Chiaki, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is a Spike Chunsoft game. You can't be playing games made by the same people who made you! ...well, except for ARG Iris, but that's only because of Uchikoshi parallel world shenanigans.
@@CDJAM-webm There is no GameFreak logo though. They are only mentioned on the title screen because they hold the rights for the Pokemons Designs or do you want to tell me that Creatures Inc. and Nintendo themselves also worked on the Mystery Dungeon games.
As someone who has played the originals and is even working on a Red rescue team rom hack, I can say with all certainty, you want the originals over the remake. So far I've only made it about 6 dungeons into the remake and already found 4 CORE features of the originals that was either removed/nerfed/buffed for NO reason. If you really wanna experience the rescue team games at their peak, I strongly recommend getting an emulator and playing the originals.
I mean I wouldn't really consider the price as much of a factor. The only reason I even mentioned emulation is because it's crazy hard to find a working copy of the original games.
I have another opinion to offer. I really recommend the remake. I think it’s much more enjoyable than the original and I’ve played it before. (Although don’t get me wrong the original is an absolute classic) . The quality of life improvements from the later games make it more fun to me.
@@GrimmFokko To add my two cents, I'm 14 hours in the remake and having a blast. Nearly everything about it is better. It's all the best parts of the newer PMD games with all the best parts of the old games, basically. The QoL improvements alone make it worth it.
Basic attack only did 5 damage anyways in PSMD and maybe Gates to infinity which Is what the rescue team Dx Engine is replicating. Basic attacks were already pointless with so many Elixirs and the move levels increasing PP Dramatically. For example in PMD1/2 Bubble had 12 PP, in PSMD bubble could reach a maximum of 40 PP. Or Icebeam which went from 8 to 30.
@@starmangalaxy2001 They were absolutely invaluable in the original game and I can't imagine playing the Chocobo game without it. Why remove the option? I don't wanna burn PP every single move, and this only tells me to just not play those later games.
@@UltimaKeyMaster Because you will want to use your moves so that they become more powerful and have more PP. For Example in PSMD my partner was Fennekin, so she got a lot of use out of Ember (which now functions like a fire type quick attack) to the point that when she learned Flamethrower, Ember was still the stronger move with more uses, but Flamethrower has more range. By weakening the free option and buffing the limited options, they not only added an additional way to optimize your team, but also incentivizes more inventory management as Max and Normal Elixirs became a more important aspect, and added to the challenge that PSMD is known for, not to mention that the loss of a basic attack means that Bosses are more likely to do something threatening. Though honestly I don't understand why people say Basic attack was so important, I never had to use it with a team of Squirtle and Pikachu on PMD2 as long as I stayed on top of my PP usage. Maybe it was much more important in the original Red and Blue Rescue team? Either way RTDX is almost guaranteed to balance its difficulty and item spawns off the fact that you will always be using PP and that you have a lot more of it, and even more as you approach end game.
@@goggles8691 Destiny Tower does exist in PSMD as a 99 Floor Dungeon with Arceus as a final boss. Also level reset dungeons were a thing there too, So just look to those to see what those dungeons will be like with the new systems in place.
Fun fact: In the NA versions of Explorers Of Sky, the game will soft lock if you try to evolve a Pokemon whose nickname is exactly 10 letters long as long as it isn't the most recent recruit.
Spike Chunsoft caused DSpair before it became their mainstream thing. But seriously, that's a seriously interesting glitch. That would personally scar me as a kid if that happened to me

