Is it safe to put your knees past your toes when squatting? (Myth Debunked!)

  • The squat is one of the most popular and useful exercise that you can perform. But with popularity comes varying opinions. In this video we discuss the topic of performing the deep squat with forward knees. We find that previous studies have led the public to believe that letting your knees push past your toes during the squat would ruin your knees. As we see more recent research being published, the effects of deep knee bends are not as black and white as previously thought.
    By assessing the individual, we can determine the squat depth and technique necessary to meet their goals. By progressing them in a controlled manner, we can get the knee acclimated to working under a larger range of motion.

      Typically feet hip width apart and toes
      Pointed to out about 15 degrees. Toeing out is also dependent on how tight your ankles are.
