ALWAYS wanted a GN when new but 25-30K {what the dealers were asking for them} was out of my budget so in '87 I got a black/gold Trans Am GTA for 13,500 cash! I always liked Monte Carlos {had a '76 in Hi Skool 1982} & have been a Dale Sr fan since the 70s & my aunt had a blue '85 SS but they were just so underpowered compared other 'muscle cars' at that time, 160hp just didnt match the 225 I got in the GTA, actually more as I did some tuning on it plus it was way underrated, closer to 260-270! My buddy managed to get a new GN {his dad was our local doctor} & man did I love riding in it! One thing dude got wrong is that they only quit making the GN because they were doing away with the G body platform to go to front wheel drive platforms which they did the next year, look at the '88 Regal! My best friend had a 2002 black Intimidator Monte Carlo SS that came out right after Sr passed but unfortunately a drunk driver hit him last year & totaled it! Dude has a great collection going, cant wait to see the rest of his stash! Man I been collecting die cast since 1969 when I was living in Germany {born near Munich} & have a few thousand now & most since 1975 {the year I came to America [Georgia]} are unopened! Most consists of VWs, Trans Ams, MOPARS & muscle cars from all generations but have lots of rare European ones from the 60s & 70s! Have a great new year & see yall in the next episode PEACE LOVE n HIPPYNESS ✌💖☮

What about the late 1980's Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2?
Those Monte Carlos of that era were slugs, all show and NO go…
Check out our ride along in the video… we get an example of that!
