This kid is painfully embarrassing but what I’m even more shocked about is that there’s quite a few people in the comments believing him. That’s really worrying.
I wouldn't say he is "normal" If this is normal then what is abnormal. I just can't see myself going into a school and taking innocent lives I can understand how people can kill out of anger or revenge but to go into a school and start shooting kids unprovoked? That's not a normal thing I've never had that thought come to mind
he literally murdered 17 people and some of you are feeling bad for him, you should be thinking about the victims, he ruined so many lives, so many families, even the people who weren't injured, the trauma that the will have to deal with for the rest of their lives is horrific, HE is to blame, not his family, not the "voices" or the devil, HIM, he chose to pick up that gun and shoot 17 people. because he could. because he wanted to. stop feeling bad for him.
I'm with you... too many people are feeling sorry for this shooter and THAT IS WHAT HE WANTS. Don't give them the sympathy and attention they are craving.
I don't feel bad for the shooter, as soon as they pull the trigger they stop being human, though, Idk about this kid but so many are created not born, there are sick people in the world and instead of rooting them out or teaching love and kindness to eachother we let them create monsters. There is a sickness in an overpopulated world, we have to figure out where it starts and how to fix it.
Not just slap a bad guy label on the end result, look at how tf this keeps happening, 1% of dogs will go mad and attack without reason, atm its like 10% thats 9% more dogs going feral than there should be.
he is a lost soul. I do feel for him, and we need to understand what happened and why. He is a symptom of a lost world that is getting more and more lost every day. I have questions. I think more could have been discovered if the cop had not been so sure he knew all the answers while talking to him. He lost a chance to get so much more information. Never discount the spiritual as a reason or a cure.
If you are interested, he is following the classic "Reid technique", just a little out of order in certain places. He's also implemented a small amount of the PEACE method in certainly places (I don't know if he knew it at the time), but that very unusual in the states. The Reid technique is being phased out by almost all countries bar the states, so I think this guy has gone out of this way to implement both methods, which makes him much better than most.
@zuck diggerman The other end of torture is the PEACE method, which the US does not use. The US is the only country firmly set on sticking long-term with the Reid technique, even though it has a much higher rate of false confessions with the young and mentally ill (In this case his age may apply, his mental state does not as a personality disorder).
The interrigator is takeing advantage of his weekness i am way too strong without medication he couldent do that to me iyd never commit a crime anything like that but iyd be jumping frogs happy
There was a recording from the shooter, days before the killing. In the taping, he described what he was going to do, the gun he was going to use, how many people he would kill, and how famous he would become. If one is having auditory hallucinations, there will not be this much planning involved, it would be more spontaneous. His mannerisms in this video presents as one who is acting out of guilt, not with psychosis. Obviously, he is disturbed in some way, to do what he did. However, knowing between right and wrong doesn't appear to be lacking.
He still could be a Schizophrenic. The guy who did that shooting in the pancake house was. He should have been arrested long before, but the school did not want to tarnish their reputation.
This kid is a liar. There are no voices. He just mentioned that to make an excuse for his actions. Bottom line, he was a miserable kid, that had a fascination with guns, has no friends, and he hated society because his life was not going anywhere.
NO EXCUSES !! my great grandma raised me, my parents were drug addicts, i was bullied in school almost everyday due to my issues, i was crieng everyday, never had friends, didnt want to eat lunch sometimes because i wanted to avoid people i had nobody to sit with, i felt so alone .. i still have plenty of issues and i never harmed anyone! No excuses!
@haleystarwars4life. That’s a hard way to grow up. I understand bullying, I had to fight for my sister who was bullied but I was tall & large & learned to fight. I’m sorry you didn’t have anyone to help you or just be a friend. Keep the faith know you gained strength & had to be strong mentally to make it through. Sending blessings for happiness & love in your life. 🙏❤️
Females tend to turn our anger and pain and trauma inward and become depressed. Males tend to turn their pain into anger and in rare cases with these psychopaths and sociopaths they kill others thinking that will somehow make them feel powerful and happier.
