I think you could probably get the colors to be better by adjusting the settings, but what I learned from your test is that the FOV is too narrow for my purposes (racing drones). Too bad, it looks really nice. Depending on the use, looks like a damn good camera for the price!
The footage on the Eken looks alive, while on Hero4 looks dull. I'll definitely go for Eken H9. Worth the money!

The question is what do you need? For a small cam which gives low quality video the price is awesome! The best rate price/quality is Xiaomi Yi. I paid 500$ for a GoPro 4 Black. I don't take money from them, I tested a few action cameras. But the money is yours. You'll understand in the hard way.
The waterproof case for the Eken changes the quality so if they were tested on ground, the Eken would definitely win.
The Yi 4K can be had for $200 now (camera only). It is very nice and sharp; real 4K, not interpolated up.

GoPro is just a name brand product hyped up from everybody. Like clothes, some shirts are 100s of dollars but still a cotton shirt with somebody name on it that makes it expensive.

nope you can quite clearly see that the EKEN has a yellow tinge, colour and contrast just not as good as the go-pro but considering it has a £350 price difference im sure a little bit of colour correction will sort that out .

+Simon Ender To clear something up: this camera does NOT film in 4K! It does capture video at 4K BUT at 10 frames per second - yes TEN 10! Sucks shit. :)
However, the FHD 1080 option is ok and if you do not work for clients or on a professional basis this camera is a bargin. However, do not expect ultra blast quality. Resolution is probably NOT 14 megapexel but rather 4 due to the unsharpness when zoomed in. Moreover, as you can see in the video the color is not correct and as far as I could figure out there's also some issue with the ISO which probably is an auto function, say: the camera will correct brightness automatically.

+Simon Ender Your welcome. If FHD resolution is ok for maybe consider a GoPro Hero3 Black. This is a great camera but has the same bullshit at "4K" as the Eken = 10 fps. Still the Hero3 is great and produces nice picture quality and usually doesn't cost that much anymore when bought used. BUT, if you buy a used GoPro remember the former owner to reset the WiFi passwords!
+Cornelius Dobeneck It doesnt capture video at 4k dude. It's interpolated. Aka upscaled 1080p image = fake 4k or just shitty quality 4k.
+Robber7 I think I go for shitty quality 4K. However, its not video anyway. At 10 fps it must be considered continous "burst rate" photo capability or something. :)

Most people cand affort a gopro
Go pro is well advertised name. Go pro is not like an Apple product. There is no phone that works like iPhone. But there lots of action cameras that may give you the same quality experiences. So instead giving too much money for go pro ( %70 of price goes directly to advertises ) , I would go with cheaper cameras. No reason makes me buy *10 more expensive camera which will give me almost the same quality.
