    As the alleged "creator", or first cause, then he created people to do evil, in fact if that person was designed to do evil, and that creator god knows he will do evil, then the person cannot choose differently, must act according that that creator's foreknowledge and has no free will.

      Notwithstanding the conversation though, God ultimately takes charge of everything by providing justice to all, so that everybody gets what they deserve. Those that innocently lost their lives to wicked people or systems are given their lives back at the end and those that perpetrated evil against others also get their punishment, etc.

    Dealing with creatures endowed with genuine freedom of moral choice is not a simple matter even to God. So, God's sovereignty should be the one that takes human free will seriously. I'm thankful to God for creating me with an ability to reject God with my will. This means that that ability is in turn the capacity to obey God and love God. If the definition of sovereignty precludes the reality of human freedom as in Calvinism, it is not so much the divine sovereignty as a terrifying dictatorship.

    The gift of free will allows us to create things we desire. So the existence of things not of God's desire to us is a creation we alone have created. God allows us to create evil things because God honors free will and loves us so much that God does not interfere with your free will even if it is being used in an unloving way. This is because free will is God's Truth and God's Truth never changes. However, know this, sin is missing the mark of God's Love. What is God's Love is beyond our understanding of the reality of love. Sinning (missing the mark of God's Love) creates unloving things. Perhaps unloving each other for who knows how many eons of years to the point we perfected it and integrated it as reality. All while not seeing the actual reality that God gave us that is not gone and forgotten but written in all our hearts that we are meant to love those also who do not love us back.

    You are correct in the sense that there is nothing that God sovereignly either LETS happen or HAS happen…
    However, you are fundamentally wrong to assume that ‘sin’ is a moral infraction (rather than a spiritual condition as Scripture clearly teaches) - we’re not sinners because we sin, but because we’re sinners, we sin - biiiiig difference!
    You insist on assuming, as an unexamined theological/philosophical bias, that we possess ’free will’ (in the libertarian sense), which just ain’t so!
    When you properly unpack what in fact amounts to a commitment to ‘open theism’, you’ll in fact find there’s a real tension (in fact, dissonance) in your premises…
    On your argument then, you have to pray…
    “Our Father who art in heaven
    Hallowed be thy name
    Thy kingdom come
    Thy will be done in heaven, but not here on earth where my will reigns supreme…”

    Sovereignty means the right to control. The question: What degree of control does God assert? Determinism’s extreme claims that God hyper-micromanages everything. The opposite extreme would have no interference in human decisions at all (unless there’s something YOU want God to do). Between the extremes: God does just enough to achieve the goals that serve His purposes.

    • @samuelbarns118
      @samuelbarns118 Рік тому +2

      Exactly.
      So often the word is twisted out if recognition by those who want to push their deterministic views on the Bible.
      But sovereignty has nothing to do with control.
      It simply means "kingship" and carries a meaning of ultimate or highest authority.
      The term "sovereign Lord" being something similar to "God who reigns".
      But people will still say "oh, I believe in God's sovereignty!" As though that has something to do with determinism.🤦‍♂️

    • @ricksonora6656
      @ricksonora6656 Рік тому

      @@samuelbarns118 I wouldn’t single out determinists. That view does damage, but the opposite view has worse effects and is far more prevalent. That’s why I’d place the balance point closer to determinism.
      Sovereignty is a metaphor for a truth that’s even stronger that kingship. There’s a limit to even a king’s rights. God has ‘creator’s rights.’ His rights over His creation have no limit.
      God does not universally assert His rights. Because of His great love, He does not act only in self interest; because of His holiness, He always act righteously. But when He does act, we have no right to criticize; rather, we have an obligation to praise.

    Which of course I don't believe we would have freewill under the regime of a all-powerful God.
    Because there isn't any room for any.

      If you were a maximally great and all powerful being, who can essentially do anything you please, and create anything you please, and being the most powerful and perfect being in existence, why wouldn’t you choose to create some form of “living being” in your image, to enjoy you in all of your glory and perfection. Not that you would need to or that you would stand to gain anything you don’t already have, but as an example, if you were the most gifted musician that ever lived, only capable of creating the most beautiful music ever played, would you play it only in your closet for no one to hear? Or would you play it from the mountain tops, and biggest stadiums in the world, in front of as many people as possible, for as many beings to enjoy as possible.
      Now, how satisfying would it be to create a race of robots that simply followed you? Or would it be more satisfying since God IS love, and love exists perfectly between the three persons of the Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, wouldn’t you want to create living creatures that are capable of choosing to partake in that loving connection and love you as God? And if you want said “living creature” to love you, it must CHOOSE to love you, so you must give that creature free will, which means that some may not choose you. Choosing something other than God is called sin, and so sin would inevitably enter that type of universe.
      It may also be, that in your infinite wisdom as God you would be able to know of any possible universe created, which universal attributes are necessary to bring the most living creatures to choose you to love you as God. And it just may be that it had to be a universe that contained pain and suffering unfortunately.
      When we commit a crime and cause harm or loss to someone, the victim must be compensated to wipe the slate clean and the repayment or punishment is based on who the crime was committed against. If we kill a bug we don’t answer to anyone, if we get caught speeding while driving we break local state law and must pay a fine, if we kill an animal we may pay a fine or face some minor jail time, if we kill a human being we may face most or all of our Earthly life in prison, if we sin against God, who is infinitely great and infinitely holy, the repayment is also infinite. As finite beings the largest debt we can pay is our life, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:23‬ ‭ESV‬‬.
      But the death of our flesh is not enough to fully satisfy that debt, so our eternal soul must also face infinite death and punishment. If you are an infinitely holy God who is perfectly just, there is no way around this. You can’t just choose to waive your hand and forgive these creatures, justice demands a repayment. So who exists that can satisfy this debt against an infinitely holy God? No one, as the debt is infinite and only God is infinite. Also, since the sin was committed by man, man is responsible for this debt, so in order for this debt to be repaid, man must pay it, but only God is valuable enough, so God devised a plan where he would enter into his creation and become both, in the person of the God-man Jesus Christ. As 100% man, he is able to stand in our place as the representative or substitute for mankind, but the typical sinful man can’t do that since he has his OWN debt to deal with, you would need a man who also has none of his own debt, and since Jesus was sinless he was worthy to be our substitute, but also since he is 100% God He is infinitely valuable and is able to repay an infinite sin. Jesus dying on the cross was God’s only option if he wanted to create living creatures capable of CHOOSING to love him.

      @@someoneelse6618 first off, thank you for reading my whole post, I know it was long :). It really is a fascinating topic for sure. The holy Trinity is hard for even Christians to understand. Jesus is the one and only “God Man” which is also hard to comprehend. It doesn’t defy logic because He was both 100% man and 100% God at the same time. As Christian’s we believe we all have spiritual souls that are going to exist for all time. We just happen to reside in a finite body. The same happened with Jesus, He is 100% God which is spirit, but he was living in a finite human body which did die, and he resurrected into His new immortal physical body and ascended back to Heaven. We can’t even begin to comprehend the mind of God. We are like ants trying to understand a human beings thoughts, I think too many non-believers throw around comments like “God can’t do this, or God wouldn’t do that, or an all powerful being doesn’t need this”…we can’t put Him in a box, He can do whatever He pleases, and if He wants to make a creation capable of free will with the option to choose to live Him, who are we to say He can’t?