This Detective is a BSO Detective with the ( Homicide Division ). He retired from FLPD after a Stellar Career with a impeccable reputation. He has been in LAW ENFORCEMENT for over 30 plus years. They don't come any better than him. I believe at one time he worked with VCU ( VIOLENT CRIMES UNIT ) at FLPD. I have known him since 1990 which is 32 years. You could not meet a nicer and more dedicated man. He has had nothing but the best things said about him. The most no nonsense person you could ever hope to meet. Very friendly and serious too. Tough but Fair. He actually listen to people. I could go on and on but I won't. I have always been one of his biggest fans. Everyone loves him.
Totally agree John Curcio is an excellent police detective he’s firm but he’s fair and really intelligent of doing his job I would make a good friend to him
So patient, even tempered, even when suspect says shocking things, Detective remains calm, even, non reactionary. His down to earth interrogation draws the suspect out of his shell.
You all have got to be kidding me. He is clearly trying his best to put on a show here with his fake “voices” please stop feeling sorry for someone who pre meditated innocent kids being slaughtered. It’s beyond disgusting. The detective is doing an excellent job here and doesn’t believe his BS either
Yep, it's bs, he didn't for the attention. He was mad at the world because he didn't have what others had so he took it out on school kids knowing people would remember him for a long time.
Even if he's lying only a sick person would do what he did. Something is definitely wrong with this person. Sadly a person with mental illness can snap at any time! I'm not at all on his side I'm just saying something is wrong with a young person wasting his life like this. To all the families that lost a loved one may God keep you strong. 🙏❤
There’s no real feeling sorry for him. It’s just sad a parent didn’t do what was needed to raise a sane young man- being a parent is the top priority in life.
I hope zach can visit cruz the last time, if he does receives the death penalty knowing once his day come it will be the last for him and his brother to see the person he grow up with gone. I kinda do feel sad if it does happen. Zach shoulded treat him with more honor and love in his life
Jeez, that part where his brother came in almost killed me as a father. It was like he then realized what he did and I believe that sobbing with his brother was real. I know the guy killed a lot of people, and I'd hate him if one of my kids were one of his victims, but we have GOT to learn how to identify and address mental illness in this country or this crap is just going to continue.
It's crazy that someone this young would choose to ruin his life like this intentionally. It was a nice day in Parkland, sunny, and he was a free man. Anything was possible. Things change in life. But he chose darkness and prison for nothing. It's bizarre.
Just comes to show the devil never sleep’s. I honestly also feel bad for his parent’s…imagine how mentally tortured they will forever be with hundreds of questions of what they did wrong or how they could have prevented.
Demons are real and our cultures misunderstanding of it is a serious issue. These things are only confusing when you think demons aren’t real and God doesn’t exist. Jesus is the only way and we need to fight against spiritual darkness.
Well said brother, refreshing to see someone that isn't blinded ,today most just use the name of Jesus as a cuss word when he is very much alive and the answer to all their problems. And yes ,demons are just as real as you and me ,the Bible clearly states that our war isn't against flesh and blood but against satan and the demons .People only see the physical things happen but don't realize that there is a spiritual war going on behind the scenes.
@@RT-qz5ci stop falling for the bs these sick people spew.. religion is just another thing used by scared sick people to feel better that we all have to die one day and it comes to an end.. don’t sit here and agree with this kid that demons are the reason he did what he did.. no Jesus would save him and no demon can force anyone to harm another person. He is a sick and scared individual with the mental capacity of a 7 year old that was told no. You people that try to blame sick actions like this on anything but the person committing these atrocious acts are what’s wrong with the world…🤦♂️
Lmfao, Not funny that’s why I’m laughing, of course wanting a lawyer is a right, Especially for ppl who committed crimes especially as severe as this kid. His life is ruined now, Yes, because of his decision to get revenge as a bullied kid, is what he did justified, well not really unfortunately but at least try to understand. He sounds defeated & never thought about the consequences due to his situation as a victim, The Victim being in trouble isn’t a new thing & doesn’t only apply to this case
@@rayanhuss5952 no. absolutely not. I am not gonna let you defend him for this. its sickening... AND it was near me. about 20 min away from me. please...
