I started to feel a bit discouraged at first, but when I saw your Marker-Brush technique involving picking up from the palette, I think I found a method that works for me! Especially because I can use really cheap markers to do the job! Thanks.
I received tombow markers and adult coloring books as a Christmas gift. I’ve been afraid to begin coloring. Thank you for these well-organized and thorough tutorials.
I am a newbie. Your tutorial was excellent. You taught so much very clear and calm. Thanks for showing all the OOPS. it was hilarious, but it happens in real life. Love the way you brought solutions to your happy mistakes. First time i hear about you . THUMB UP UP UP! You are so transparent I do honor it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
id like to give some advice as well just because i noticed this with my pens. Its easier to blend some colours when theyre dried on the layers so you may have to wait for the layers to dry, ive even had 300gsm paper ripping up because ive not waited for my layers to dry.
I typically draw with sharpies and color pencil. I render the colors right onto the paper. I just bought water-based markers from Walmart thinking they would be similar to sharpies. My paper would get very wet. I didn't know this is what you do with these markers. Thanks a lot! :)
Agree. This looks incredibly tedious. If you want these effects it is easier to do in watercolor. Try doing a series of cross hatches with a fine tip marker, leaving it bare. Then with a damp water brush, swipe the hatching once with the water brush and the colors will meld themselves, allowing an interesting pattern. The pigments will settle into a beautiful pattern.
I have a question, what do I do? when ever I use my blender pen.. (from Ohuhu) my paper rips. its does not rip from my regular markers only with the blender. I use watercolor paper by canson
Idk if I’m doing something wrong or the materials I’m using is wrong but whatever I do it doesn’t look like it’s supposed to. Idk if it’s the paper I’m using because its old and I don’t know if it’s the paper, my markers, or whatever. Every time I try to blend using the Brush+Brush technique it just blends into the paper. What am I doing wrong?
Fantastic tutorial Verónica!
Wow, making this available for free on YT instead of just on Skillshare. You're the real MVP!
haha yeah! I really wanted to share it with as many people as possible!
✔️Just the video I have been seeking... .
The best illustration on UA-cam

Sharpies are alcohol based.
I use the lid of plastic cottage/sour cream containers for a pallet. Works great.
Excellent video tutorial on blending water based markers.
I can’t wait to try these methods. Great tutorial.
Very interesting! Tky so much from Quebec in Canada! 😊

Thank you!!
That was really useful, so thank you. I’m a relative novice when it comes to markers. Plenty of ideas here…
The brush brush blends are the best, but it kind of defeats the purpose of brush pens. Might as well use watercolors or other kinds of paint.

Hi there! How do you seal the artwork when you're done? I want to protect it from accidental exposure to water!
This was very helpful thanks for the great and informational vid :)
