He's playing a version of Clark that's not separating himself from Superman. He's trying to deal being the title of Dad and Hero. I feel like that's incredible and hard lol.
His superman is not only top notch, but his Clark is incredible. He brings so much to both characters, the fact that he isn't the new DCU Superman is a fucking crime.
He is the best I’ve ever seen and I’m not a big Superman fan. He’s the right balance of everyday guy mixed with cool upbeat savior. He doesn’t act cocky, depressed, or any other way the movie Supermen have been.
He’s a dorky dad that can lift a mf truck and I’m here for it lmao
He is doing good as Superman, I was used to seeing him Derrick on Teen Wolf
I really like Tyler's version of Superman. He's a Superman who enjoys being Superman.
Shame he's written like he's supergirls lesser and not equal.

He’s been great!
I really like him as both Superman and as Clark Kent. i hope we get a lot more of him.
Damn a lot of haters had posted last year when this came out, wonder if any of the same people have watched the new show and have changed their minds. ...He's killing it in the role, imo.
I didn't like they cast Tyler as Superman and thought it wasn't the right person. Now , I think he is the best Clark kent and Superman. I apologise for my previous bias.
I can‘t wait for his “superman and lois show”

the best potrayal of superman since chris reeves. its also a major advantage being on tv, because you really get a huge exploration of his as both clark and superman. so far, he's just been absolutely amazing.
He was fantastic in everybody wants some, iconic mustache.
I hope we do get Supermen interacting with each other.
Derek freakin Hale!!
We love Derek
We need a Alexandra Daddario's Wonder Woman the face, The beauty & The physique is perfect
He’s got the superman chin. Maybe even a better Batman chin to be honest.
I like him as Superman, I just don't like how the show has used him. Only there to make Supergirl look better than him, when she really isn't.
That seems to be the only way feminists know how to "empower" female characters. To just belittle and beat up the male characters as well as making the males highly incompetent and the females overly competent. It's pathetic because it kind of shows how feminists really do believe males are their superiors and the only way to bring themselves up on a higher level is by tearing down males and bringing them down to the lowest level.
@@andrewvincent7299 Couldn't have said it better myself. Ghostbusters, The Last Jedi, Captain Marvel. All that crap. Alita and Wonder Woman work because they are great female heroes, not defined by their gender and their male companions are essential help, not fodder.

@@sm4carnageihope But Supergirl has always been stronger than Superman in the comics, since her first appearance. If you don´t read comics, just watch animated movies like Superman/Batman Apocalypse, or TV shows like Justice League Unlimited. Supergirl is stronger than Superman in official DC canon.
@@gabrielp9646 I have, that film doesn't showcase her being stronger at all, just that she's more unstable whilst he holds back. Massive difference.
Superman's power keeps getting stronger and stronger, she has the potential, but she has never risen to the feats he has accomplished.
Even if were true, it's no excuse to treat Superman like dirt so he can look better than him. Its insulting.
Tyler Hoechlin is the best Superman. He is comicbook accurate and belives in American values.
Tyler is an amazing superman!!
He was also the voice actor for sephiroth in the final fantasy 7 remake gaming series. He crushed it!