Ladies & gentlemen, this is what it looks like when a sane person trys to impersonate an insane person. He was very calculated & methodical in his actions. This is not what psychosis looks like.
Yup I get that amber heard vibes of lying and gaslighting from him. He is aware there are cameras and he wants to show he is mentality unstable so he can get a lower punishment and some sympathy
I don't believe a sane person could do such a thing i believe he's a an evil monster who deserves everything that's coming to him. We need identify all the root causes of what creates such monsters. One of these issues in this multi variant problem is something known as "the boy crisis", there's a great Ted talk about this issue.
That detective deserves a five star service. He was the best interrogator I’ve ever seen. He was compassionate, patient, understanding, kind, nonjudgemental, and showed empathy. I thought he was a therapist, he act more like a psychologist. Kind loving soul!!!
Honestly takes more sociopathy to be a detective like this man is than all of those very nice things you had to say lmao. He's pulling off some very sociopathic behaviors effortlessly.
@@hankhill3417 you probably haven’t seen other interrogation videos that’s why u say that. He is there to ask questions only not to dig deep n show compassion.
From a mental health perspective his brother actually broke through to the shooter. By telling Nikolas that he loved him and that he was sorry for treating him badly, Zach immediately broke down Nikolas' defenses and, I believe at the moment they hugged, Nikolas genuinely realized the terrible things he did earlier that day. Just like so many other things about Nikolas and his pre-shooting cries for help, if his brother would have said those things to him 24 hours earlier, they both might be fishing today, or on double dates with two nice girls, or something nice...not Nikolas Cruz locked in the Florida State Penitentiary for the absolute rest of his life, and Zachary Cruz now living far away in Virginia. We have to start treating people better in our lives, or we will have more tragic stories like that of Nikolas and Zachary Cruz.
I feel so bad for his brother, Zach. You can see and hear the pain in his voice. That poor guy… you know he is so genuinely at a loss and he was there for his brother and he wants answers and it was heartbreaking to hear him say “what would mom think?” right away. “I told you after mom died that I had your back”. Feeling like it was partly his fault, I can’t imagine the guilt he feels and it’s not his fault but he will always feel that way. Just another thing that monster did.
I feel like he was trying to tell him he was sorry, because he wasn’t getting any answers when he asked him why. He was making peace with his brother and himself.
That’s his JOB. They are supposed to stay calm. He’s paid to be professional yet many are just paid to get the praise they do not even care of the people they step over and leave out
Yeah I don't think I could stay calm interrogating this guy either! Or call him Buddy! I think I'd be more Dirty Harry about dealing with this little Punk murderer! Him crying fake tears when the cop gets water and saying loud enough "just kill me" is so pathetic!
@@Thunderbyrd. i know op is being kind with the praise but yes he is trained to be calm, because if he isnt he wont get answers and may get into legal trouble himself. He has probably encountered far worse ppl than nikolas
He never once asked about the people he killed and injured. It was a "poor me, I need attn". I feel sick for his brother, the detective and every person harmed by his actions. 4 years later and a 4 month trial, and now Uvalde....
@@redoksunflower Because if you are actually feeling guilty about what you did, or if you actually were under the influence of a "demon" and not in control of yourself, you would be instead asking about the safety of the people who were shot but survived or those who at the time may have been in critical condition.
Did u really expect him to ask???? This wasn’t no mistake he shot up a freaking school if he was to have sympathy he would not have went in that school and open fire 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ he killed 17 ppl injured 17 hours before this video…and he planned this clearly he didn’t care
This is a top-tier interrogator. Everything he says is composed. For all of the questions, he either knows the answer, or is looking for a type of answer. He is steering this perp along a road but in total control. He is keeping just the right side of playing the overbearing Dad and an understanding uncle. This cop is a pro.
That’s literally any interrogation unless it’s a cop killer or something like that. They need information to make their case and yelling at them usually doesn’t help. Especially for sensitive losers like this chump.
