Would you pay $3.95 in gold or silver coin? I sure would.
I miss Wranglerstar axe content like this. Thank you for creating and sharing, sir.
This is what attracted me to his channel years ago! I too, miss this salt of the earth content.
Me too! Great video.
@@joeysausage3437 many of what?
@@joeysausage3437 okie dokie
@@pineapplesideways3820 it’s amusing to watch, but the scary thing is not knowing if it’s an act or not. Kinda worried we’re gonna hear about a shootout or something one day just because the mail man came up the driveway to deliver a package.
We will never get tired of these proper tool repairs.
By far my favorite type of video from this channel. Hard to beat a relaxing Wranglerstar axe video... Miss these
Enjoyed the quick restoration video. I missed these types of videos you used to produce. Hopeful for more.
This is the type of excellent stuff I miss from Wranglerstar. Still a great channel but videos like these was the real gold.
“This is how the USFS repairs an axe that will be needed for defense of my wife, who I’ve spent years on getting to follow all of my rules”.
Dude , don't trash the sheath . Go to a sporting goods store get 3 bottles of baseball glove breakin conditioner. Gently rub conditioner all over ,Put the sheath in a Ziploc bag. "Drown " it in conditioner seal the bag ,place it in a warm place for a week , after a week check the sheath it will be soft and pliable again ,it will be alot darker but you will have the original sheath in useable condition.
As a cabinet builder for many years I had the same reaction you did when that handle popped out like that. What a beautiful sound. Almost sounded like a home run pop
Got my first axe the other day at a gun show for $20 its a true temper vulcan by Kelly works. Found your videos trying to re fit the axe handle as it is loose. Sure glad i found your channel, you have some good content. And to find out you're an Oregonian yourself makes it more sweet. I grew up in florence but now i call arizona home. I miss oregon dearly but to be honest I'm glad i got out of there before it turned into what it is today..
Like the old days of the channel. Keep it coming Cody!!
I've missed this type of content so much! Thanks for uploading!
An excellent restoration of the wedge on that beautiful old axe.
Thank you for sharing your passion for quality tools with us.
I miss these types of videos so much! It all changed after Christmas time!
How the US forest service gives me nostalgia...
Great video Cody! Love watching your axe/tool videos
Put lexol leather conditioner on the sheath it works amazingly well. It will fix dried up leather knife handles to like new. The Smithsonian uses it (I have been told.)
WOW something of quality that can be repaired without having to replace it on Amazon what a rarity
The handle is the Best part...perfect. You cannot find or buy or recreate that perfect ergonomical handle. ❤
Love videos like these! Thank you. Tool restoration and cat cameos is my favorite wranglerstar content
yes cody, this is what everyone wants, this is the best kind of video. I hope you do a sharpening of the axe as well! great find!
Nice to see longer form content. I know it doesnt pay as much but i think your channel is about more than money.
Thanks for this, Cody!
Always a treat!
Glad to see content like this again.
I miss the old style of content. Some of the equipment you have Cody is awesome. The motorcycle and small engine content gives me confidence to have a go at my own repairs.
But. Bear feet in the workshop is a little risky. I know you are trying to remain grounded but there is a time and place for everything. Keep the faith. D (UK)
The axe videos are among my favorites.👍🏻
Very nice! I just redid the handle on my old brush hook
I need to do that, I've got two brush hooks with cracked handles. Summer's coming! :)
While i'm not offended by any means at the idea of men only spaces, I need you to know that it's not just men here watching these videos.
these skills are essential for living, not just for living as a man.
and as not a man i really appreciate the info you put out here. it's useful for life today in america.
Super interesting to watch. Well done.
This video is what makes UA-cam great again!
Hi Cody! Can we see more of you in woods??
Nice, a video in the vein of what made me discover your channel in the first place. Love your axe content
Good vice is essential. One of first things when I bought my first home was to get a good vice made in Poland 50 years ago. Next was sewing machine, made also in 70' - good even for thick leather. Next was wood for my bench. I already had few axes, hammers, saws, drill bits etc. ... Since then I haven't got any good chance to buy good anvil... strange.
It's nice seeing you back at your 'roots' doing an axe/forest related video. Been a while.
Back to the basics. Love this content!
Looking forward to seeing your remake of the sheath. 🙏😉
What a timely video! Got a load of wet pine (yeah yeah I know. It’s not great firewood, I take what I can get), which did a number on my axe.
Hi, Wrangle, I'm a bit confused and worried why would u work with tools bearfooted? please be safe out there!
I agree it’s kind of unsafe. He doesn’t wear boots anymore because they limit his mobility. Or so he said. I wouldn’t recommend it.