That should have a crossover with Supergirl and Superman fighting evil clones of each other
I was surprised he played Sephiroth as well.
This guy plays a great Clark Kent one of my favorites
His Superman is a decent addition to the legacy.
While Tyler Hoechlin hasn't been seen often on "Supergirl", he's been terrific as the Man of Steel. This is the version of Superman I like to see; who's charming, funny, earnest and approachable. The same sort of vibe I got from Christopher Reeve, George Reeves and even Dean Cain.
No love for Cavil??
@@Omnitrix8 While Henry Cavill wasn't really bad as Supes, he was ill-served by the scripts that they gave him, portraying the Last Son of Krypton as a brooding, stone-faced gloomy-gus who tears through skyscrapers like a wrecking ball; and seems to resent having to use his powers to save humankind, only seeming to care about his Earth parents and Lois. That to me shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the character on Zack Snyder's part. The ending scene of "Man of Steel" and the last few minutes of "Justice League" hint that he could play a more traditional take on Superman, but it's too little and too late.
@@DoctorPretorious616 The irony here is you don't understand Zack Snyder's Superman. When did he tear through skyscrapers like a wrecking ball unless being thrown by Zod or Doomsday? If he only cared about Martha and Lois, why did he keep risking losing his livelihood to save people around the globe?
@@zhengyingli While I concede most of the builing destruction in MOS and BvS was result of getting pinballed around by Zod and Doomsday, Cavill's Superman still slides out of the way of a tanker trunk being thrown at him that blows up a parking garage, that he could have easily caught! I said that CavillSupes didn't save lives, but he is often unsure of his mission as mankind's protector, and seems to resent it. He mainly seems to want to save this world because Lois is a part of it. Part of this approach to the character is because Zack Snyder is an Objectivist, a devotee of the philosophies of Ayn Rand; who preached the virtues of selfishness or "rational self-interest", and the evils of altruism. He's even directing a remake of "The Fountainhead", a film based on one of Rand's novels. This Randian rhetoric is hammered in two scenes in BvS, when Martha Kent tells her adoptive son, "You don't owe this world a thing. You never did."; and again before Superman sacrifices himself to kill Doomsday he says to Lois, "This is my world. You are my world.". In other words, Earth only has value to SynderSupes because it is his home and Lois and his mother live in it. This is further proof that Snyder never should been trusted with the Superman legend, because how can anyone who believes that altruism is evil ever really understand Superman?
@@DoctorPretorious616 If the tanker blew up in Superman's face, humans would've been extinct. If he saves people on Earth only due to Lois, how do you explain him repeating losing his jobs to save strangers before meeting Lois. Lois even spoon-fed the audience in MoS: "The only way you can disappear for good is to stop helping people all together, and I sense that’s not an option for you."
I also fail to see how rational self-interest in Superman is bad thing; Superman wanting to save others is far preferable than saving people because he's obligated to do so. In short, Individualism vs collectivism.
It's also of note that Ayn Rand's criticism of altruism is strictly against Comte's definition, not the watered-down definition we use nowadays which is often conflated with generosity. Comte, who coined the word, said altruism is the idea that one should give up all personal interest for the greater good even going as far as saying that if giving to charity makes one happy, that's not altruism because any enjoyment is a sign of selfishness.
I think Tyler is the best Superman even then Cavill not going to lie
I think Tyler is a really good Superman besides Henry cavils I really like Tyler’s Superman
Tyler has the Bruce Wayne Batman look
he was a fresh take on superman , more vibrant and good oposed to the darkness of henry cavill , i liked him in supergirl and his voice. plus omg daddario is so gorgeous
Cavill dark? We watched a different cavill I think
Cavill wasn't dark lol. WTF? You must be a hopeless pessimist if you think that
A great Superman, the only time he looks bad is when the writers wanna come up with some bullshit. If he got a show with good writers, loads of people would tune in.
It's great actually
Idk why people give tyler hate I mean he‘s not henry cavill level but he’s way more than good for a tv show
CoronaSuckss I actually think his Superman has been better than Cavill’s, at least in terms of his characterization.
@@Pogol13 the fact that people keep defending his "character" so much only serves to underscore that HE DOES NOT LOOK THE PART and that is a major problem when it comes to Superheroes. It's so painfully obvious they even added a joke about it in the show itself when his character meets Tom Welling's Superman.
Would you cast an ugly woman as Wonder Woman ? Of course not, ageless beauty is part of the character's defining features.
@@veemon9280 sure, henry cavill might look the part more than hoechlins, but look at his character, dialogue, storylines in Hoechlins - so much better. No offence to Zach snyder, but looking the part, whilst it may be quite a big part, won't help much with critics or fans
@@padawan1769 actually I watched the first episode of Tyler's new Superman series and it was awesome. Now that he isn't standing next to bigger former Superman actors like Brandon Rolfe and Tom Welling...his smaller stature is less obvious. Plus I think they added some muscle padding to the suit to make Tyler look bigger. Or he did some serious gym work, whatever it is, he looks much better in the suit this time. Now that he is in his own show and no longer playing sidekick to supergirl...it's much better. The new series is actually better than ANY of the CW shows. I just pray they keep it up and let Superman be Superman.

Derek Hale is the new Alpha in town
A very good Superman
Nah
I like his Superman, but he’s never given much to do, and I don’t believe he, or Routh, with have much screen time playing their versions of Superman. Much like John Wesley Shipp’s Flash was teased so much in last year’s crossover, yet hardly used.
Well I suppose you’ll be happy with the Superman and Lois show
Alexandra for the CW's Wonder Woman!
please, no... smh.
Zatanna
He needs to be Wolverine
Nah. He's too CW for the MCU.
I think Marvel has some rules against one actor working for a rival company
And yes there is Ryan Reynolds and Ben Affleck but that was like a decade after the flops of a movie
It will confuse audiences as people watch both, I don't think he's fit for Wolverine, he's Superman, he's too sweet looking
It should be someone like Tom Hardy or Justin Theroux but they all may be too old since it's not just a one time deal so Daniel Radcliffe may be a good choice, short, young and has the beard
He did a good job on his end, but the writers completely butchered the character and made him Supergirl's bitch just to prop her up and make her look better.
Well it's her show. I understand Supergirl can have the TV spot light Superman is more of a movie chacater anyway.
@@qsmusic8994 I understand the argument that she should win because it's her show, but it didn't fit the internal logic that they had established to have her be better than him. He'd been around as Superman for years and she was still very new. It was very sloppy and lazily done.
@@qsmusic8994 Felicity knocked out Black Siren with a punch, while The Flash and a mother effing car couldn't do that, it's just CW writers suck, it's just a lame excuse to say treat them shit coz it ain't their show, don't be surprised we know Batman is next in Batwoman, coz it isn't his show.