It’s amazing how he goes from non-verbal to self harm to hearing voices ( trying to say he’s crazy and the voices made him do it ) confused, trying to get out of those cuffs 🤔🤔🤔🤔…what most fail to realize if you’re going to be crazy, you’ve got to play crazy the whole time 😂😂😂😂…
First of all my heart goes out to all the families that were so affected by this senseless act. Please don't be sorry for him he knew what he was doing when he picked up that gun in my opinion I feel he should get the death penalty. It won't bring those victims back but I feel that's justice
Why shouldn’t we be able to mourn the victims and have empathy for this young man at the same time. If you’re looking for someone to blame you need not look any further than our law enforcement and mental health systems. There were numerous chances to get him the help he needs but he was passed around like he had the plague. They might just as well have planted a bomb in that school
Wouldn’t keeping him alive be the worst punishment tho because he’ll have to think about his actions everyday? But idk he’s crazy so I doubt he even cares about what he did. It’s just messed up all the way around. He needs to be punished more than the death penalty
I could not have said it better, C K. I feel like he knew exactly what he was doing and is only behaving this way because he got caught and his life of freedom is gone. I know this might sound cruel but I think he should get a death sentence for each life he stole... but I think he should get executed for each life, get brought back to life and executed again...17 times. My heart absolutely broke for each family when I was watching each of the victim impact statements in court. I also don't think he should have been able to waive his right to go back to the school when the jury went this past week. So tragic.
This kid's life was truly f'd up. He had no family who wanted him after his parents died, he was already screwed up before that, he wasn't loved, and he clearly has major mental health issues that were ignored even after the school knew about it. The system failed him and every person who died that day. I find that terribly sad. It was preventable if only people did their jobs. There was a history of his terrible behavior. He was on the radar. There's many more like him out there that fall through the cracks. Our system is terrible at dealing with mental health.
I think this detective is really great at his job. He’s so good at being a grounding force, and not getting carried away into whatever delusions Nikolas may have. He’s compassionate, without being unrealistic about the situation. It’s such an awful situation… I’m just pointing out how good the detective is.
I was bullied everyday in school, never fit in, cried alot.. i was bullied for my problems i had.. i felt like i had no friends, i was angry at people, but i could not see myself ever doing this!
I’m generally against the death penalty... this has been the first time I believe that this is exactly what this young man deserves. I say that shamefully, as I struggle with feeling this way. I’ve been watching this case play out in court, heard from the parents about their beloved children, whose lives this man snuffed out before their time.... I cried during some of the testimonies, as I watched for any ounce of remorse from this Monster-none. The survivors, and witnesses, broke my heart. I have zero sympathy for him. Absolutely zero.
I feel exactly the way you do. Well said! As a mother I can’t fathom why anyone would slaughter young children and have the nerve to walk out of building and head to get a cool drink! Really!! No the parents have the life sentences … he shouldn’t have the same!
The way I see it, if we can kill innocent babies why the heck can’t we kill guilty people who are guilty without a doubt. No need to keep them here. Either use them in heath experiments, or get rid of them. Even if they find religion, move it along and maybe they will do better in the next life.
@Lateasha Smith Yes, yes, Patty. In the trial , the prosecutor goes over the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. He walked up on people who were down and wounded, he then executed them. Victims were shot, some 9-12 times. Example, the Asian boy was down already and shot 12 times.
@@JC-vq8eq he's clearly pretending to mimic specific mental illnesses. if he has anything at all it would be a personality disorder, and that wouldn't include any of the symptoms he describes. so yes he's mentally ill in a sense, but he's still pretending to mimic specific symptoms. he intentionally hyperventilated to try to start a panic attack. there's nothing sincere about what he's doing to those of us who actually have the symptoms he is mimicking. he suggests he started hearing voices 15 years ago! he was 4! this manifests around 15-17 or mid 30s. he's a liar. and one voice wouldn't drive a schizophrenic to psychosis, it would likely be many voices and the voices specifically make the person extremely paranoid. i think someone who experiences schizophrenia could explain it better than me though.