Pretty sure that the real reason why you didn't know was because it was a problem exclusive to the first wave of japanese cartridges. Kinda hard to hear about a controversial error when it happened on the other side of the world in an era where many people didn't have the same sort of connection we have with the Internet that we do today.
Aw, I'm so proud of old nintendo. They were such a nice company that felt so close to their customers. I don't know how much they follow these old principles today, they're still pretty damn good at PR (public relations), but lord knows if they have the same magic as they used to. Anyway, I'll be taking notes of their skills. We're obviously ignoring some of their (and every company's) strange mishaps in the old days that include a plethora of probably propaganda.
Though, the new Eevee model in DX has weird leg models so it can't bend the legs right or enough 😌 It has been a few months since I saw someone review the model, so it might be different now?
The announcement of the remake made me very happy when it happened. Been playing the full game recently and I love it! The art style is cute, I get to be a Skitty again who is my favorite Pokemon, and it isn't a direct copypaste either. Despite what some people have said, there are many differences with this game to the original and they even added some new things! One of the parts I just played recently added in some extra dialogue which even though it wasn't much was a lovely touch! Never heard of this devious little bug, but I'm glad they were able to patch it out! And thankfully, the Switch version still allows us to rescue ourselves if we need to, so there is that!
There was a glitch on red rescue team version that i own that has a broken save feature. I couldn't even save my progress in the game. Luckly, I got blue rescue team that has a functional save feature.
I was a little disappointed by the switch remake. It's just too hand holdy & I wish there was a way to give it classic controls or something...Idk. It just feels like I don't have to do anything...Maybe I'm just remembering my blue rescue team & explorers of time days, but I swear that those games didn't baby you as much. Besides that though, I really like DX.
I had a glitch where an onix i recryuted was next to a lickitung i recruited and i walked thru a hallway to a dead end and the onix wouldnt move, and he was too big to push so i was forced to let him go
Oh god... Hilariously it is entirely thanks to pokemon that I think the advent of issuing videogame patches online was an amazing turn of events. No more mass recalls or hilarious distribution workarounds hopefully kabdalbdkd
My favourite broken thing about the original was losing the dive TM by dieing and losing all your items and not having taught it to a Pokemon, causing you to not be able to progress the postgame story

AFAIK the berry glitch happens after 1 year of real time since the start of the new game or battery replacement, then ingame time stops (ZA WARUDO!) for one real time year, after which ingame time resumes. The patch sets time forward 366 days if the berry glitch has not yet occurred, and sets the rtc date to January 2, 2002 (new game starts at January 1, 2000) if glitch has occurred.
-And how far Nintendo is willing to go to make sure players have the best experience possible... *useless your Joy-Con starts drifting* *Or about the fact that some glitches that make the game better and/or are cool Nintendo will erase, like the Assist Trophy Glitch in Smash Ultimate, or the black hole glitch in Mario Maker 2.*
I have Pokémon Dungeons DX and I love the game, but I have 2 glitches in it which kinda sucks. I know how to bypass one of the glitches. Glitch 1 (solved): Sometimes before going on rescue missions I won’t be able to talk to any of the NPCs. This is easily fixed just by leaving Pokémon square (go to the rescue team base or to the billboard) and you should be able to talk to everyone again. Glitch 2 (unsolved): This usually happens 3+ times in a dungeon for me. Sometimes at random it will make me use the look around feature, but whenever I click the B button to turn it off it just comes back up again. The only way I found to get it to turn off is to press random buttons. I’m kind of curious if anyone else has had these glitches and has found a way to solve the second glitch I have, and if anyone has found help on how to fix the first glitch
I think the time glitch in Ruby happened to me? I broke my GBA SP, and I barely had my DS Lite at the time, so I decided to play Ruby on it. To my suprise, the very moment I started it, the game said "The internal battery has run dry. The game will continue as normal, but time based events will no longer occur." I thought it was because I put it into a system that has a functional clock or something like that, but I never figured it out. At least I transfered my Shiny Chinchou to HeartGold before I lost it… and then I lost HeartGold soon after.
What? Reread what you just typed. The battery in your cartridge died. Send it to a repair shop for a low fee and they’ll replace it, or just look up how to do it yourself to save money. Seriously all you have is a dead battery my dude
I can't believe all this informations can be packed in less than 5 minutes... I believed the video was over 1 hour long... Dialga is messing with me!!!
That's only a temporary fix, or at least in my case. I used some cleaning fluid on my drifting joycons and it seemed to do the trick but they started drifting again just a few days later.
I have an old ruby cartridge with the berry glitch. I didn’t know there was ever recall for it. Oh well too late now lol. Also my switch lite has the drift already and it’s only a few months old *sigh*
#TheDerpG.-DerpyGames I’m assuming it would write the event to the save file of red rescue team. But if it wasn’t there, it would just overwrite anything. So my guess is the developers messed up an if-else statement. Meaning that it always rewrote the save files even if it wasn’t red rescue team
The game notices there is a cartridge in the GBA slot so it writes where the Red Rescue Team save data would be. Except... they forgot to check the GBA cartridge's magic number in order to know if there was actually a Red Rescue Team cartridge in that slot.
I remember hearing about this glitch back in the day but I didnt know that it was only a Japanese thing I never put anything in the other slot cause I didn't want to lose my data

