    The Elektron Analog Keys can do Multi Map. You can play different patches on each key if you want - or different zones with different sounds, and even specify special sections of the keyboard to play external MIDI. So many possibilities here. And this is a tutorial of how you do it.
    Cheers

    Awesome! Already a few years old, but for a new A4 MKI user it is super helpful.

    I think you should do a video of you explaining your process for creating your music, your ideas about music, etc. even if it's just you sitting at a piano and talking It would be interesting just to see your view on what music is. I don't know, just a thought. Love your videos man

      Plexus I'm flattered by this. I mean, I know I have a sort of talent for melody making, it often comes easily to me, but when it comes to finishing stuff I'm struggling. So I don't think highly of myself when it comes to stuff like this. But perhaps I should take your word for it, and do this. I have heard a few people askinging me for this over the years. It's just such a big task.. hm.. I don't know where to start :) Let me try, ok. I'll do it. Not right now, but I'll do it!

    Cuckoo is the official Manual to all things Elektron.
    On Elektron's site they should just link these videos where the PDF Manual download is located.

      ***** Great! Good! This is precisely why I'm doing this. It's such a great feature, and it shouldn't be a mystery to people. It's there to be used.

    Great tutorial! Thank you so much. One question : when you use multi map can you also use grid recording or only live recording? It seems I saw you only using the live recording when recording the drums sequence. Will try when I'm back home. Cheers.

    Great explanation, very clear, but I think elektron could make this easier. Set the sound, press desired key, its mapped! I really hope we see an analog keys mk2

    hi cuckoo, I am a big fan
    I would like to know if you have any tips for beard maintenance as yours appears to be growing more luscious every video
    thank you for the great videos and also the great beard

    • @truecuckoo
      @truecuckoo  9 років тому

      Ha ha, that's the greatest question I've got so far :-D Beard.. It's like with hair.. Some have lots of it, some have more sparse growth. I don't do anything to maintain my beard. Sometimes I just cut it straight off, and that's it really.

    I would love an AK but not got the room. :(
    What functionality is missing on the A4? I have a controller keyboard.

    • @truecuckoo
      @truecuckoo  9 років тому

      Cool thanks. The AK has got a better layout imo. I can work faster with the AK. But perhaps it's just a matter of getting used to the A4. The joystick is great, and the resolution and refresh rate is probably higher on the AK internally than over midi. But, it'll totally work over midi too.

    If you're still reading the comments here, @cuckoomusic I'd like to know how did you trick the sequencer into having more triggered sounds per track per each step? I mean the hihat thing at around 15:30. I get it that it's done using the replace trig, however doesn't that eliminate the recorded one form the multimap? I hope it makes sense what I'm asking.

  • @Dijkshoornvideo

    Hi, Cuckoo, thanks for helping me out. Just one question: when i want to save the drum sounds to the soundpool i get the message that the soundpool is full. If i delete all the sounds in the soundpool, can i still use the Elektron as i'm used to?

    • @truecuckoo
      @truecuckoo  8 років тому

      +Nico Dijkshoorn the sound pool is local to each project. So if you've trig linked sounds from the sound pool to any trigs in some of your patterns, those patterns will play whatever sound is located in the same slot in the pool. If you haven't used any sounds from the pool, just delete them.

    Can you do this with a regular Analog Four and an external controller?

    • @truecuckoo
      @truecuckoo  9 років тому +1

      Yes you can, but it's a little bit more menu diving. One of my Patreon supporters wrote how to do it in a comment here www.patreon.com/posts/analog-keys-map-3192097