I like your slide hammer adapter. Quality home made tool!
Back to the basics. Love!
It's official you need a snap on slide hammer kit for removing handle wedges amongst other things
A return to classic form. What is happening with Cody. I liked the tree and workshop videos of old. Of course he can do what he wants but some of the "act accordingly" stuff comes off as mental illness.
1:58 can't stop replaying that hickory snap.
Great video! Really miss this type content.
Very satisfying, have a great weekend!
i use to always make fun of this guy, but hes actually really smart and sharing important knowledge! so i re subbed , thanks wrangley star!
Love a Wranglerstar shop video!
Great video. Thank you
Love the axe vids are hopefully coming back out
Yes, more content like this please.
Vintage Wranglerstar, love it!
Cody, will you show the making of the new leather sheeth?
I'm curious the steel wedge you inserted that finishes it up does it matter if that goes cross ways or parallel?
gorgeous knife
That sheath should be easy to bring back (as long as it's not cracked) using some Saphir Rénovateur or mink oil.
I missed this
ooooo wranglerstar classic content! still good!
Looks great!
boston dynamics. good call.
Hello I got my first pairs of Levi 501s about a year and a half ago and started to get holes in them after a year and I got two more pairs about 3 months ago and I already have holes in them
Fine job!
Hey, I like the act accordingly stuff.
Love this content
Very nice sir
Absolutely, BROTHER.
what is your opinion on putting electricians tape on tools, my grandfather swears by it so he doesn’t lose them but i personally can’t get my head around it
I've got a couple of these from grandpa and great grandpa in the back with stamped USA on them. I'm gonna restore them
YEEEEEES old schooooool wranglerstar! lets go!
Cody I have a Collins double bit axe with a broken fiberglass handle. The head of the axe is still attached to the handle. How do I remove the head from the handle without hurting my self?
Great video, wish it was a little bit longer though.
Since it's broken just drill it in multiple places until it weakens then punch it out. Metric drill is best :) say 9mm
@@haventabaldy thank you sir!
Hello Mr. W, what mini rasp were you using? I think it's the perfect size.
What did you use to remove the old wooden wedge?
Beautiful axe. You are the Bob Ross of ProHo.
Miss this content man
You all wanted axe videos again, well here you go! Now give him a like!
Do a video on realoding ammo!!
Neat video, I didn’t realize you knew how to work on axes like that.
His channel was founded on axe content..
Some wholesome content
Could you get something comparable for 100× that price?
If you soak that sheath in neetsfoot oil or saddle oil you might be able to save it.
I've started going to garage sales and estate sales looking for old axes and hammers to restore. Zero luck so far. Well, lots of junk claw hammers. I'm thinking there must be other people interested in this too and they are better at it.
Glad to see you doing back to what made you so popular Codey. Perhaps some shoes might be in order though, especially working in a shop. I’m curious why you’ve decided to go barefoot lately.
Hopefully somebody uses one on you someday soon 🙏
Good vidio
I'm confused why you would want the wood to swell before you mount it. It will become loose after drying. Wouldn't you want it to swell after being fitted so it stays tight?
Is that caution tape on the deers antlers?
Can you do a review on a husky hatchet
I would call that a Hudson’s Bay pattern axe head. Made light for pack carrying.
When are ya making the sheath?
Cody, why do you strike the handle when seating it instead of the head? Thanks for your time.
This is the way.
@@haventabaldy is there a particular reason why? Does it seat the head faster? Does it prevent blemishes in the metal?
@@pauln9549 I believe it saves hammer on axe head damage. Works because the mass of the head has so much inertia it doesn't move initially when the handle is struck.
@@haventabaldy got it, thank you all for the help!
Inertia. The Irishman does this also
👍
What do you do when you have an axe head, with wood stuck in it, but no handle. What’s the best way to get the wood out so that one could put a new handle on it?
Drill through wood in multiple places until it breaks up and can be pushed/punched out.
Thank you
Leave it in a bucket of water fur a day then remove it. Once dry the handle will be tight. That’s how old farmers around here did it
if this content became a regular thing again then i would resubscribe
Yay! Another axe video again at long last!
Are all of your watches set to the same time?
The Hudson bay boys axes are cool and iconic, but sadly they're not that good.
The quality can be there especially with the Collins Legitimus axes, but the very shallow eye / poll depth is problematic and the pattern is notorious for the heads working loose.
They're definitely cool, but the very uncommon Jersey and Connecticut pattern boys axes are even cooler / better.
I see you spilled the oil again, it’s ok, I spill it everywhere too.
Knipex for the win!
love you
what jacket does he wear?
Did anyone else back up the video to hear that wood snap again at 2:00? 🇯🇲