I ask that you do more research into the thing you mentioned near the end, please. "Problematic voice artist", be it He or She, are under NDA, but in the case of Male Byleth, he was removed because he violated this NDA, not that he was a particular problem for them. A similar firing was issued against one of gaming's most recognizable female voice, the voice for Shantae, for replying "yes" to someone asking her if she was the voice of so and so character from a game, *after a trailer had released.* Truth be told, he kind of went out of his way to try to get help for not being such a bad person, that it's all part of not being around certain people of the internet, but all of this is unrelated to his firing.
If you're wondering, the original VA was Chris Noisi (Yes the same one who plays Alex from YIIK), and months before the game's release (or more accurately hours after the release of Male Byleth in the FE mobile game, Fire Emblem Heroes) he admitted to sexual allegations as well as having a breach of his NDA (Non-disclosure Agreement. Basically the contract made sure that he wouldn't reveal himself to be working on the game/s pre-release) . Because of this, the Three Houses team had to undergo damage control immediately, and changed the voice. Now to show how quick it was, only after a couple of days they re-released that same trailer but with a new voice actor (Zach Aguilar), and while it took some time they added a new patch to replace the voice clips of Noisi in the main game New Male Byleth trailer: ua-cam.com/video/9VTL5EkDIjY/v-deo.html Voice comparison of the old and new Byleth voice: ua-cam.com/video/gfBNYxG3n0Y/v-deo.html EDIT: It has come to my attention that Noisi was mostly convicted only bc of this breach of NDA, and had cases of domestic abuse not sexual assult

@@CDJAM-webm Chunsoft made the game themselves. Gamefreak had no part in creating it and is never mentioned in the game.
@@CDJAM-webm There is no GameFreak logo though. They are only mentioned on the title screen because they hold the rights for the Pokemons Designs or do you want to tell me that Creatures Inc. and Nintendo themselves also worked on the Mystery Dungeon games.
I am really happy that they made the remake! I never got to play any of the PMD games so this will be a nice introduction to them!
@@megaman37456 and also being free while the remake is fully priced..
@@GrimmFokko
To add my two cents, I'm 14 hours in the remake and having a blast. Nearly everything about it is better. It's all the best parts of the newer PMD games with all the best parts of the old games, basically. The QoL improvements alone make it worth it.
Wait, so this ISN'T about the remake removing the basic attack for absolutely no reason?
@@starmangalaxy2001 in red rescue it was definitely gonna be important for those 99 floor and boss fight dungeons
@@goggles8691 Destiny Tower does exist in PSMD as a 99 Floor Dungeon with Arceus as a final boss. Also level reset dungeons were a thing there too, So just look to those to see what those dungeons will be like with the new systems in place.
al of a sudden, i became so much happier that I waited to get a DS and instead played the read rescue team game as my first time PMD experience.
I agree! Rock Slides are terrible!
Fun fact: In the NA versions of Explorers Of Sky, the game will soft lock if you try to evolve a Pokemon whose nickname is exactly 10 letters long as long as it isn't the most recent recruit.

Joycon drifting?
Nintendo: NO GET THAT OUT OF HERE
Remember when patching was a rare occurrence due to it necessitating a full-on recall?
I love that your daughter is drawn with hair twice her size.
Spike Chunsoft caused DSpair before it became their mainstream thing.
But seriously, that's a seriously interesting glitch. That would personally scar me as a kid if that happened to me
That's kinda unfair since this mistake was pre-merger- it was just Chunsoft at the time.
Hahahaha the wholesome salt about joy con drift at the end. Love it.
Hey.
Whats the best Pokemon to do the