I agree i
I mean that's the goal for every tv show and movie. You shouldn't know the plot before otherwise why bother seeing it
He literally talked about not having pressure being Superman lol
Supergirl is a good show and stuff but for me it’s hard to believe the justice league which is most likely well formed and spread out in the world wouldn’t intervene for any of the crisis(s).
So... now Sephiroth can beat Goku.
You know what annoys me kryptonians are basically solar batteries the longer they're in yellow sunlight the more powerful they get. Superman has been under the Earth sun years longer than Supergirl and yet her characters supposed to be stronger. There's this thing going on where it seems to be necessary to make strong male characters weak compared to women. They pretty much of made Superman in the arrowverse anyways a little wimp.and I have no problem with strong female characters superhero or otherwise but I see no reason and taking a s*** on male characters and superheroes in this quest to make men look like s***
Superman and he is playing Sephiroth in the Final Fantasy 7 remake can't wait for it
Bravo Mc kinda funny since George Newborn voiced supermen in justice league and sephiroth

Tyler Hoechlin
Henry cavil all the way ,because he embodies him.
What is Alexandra daddario doing here

He’s a cool Supes. Cute for Arrowverse. DCEU’s Henry Cavil is still the better if not the best when it comes to live action Superman from the last 3 decades.
Henry cavill superman 'standing sad looking at a courtroom of people burning and a jar of piss'
Nah man.
Cavill's Superman was received so badly. Eeek. To the point where WB didn't even re-up his contract.

Agreed.
Who wants to bet that Superman DIES in this Crisis instead of Supergirl? Since Superman is basically useless in the Arrowverse at this point and his story is done.
I can see that! 🤔
Personally, I found it very odd for Superman to be portrayed as fourth-string hero during the Elseworlds crossover. In the comics, Kal-El (along with Bruce and Diana) ALWAYS played a major part in any DC event.
That would not fit the arc they have established. It is supposed to be Oliver Queen.
@@matthewgaudet4064 In the Crisis, multiple people die. And Oliver doesn't die, he just gets sent to another dimension by the Monitor. The Arrow s7 finale confirmed it. It's basically a ripoff of Earth 2 Superman's ending in the COIE comics.
Sean Powell that’s cause WB won’t allow them to use Superman to his full potential because of the films. That’s why Batman and Wonder Woman don’t appear on these shows.
It would even be more satisfying if Supergirl dies
CGI Reeves
I don't dislike the actor, but I hate how the character was handled in Supergirl. He said in an recent interview that he was there to support Supergirl. THATS just the problem. While I get that its HER show, even in a show about Supergirl, when Superman shows up, you support HIM! They could have written so many scenes in such a better way, instead the writers took a lazy approach and made Supergirl look stronger and better by making Superman less. What poor writing.
I'm agree....But DC confirmed that Supergirl is the strongest Kryptonian
Mo Amzil It doesn't matter. Supergirl can have her stronger part. However, what always makes Superman to be a Superman is he is the born leader. A shining model that everyone looks up to. They can let Supergirl be stronger in physics. But they shouldn't have taken the great part of Superman. Like the selfless, kindness and undeniable words to make you follow.
@@moamzil2856 Actually no. For a long while that was the ongoing theory, but Superman himself, after flooring Kara with one punch debunked that. This was in Supergirl (the comic) number 50something I believe.
But as others have said, thats not really the point. He is who she looked up to. He is who the world sees as "Earth's Champion", he is the one that had a Red Son story. The CW show isn't giving us a proper Supergirl show, they are giving us a Superman show with him being a female. Thats not who Supergirl is. She acts nothing like her comic book counterpart.
And every line they said that belittled Superman was 100% unnecessary. They only put those lines in to drive home that she was stronger in the show.
@@coldfire22 Not only in the show she's stronger, but also in the comics....Just search it up
Actually that's wrong. Read your comics

If he became the movie version of Super-man I wouldn't be mad. With some better writing, I think he could do it.
No offense to Tyler but I don't think he's handsome enough to play any version of Superman. In my opinion he would be a far better Bruce Wayne/Batman. He definitely looks more the part for that
I really love him as Superman. He's the perfect Superman/ Clark Kent. I don't like Henry Cavill as superman lol. Henry Cavill is very attractive and "perfect" but he is not very expressive emotionally and often comes across as cold and arrogant. I'm not a fan of his version at all.
