- The Simala Shine is a beautiful and amazing Roman Catholic Pilgrimage site located in Sibonga, Cebu! The design is breathtaking and incredibly beautiful! It is dedicated to the Virgin Mary as it has connection to miraculous healings from Dengue where it is reported that the image shed tears. It is an active place of worship. Believers come to worship, pray, petition for blessings, and at times confession. Others come out of interest and its beauty. All who come can feel of the beautiful spirit that is present there. It was a beautiful and sacred place to bring our children. I am so grateful they got to not only see a beautiful place, but feel of the beautiful spirit here of the believers.
This was part of the Cebu City tour that we took. We booked with Cebu Tours. We were very happy with the tour and it was the best priced Cebu tour!

Major respect to the family specially to the mom, though they're not Catholics she gave full respect and even offer candles the way Catholics are doing it, kudos and more power to the chanel
I have a new respect for this family who are of a faith that is highly misunderstood by other Christian faiths especially the Catholics of which I am a member. The respect shown by this family and the willingness to learn and teach their children of the customs and beliefs of others is a true act of Christianity. God has blessed this family. 🙏
l love this family, first foreign tourist vlogger I've ever seen visiting a catholic church even though they belong to another religion, GOD Bless you Backman Family. BTW, It's really a miraculous site, my Sciatica pain was relieved the moment after visiting that church last June 12, 2023, I hope & pray to Jesus through the intercession of the Virgin Mary to completely heal me from my sciatica pain.

This is a radical action you have done that you went into a pilgrimage site. I went there June of 2029 I felt her the Virgin of Simula's presence and read and saw the testimonies of those who came to asked her intercession and was healed canes wheelchairs etc and I was touch .. I continues to witnessed so many miraculous healing through her up to this day lame walks blind were able to see and cancer sickness get healed.. etc I love the BVM the mother of Jesus

Oh, I’ve been there with my friends last Wednesday, June 14. Paid a visit like my last was 2014. The shrine gets grandier and grandier. Mama Mary grants you your wishes for healing, blessing, and protection. Our usual stop is at Carcar for their tasty Chicharon (Pork Crispies) and Lechon. That day was so hot, we grabbed Halo-halo!

The miraculous image of Our Lady. Very similar to the the Our Lady of Akita. There’s been soooo many miracles of our Lady it’s incredible. I’ve never heard of this one, Our Lady of Lindogon at the Simala Shrine, but I would love to go there one day. I got healed of my allergies (I used to be allergic to dairy, eggs, nuts) after bathing at the grotto of Lourdes, France (Our Lady of Lourdes), and it’s just amazing, the miraculous power of all the images and sites of apparitions of the Immaculate Conception. Lourdes, Simala, Garabandal, Akita, Fatima, Guadalupe, Međugorje, the list goes on. Also, note the power of the holy rosary.

One thing I wish the Catholics would do that the Mormons do is welcome you when you go to their churches. They will talk with you and make you feel at home. We can all learn a lot about God’s journey for us through the example this family is showing.

Where else are u going in Cebu? Are u coming back to Manila or do island hopping in other areas of the Phils. U havent been to siargao, bohol, boracay, baguio and havent explored Metro Manila.
A word of Warning to the sickly and the aged, when you reach the top to see the Church to attend Mass, there is no restroom, CR or comfort room to relieved yourselves when you need to go, you have to go all the way down to do it. Congratulations to the Architects and Engineers who forgot that the pilgrims need a place to go when they need to. They should have a Big Sign there is no CR up there!
