It is a fun device and prices are great, but the tiny screen and some sequencer quirks made me get rid of it. Nevertheless I appreciate having had the chance to try it!
@@SONWU i can totally understand it. As i love the sequencer the buttons on the analog keys are a bit to small for me so i ended up swapping it for an analog four but now digitone is my new love. But i miss the the analog sound and digital noise of aalog four ☺️
@@0e0 I just got another one after regretting selling it, but some LED lights were defective. Luckily I bought it from a shop in Japan and they offered to send it to Elektron and get it repaired :)
Thank you! Analog Rytm out, Analog Keys in....the gearjunkie approves. I only do this, because I wait for good deals and sell for a profit...otherwise I couldn't afford it :D
Congratulations on the AK! I've been enjoying Pigments 3 for sound design. It's not as fun as a piece of hardware, but it's easy to make some really interesting sounds.
Thanks Paul! Also thank you very much for joining my Patreon 🙏 I haven't used pigments myself, but heard it mentioned very often. I guess it is very capable. For me hardware is the way to go, but everybody has a different workflow and for some DAW + VSTSs is the way...and none is better or worse than the other.
Thanks! I am aware of that and should have mentioned it. The problem with this is that the encoders will probably have a shorter lifespan, when doing this. Especially since the mk1 encoders seem less durable. Which would be my main reason for upgrading to an mk2 again (along with the OLED)
Not completely identical. The AK has a dedicated Multimap button, which let's you play the multimap from the internal keyboard. I think that's not possible on the A4 itself. Also the AK has a bit better bass than A4 mkI. There might be some other dedicated buttons I can't think of right now...aaand then there are the individual outs, which the A4 mkI doesn't have either.
Must have accidentally cut it out…I used the elektron sound pack "spontaneous chords". It allows you to play chords with a single voice! So you still have 3 free voices. It's well worth it
@@SONWU Yeah I mostly do the same. I saw you are based in Japan? Me too! The way this is going we are going to end up buying some gear from each other! haha
@@HanjoSynth Haha cool! Where are you based? I'm in Niigata. Well, I wouldn't mind trading (saves the mercari fees) ;) If you are interested in getting the AK, let me know...as I am thinking of possibly upgrading to the mk2. ✌
Hey man great content as usual! I was wondering if you ever got to play around with the novation circuit tracks and what are your thoughts on it? Thanks!
Hey, thank you! No, I have never had any Novation device. The Circuit Rhythm would be the most interesting to me, but I got my sampler duties covered ;)
I love the Analog Key, worked so many years with it and it's definitely worth to get one!

GAS season 01 episode 3. 🙈 Congratulations awsome synth for an awsome musician !
😂 Haha, thank you very much!....I need to make a separate video on the GAS problem soon, I believe.
Another great video, my friend! Really glad I stumbled on your channel!!!
I am glad you stumbled upon my channel too, I really appreciate the support ✌
And the elektron collection is growing xD Congrats on the purchase. Looking forward to what you may do with it.

Hi, when turning an encoder press it down, now you can adjust the values in large steps....and do your filter sweeps. Enjoy your new machine!

@@SONWU Don't lie, you clearly didn't know or you would have said!
Awesome. Great machine. Didn’t sound like crap. And I think you can have values change quicker on encoders if you press down the knob and turn.
Thanks, I know. But in practice I don't like the push + turn. I should have mentioned it though ;)
Is the AK identical to A4 mk1 but with the addition of keys and a mod stick?

@@SONWU I have A4 mk2, I was sold when I saw its performance mode. It sounds like theyre ever so slightly different overall.
One day, I'm gonna get this. I've tried the MKI and MKII and this seems to have a more usable layout. Shame no QPER knob but is there some equivalent?
If there was an mk2 AK it would be perfect…so didn’t like the tiny screen and how the knobs work…other than that the AK is an amazing instrument!
Wie hast du die hihat beschleunigt oder mehrfach getriggert? Super videos
Sorry, Ich habe den AK nicht mehr und kann mich nicht erinnern :)
Is it possible to record the joystick mouvements ?
Sorry…don’t remember
No It’s not but you can record the aftertouch where you can put mainly the same parameters
O cant see some chords creations in this live.

Man gear rotation here is getting intense! Very cool buy (:
Yeah man....a bit too intense one might say. But I always buy used, and mostly make a profit when selling. That's how I can justify it :D

So do you have analogkeya and A4mK2?
only have the A4mk2 left…but I think the Analog Keys is brilliant if you can cope with the old screen and encoders.
Man da hast du dir aber was gegönnt, Coolio..
Gönnungsmeter steht auf 100% ;)
