appreciate it but can you just give me some more info plz haha
Him these can be looked up by googling the back of each unit. XLR outputs are male, and require a wire with a female connection on the output end, and a male connection to the input (your speaker). All XLR cables are female on one end and male on the other. If one side doesn’t work, then you reverse your cables. It’s just like how it is when plugging a microphone.
I'm thinking about purchasing this controller. Would you still recommend this or something else ? I was also thinking about the Denon Prime 4 for a little more money? What your thoughts, and the best bang for the money ? Thanks !
Digital Base in terms of jog wheel size and feel and mixer section, it is the DDJ-1000. In terms of using the same Rekordbox exported flash drive, it is the XDJ-RX2 and the XDJ-RR.
@@robbboynton5933 DJ Cash Money got the credit which had a lot to do with him being the first person into the DJ Hall of Fame. Jeff must agree since he has no problem with it.

Either you have not watched the video or you are pretty stupid... what is the gear doing instead of you? what exactly is the difference here compared to doing this routine with vinyl? the only difference is that the platter does not rotate as vinyl would... DJ Shaun Reed i assumes everyone would have their’s set to 33 since that is standard.

@@joegadberry3924 great starter controller! Has everything one could ask for outside of motorized jog wheels😂

RESPECT FOR THIS!

Great explanation ..giving alot away here
Bad ass yo! Great tutorial! The ddj 1000 is awesome!
Hey man! Do you know any other famous routines to practice scratching?
Very good explaining!!..Now I gotta go practice!!😜😜😎✌
How you like the felling of scratching on that controller? Would you consider spinning platter would be more interesting.

how did u connect it with your speakers?
Him I connect it using RCA cables on my desktop speakers, and via XLR cables at the club or on mobile gigs.
Hi nice work how many times did you scratch n witch value for the cut lag please
You got magic hands bro magic hands

I'm ok with up to 5ms with no timing issues when I scratch.
Great video! Whats your views on the feel of the jog wheels?
The link to the C.K. Johnson's peter piper routine song?
Stephen Zapata CK Johnson is a fraud. The Peter Piper routine he made is stolen audio from Serato and Jazzy Jeff.
How do you setup and connect the DDJ-1000 to KRK speakers?
Him by plugging them in.
yeah obviosuly i know that, but I mean like what cables do I use(XLR, RCA etc.)
Him XLR

Can you share some tracks

What pioneer record box controller is the most similar to a club pioneer setup?
Digital Base in terms of jog wheel size and feel and mixer section, it is the DDJ-1000. In terms of using the same Rekordbox exported flash drive, it is the XDJ-RX2 and the XDJ-RR.
Pretty much same way on serato correct ?
GQtheDJ that’s correct. To be honest, this is my first time using the DDJ-1000. The differences are minor in the sense of performing this routine.
You are doing a very good job. Keep it up?
Can I do this on The idj3 numark controller
Pop Borders my man got Stanley as his profile pic 🔵
He’s my hero.......Cuz!

Why couldn't they put a crossfader curve adjustment on the unit? SMH!
Just saw the native instruments S4 MK3, going to wait to see what’s that all about, coming out soon
I usually use my 2 1200s but im looking for something a lot lighter, I 1st was interested in SR2, then the SX3, the 1000, now waiting for S4 MK3

dont buy this controller . not work normal core i5 8gb ddr3 /Pioneer DJ XDJ-RX2 best
