- Just can't get enough SCAMP sailboat sailing. I went out with David and his boat Waka Atea. David is an expert on the water, but a novice sailor. This is his second time out on his home built SCAMP. So much fun to sail a boat you have built yourself! I think this may be his first solo sail. The last time I was in his boat with him. He is learning the feel of the wind, tiller, trim...we had a lovely day. We launched from Miller Park/Nick's Cove dock. The launch from the dock is easy, but the return can be tricky in that spot based on wind and depth. Have to watch the tides. On the way some nice fellows in a Lido came by to check us out. All in all, a great time. All footage is from my Insta360 3X camera that I had mounted to the hard dodger on the starboard side. Hard to be your own camera man and sail too! Fortunately, a 360 camera catches everything, so you can get what you want in post production.

Muito bom, lindo barco, bela velejada!
Thanks!!
Absolutely great day on the water, sailing Tomales Bay is such a great experince, like being in a different county. Good practice and we'll buff out those scratches on my boat for the next adventure!
Looking forward to it, my friend!
Grand day out for lads! Was there a couple of weeks ago. A shame about the wee house on the pier burning down. Great design for these waters.
What a nice, gentle day for SCAMPING. Did you have lunch on the little beach in White Gulch with the table? We were sorry to miss the fun Friday but look forward to next time we can go. Thanks for sharing your day on Tomales Bay on UA-cam so we could come along at least vicariously.
We had a lovely day. I went to a large beach north of there, and it was so shallow I ran into the sand about 20 yards off the beach. So I got out of the boat and walked her into slightly deeper water and then onto the shore. I ate my simple lunch there on the sand. So lovely. David just could not quite get there, and even if he had he would have faced the same challenge. So he just hung around offshore a bit and ate his lunch. To top it off my marine radio popped off my life jacket into the water, which seemed to have killed it! So I bought another one online that floats. Geez. So we could only chat by loud voices at that point.
Great ride! I love this SCAMP pocket ship!
Me too!!!
It always fun yelling to fellow boaters, trying to tell them what you are sailing.
love the Scamps!!
Thanks! Me too!
