Ive been using Makita religiously since forever. And I am actually glad Makita is now making batteries better rather than worrying about all the different systems it would have to work with
Yep. Lots of complaints that Makita didn't make XGT backwards compatible like Hikoki did, but that always comes with trade-offs. A whole new battery design allowed Makita to make the best battery they could.
I want that 8AH on a 1/2" XGT router on a router lift in my mobile workshop here in Canada. Also, I'd be curious if the 8AH improves the earth auger's capabilities.
@peterfroese8606 did they say there's a possibility for a xgt table saw? I have the milwaukee, UT if they make a xgt IL deff buy it. Even if it Dubble the price of the milwaukee lol 😂
I live in Canada! We just got the 5Ah here. 8Ah looks like a monster. I'd love to see the 80V rotary hammer with two 8Ah batteries just chewing through some concrete with some core bits.
Oh hell yeah, I want the 8 but I think my wallet will settle for the 5ah for my 9" grinder, the 8ah would be nice to have on the blower too so I could just go full ham without having thinking about battery life, but the battery alone will probably be $499 cad or even $549. I also want to see Makita come out with a dual 40v lawn mower to compete with Milwaukee's, although a kit with 2x 8ah batteries would cost a damn fortune lol.
I have no need for a battery this size…. Yet… but it is one I’m missing in my Makita battery collection! Also down in south Australia! Would love some battery mounts!!

We're getting into ebike territory here now. I'd love to replace the 15Ah/48V battery on my ebike with a couple of Makita batts... and a couple more in my handbag for when the first two run out.
I really wish they would make larger than 6.0ah batteries in the LXT line. I have the self propelled lawn mower would like to able to hook that 8ah (16ah on LXT) battery on it.
Just purchased the first of many new 40v tools, thanks for making me penniless... Oh and they have only just released the chainsaws in England, although no suppliers seem to know this yet!!

My boyfriend would be so happy to get this ! We live in Switzerland 🇨🇭and have A huge garden with many trees so we need a lot of batteries 🤣. Thank you for this giveaway !
Had the same thought, that and my 9" grinder and a demo gun for big jobs since the battery heats up much less so longer battery life in the end. I don't do big jobs often so the most use would be the blower, 26 minutes is a lot, plenty of charge for hiding around corners and blasting the wife with a tornado of air before ever having to charge lol.
Would love to help you get rid of some of those Stealthmounts for XGT to clear more space for upcoming 16Ah 40V batteries ;P living in VIC, Australia currently :)