He is faking. The first time the detective left the room Cruz realized his situation and pretended to put a gun to his head in frustration. That is not the attitude of some psychopath who is following the command of evil voices, that is the attitude of someone who knows he had F’d up and has heavy consequences heading his way. The fact that he played games with his memory, and hid the truth was an amateurish attempt at pretending to be mentally incapacitated. I don’t think the detective believed him for a moment. There is evil in the world and Nikolas Cruz is living proof.
Well he's telling you he heard voices to kill. What do you think that is? Do YOU believe in God? If yes then how does he work on you? You learn from him through the Bible. How do you learn about Satan? The internet, the violence, the murder on TV, video games etc. You can be influenced by the choices you make, some who study the Bible cannot be influenced by Satan especially at this age because they've taken on Jehovah's qualities even if it's still not perfect. When these kids say ' voices' you better believe it. Notice they didn't hear them anymore once they have achieved some death, the demons let go. On to the next one. It's all about the blood. That's what they wanted here, because they know God is the life giver of it all. Satan challenged God's right to rule in Eden, with lies. He still roams the earth now. This is a result of it.
"The fact he played games with his memory, and hid the truth"... wow. Deep insight. Quite interesting you know how it's done, I do too, and it's not good. Mark 4:22-23 (KJV) For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
@@australien9455 I was actually applauding the insight, but if you want just the Word of God, then here ya go... Matthew 4:17 (KJV) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
2:19:02 His deliberate crying to make people feel sympathy for him, while he knows he will never see freedom ever again, makes me appreciate my life and my freedom a lot more. He had everything going for him in his life. His life was NOT bad before the incident. He could’ve found happiness in his life, but he chose not to by doing what he did. He took his life for granted. A week after the incident he probably felt better, until he sat in the court and realized his poor decisions resulted in no more freedom, and no hope of life getting better.
I wish more people would understand that. It's the little things in life that keep me going - petting a dog, enjoying a fireplace, listening to music. Never trade those small things for something like that.
He still had issues that needed to be addressed, and even worse he had no coping skills on how to deal with them maturely. just because he had money and lived in a nice house doesn’t mean that a persons life is perfect.
Now the penalty has been delivered. And his "victimization" somehow saved him from the death penalty. After watching this video, I further understand why the families are so angry. And like many say in the comments, this detective is a pro, the best. He nailed it! I am amazed at how the detective walks that fine line between empathy/compassion and hard-nosed/no BS dialogue---total pro!!
I think out of everyone, I feel horrible for the families affected by losing their kids, but also his brother, who obviously cares for Nikolas and now also lost him in the process. It’s a sad situation all around.
bad catechesis. God Is Love, not lust which is sin. Understand The Catechism of The Catholic Church. There is no Salvation outside of The Catholic Church. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is hundreds of times more powerful than a solemn exorcism session.

His brother, Zach is amazing. He was being more mature than his brother, he was trying to be understanding, and loving without dismissing what Nikolas did.
Trained professionals need to evaluate him, victims need justice, the people who love him need to face the reality of his crimes, along with their broken hearts, the rest of us need to deal with the threat of homicidal people.
The detective is really good here, making light of his fake emotional play acting, being casual and telling him to speak up like he’s being a shy little child. Hard to put on an act when you’re not being taken seriously.
When he recorded himself saying he was planning an attack, he looked very determined and aware of what he was gonna do. He didn't look like this at all, therefore he's starting to realize what he's gotten himself into. I'm sure when he was planning everything, on his mind, he thought everything would go in a different way and he'd get away with it. He knew what he was gonna do and knew it was quite wrong, but someway or another this guy thought all of that wasn't gonna bring him real trouble. The best thing authorities could do is to keep him away from society, since they'd be in danger!
He's finding out the difference between thought and reality. A lot of people don't realize the full weight of consequence before it hits them. For whatever reason they disconnect the end result from the action until they come face to face with it. Unless they are a true psychopath in which case they dony care regardless.