@@bazankreed7094 Youre sure?
Isnt his move-pool rather 'random'?
funny how i never knew about the glitch nor the special mission thingy because i only played Red Rescue Team.
Funny thing is that there is also a soft-locking bug in the remake
luckily it's on the switch so it can be patched soon!:)
Removed Problematic Voice Actor from game
Was he ever found guilty or are we taking a job away from someone for an unproven accusations?
That shiny Zigzagoon also came with Extremespeed as one of it its moves. It's actually pretty awesome!
Linoone gets extremespeed anyway, it wasn't a unique move.
Hearing people uncomfortably say the word "problematic" is my trigger. Now I'm angry.
Well, get the hell over it. Because it was.
Though, the new Eevee model in DX has weird leg models so it can't bend the legs right or enough 😌
It has been a few months since I saw someone review the model, so it might be different now?
No, still the same. Is very unlikely they would change the models at this point.
A bug that ruins all your data is the worst kind!!
0:18 And the crying at the end? (Technically spoilers if you never played mystery dungeon)
I'm currently playing Explorers of Sky for my first game, and watching Chuggaaconroy play the Switch version. He's probably outpacing me though
That jab at Kirbopher. Hit deep.
I’m still sad that i can’t see my teammates in their camps ;(
The announcement of the remake made me very happy when it happened.
Nintendo: sorry for the accidental mass deletion, here's a single shiny zigzagoon
lol the graphics on the new one are so weird it can run on the wii ;-;
Going in I thought this was going to be about the glitch where, if you quicksaved before selling something in a dungeon, you could sell it forever
There was a glitch on red rescue team version that i own that has a broken save feature. I couldn't even save my progress in the game. Luckly, I got blue rescue team that has a functional save feature.
Luke Salmen sounds like a dead battery maybe. If you’re talking about right now in 2020, then yeah probably a dead battery
I have an emerald cartridge that’s batteries have run dry. Berry bushes also don’t grow. Not sure if it’s the glitch or not though.

Why is Pikachu's nose pink? Clicking this video I thought it was the aforementioned glitch.
I remember this. It didn't happen to anyone i knew, but it did make me apprehensive.
I had blue rescue team and a GBA cartridge in my DS when I watched this. Scared the life out of me 😁
2:50 is the actual glitch. In case you hate filler
Much similar to when there was a flat backup battery in the Gen2 games for GBC.
Me using the mission generator to get 500 golden seeds
I still own these games, and I will keep them until they no longer work.
I prefer the originals to the remakes and I don't want to ever lose mine...
-And how far Nintendo is willing to go to make sure players have the best experience possible... *useless your Joy-Con starts drifting*
*Or about the fact that some glitches that make the game better and/or are cool Nintendo will erase, like the Assist Trophy Glitch in Smash Ultimate, or the black hole glitch in Mario Maker 2.*
I played red rescue team on gameboy so I never had this problem on mystery dungeon. I did have the berry glitch though
If I was a kid and liked shinies I would have went nuts with the zigzagoon
Thank you for the lesson!
My god is the is why my Pokémon Red Rescue copy would erase all my data every time I turned my DS off????
No that sounds more like your cartridge had a faulty battery
Your cartridge’s save battery was bad.
@@weirdboo Since when has a GBA cartridge had a battery in it? Plus, it's been gone for over a decade now.

The drift problem can be solved with a swab with some cleaning liquid on the tip
Also my switch lite has the drift already and it’s only a few months old *sigh*
who knew i could've gotten a free shiny zigzagoon when i was little because I had the berry bush bug
Why would it even touch the save data in the first place if it wasnt blu rescue team

A similar firing was issued against one of gaming's most recognizable female voice, the voice for Shantae, for replying "yes" to someone asking her if she was the voice of so and so character from a game, *after a trailer had released.*
Truth be told, he kind of went out of his way to try to get help for not being such a bad person, that it's all part of not being around certain people of the internet, but all of this is unrelated to his firing.
I'm still sad you can't explore the friend areas/ camps in the new game!
I love Nintendo as a company. Funny thing, my birthday is the same as Shigeru Miyamoto.
I thought it was the thumbnail hinting it, since pikachu's nose is pink here
Wait, what happened with the FE3H patch and that voice actor?
If you're wondering, the original VA was Chris Noisi (Yes the same one who plays Alex from YIIK), and months before the game's release (or more accurately hours after the release of Male Byleth in the FE mobile game, Fire Emblem Heroes) he admitted to sexual allegations as well as having a breach of his NDA (Non-disclosure Agreement. Basically the contract made sure that he wouldn't reveal himself to be working on the game/s pre-release) . Because of this, the Three Houses team had to undergo damage control immediately, and changed the voice. Now to show how quick it was, only after a couple of days they re-released that same trailer but with a new voice actor (Zach Aguilar), and while it took some time they added a new patch to replace the voice clips of Noisi in the main game

Voice comparison of the old and new Byleth voice: ua-cam.com/video/gfBNYxG3n0Y/v-deo.html
EDIT: It has come to my attention that Noisi was mostly convicted only bc of this breach of NDA, and had cases of domestic abuse not sexual assult