He thought he would of been killed...or kill himself but he chickened out. There was no plan to spend the rest of his life in jail or being put to death after 20 years on death row.

I think one of the hardest pains to deal with and to feel guilt and shame is to be forgiven/loved even when you’ve done the absolute worse act imaginable. His brother showed immense strength, courage, maturity and love. Even to someone who doesn’t deserve it.

I think he was angry, frustrated, feeling sorry for himself, and decided with full presence of mind to do what he did. Just my two cents. I think he really wanted attention. His brother's gentle and caring approach was wonderful.
@@millennialodyssey5956 he was competent enough to operate a firearm and successfully took several lives. Who cares about his mental health at that point.
@@oakmen4604 everyone's should. Not because of him, in this very moment, he's a perpetrator. But for the future, for others, to stop useless deaths from happening. He killed people and why should we care about his mental health? Simply because it could be your child with severe personality disorders, which aren't specifically caused by parents or friends, it could be more complex, going into genetics. BUT THERE ARE SIGNS - we HAVE to study, because saving one kid with any kind of sign or symptom of any possible mental disorder, sometimes saves 20 others, too. Not a single ounce of compassion here, but common sense. Emotions are one thing, logical thinking another. (and maybe stopping the bs with the guns would also do its part, just saying)
As someone who suffers from hearing voices along with visual hallucinations, it’s really a case to case basis. I don’t think we’ll ever know whether he was lying about them or not. Everyone who experiences psychosis experiences it differently
Exactly. 100%. I also have psychosis and so many of his answers made me go “yep… that isn’t how it works buddy.” I don’t doubt that he’s mentally ill, but he’s not suffering from psychosis. He definitely knew what he was doing and chose to do it of his own volition.
So many thoughts about this, as the circumstances of this murder spree were tragic from every angle. One thing stands out: it has been proven and so is well known that those who desire to torture/kill animals eventually desire to kill bigger prey. There is never an excuse for ignoring this sign.
He seems legitimately "disturbed" vs intelligent enough to fake this interview. But if so, why do voices that want you to kill yourself, make you instead kill others? Im thinking a few things. One is that there is satan working on people to influence evil. (satan comes to "steal, kill and destroy") I think current culture craziness, perversions and corruption... And virtual reality violence as entertainment... influence a disturbed mind to copy or go further.
@@hon.mr.ronburgundyiiiesq.2096 The early red flag of animal killing/ torture should have been addressed. Ignoring it allowed him to exist under the radar until his mental issue progressed to the point that he planned and executed his murder spree.

I've admired many of them for this reason too. Regardless of the fact that it is their chosen profession, they're also human and have feelings. Imo, it takes super human powers to maintain your composure and be the monster's best friend and get your job done.
I could care less about this detectives patience! I can't stand the cops! really don't like other people who do! This is the United States bro it's an adversarial system not inquisitorial! The police are not your friends!
The scary part is that the public school social experiment has failed hundreds of thousands of kids like this that want to act out but just didn’t have the resources. “Bad” actors weren’t born bad, they were groomed by the system and when they didn’t fit the mold, they were medicated and shunned from society instead of being provided an achievable and meaningful path forward without embarrassment and role models to help them.
Anyone who did NOT watch the victim impact statements really should. Max Schachter, whose son was murdered, did an excellent deep research on the amount of therapy this killer was given over YEARS of his entire childhood. The killer was offered more help than anyone I ever heard of and yet it did not deter his love to kill and for attention. Aside: What if an exorcist was brought in; wonder what would happen?
Here's my take on this and I could be wrong: I grew up when video games were just pixels and you had to use your imagination to enjoy them. Video games are hyper realistic now and nearly everyone of a certain age grew up playing those realistic versions. First person shooter games have given players the thrill of killing therefore some are desensitized to killing and death. I remember an older friend (someone who didn't have video games growing up) came over years ago right after the Columbine tragedy and she was shocked at the realism of video games being played by my husband. Just think how much graphics have advanced since the late 1990's?
Zach is a good soul and shows such a broad perspective for a young man his age. Zach also has a real honest and pure heart. Zach was there to help Nicholas make sense of his bad decision and to support him in his dire situation no matter what the odds are Zach is a great example of unconditional love.. Bless Zack.
The detective is good. (Evil) said he doesn't remember how he got to the school. Detective: Did the voice tell you to take the Uber (Evil):Yes the voices told me.
Shelly he didn't have a psychotic episode. He is a dangerous psychopath. They plan this in detail and enjoy every moment. He wasn't sad in this questioning it's all part of the plan for him and he loves the attention. People who do this are all the same - I'm surprised you believe this psychopathy can be cured. There's no evidence to suggest anything would have stopped this kid. Their plan is designed so they either die a "hero for losers" on scene or get more attention if caught and charged. People like this desevee no empathy and it's important you Relise he is not sad.
@@jibbyjabs I think as a society, we need to do a better job finding these young psychopaths. I feel like a lot of this stems from not feeling love or connected to another in any fashion. I have ZERO sympathy for him. I sincerely wish he had been caught before this sadness happened.
Great ring tone for an officer! 😂 But this kid is just unbelievable, his plan went down the swanie when he tried to make out he had a mental health issue. I'm glad this investigator is stubborn and assertive with him, not taking his BS!! 💖
That ring tone and phone call was no accident. It was a chess move in psychological behaviour to not only see how it would make Nikolas react. But also open up the atmosphere in the room a little to not being as heavy. A little bit of humour. Very smart move and you can see it definitely helped Nikolas feel a little more comfortable to talk.
Every single thing the Detective does is calculated. Even when he gets up and leaves the room each time. They want to see his reactions when he thinks he is alone. How do you think he knew to come in and handcuff him toward the end.
Painful to watch. What he thought was a solution to his loneliness and isolation actually deepened the problem for him. He devastated the lives of many families and gave himself no chance of rehab in the outside world. When we put irrationality with a gun there's unbelievable chaos and suffering. The death penalty wouldn't have stopped him because he'd have thought he'd never get caught. Kids like this will keep turning up. This almost never happens in western Europe where gun control is much much tighter.
This is a chilling thought that just a few hours before this video was taken 17 people still had their lives & this guy had his whole future ahead of him. This guy deserves everything he gets but he's just put himself in a situation that he cannot ever undo. His life will forever be spent in the hands of institutions. Just in an instant his days of being free are gone. I can't imagine ever being in that situation. I'm sure he will feel this pain he's caused all of his victims in the hereafter.
Hopefully he gets the death penalty. After hearing how he walked up to kids and shot them repeatedly with the barrel of the gun against their bodies, he needs to be on death row. I had no idea the extent and h loved ever minute of it.
If you're gonna do something like this that will completely wreck your life, you would think the little 🐴🕳️ would at least go after the kids who bullied him, but no, he picks people who he doesn't even know. What satisfaction could the sicko have possibly gotten from it is beyond me

That's not a normal thing I've never had that thought come to mind
Why listen to the trolls?
he literally murdered 17 people and some of you are feeling bad for him, you should be thinking about the victims, he ruined so many lives, so many families, even the people who weren't injured, the trauma that the will have to deal with for the rest of their lives is horrific, HE is to blame, not his family, not the "voices" or the devil, HIM, he chose to pick up that gun and shoot 17 people. because he could. because he wanted to. stop feeling bad for him.

Does the voice know an attorney? This detective is savage!!!’ And amazing
Literally amazing
This is a top-tier interrogator. Everything he says is composed. For all of the questions, he either knows the answer, or is looking for a type of answer. He is steering this perp along a road but in total control. He is keeping just the right side of playing the overbearing Dad and an understanding uncle. This cop is a pro.
Yes he did some other famous cases like the murder of XXXTentacion
What a respectful , polite and calm officer. The way he talked to this monster was always respectful with all dignity .
That’s literally any interrogation unless it’s a cop killer or something like that.
They need information to make their case and yelling at them usually doesn’t help. Especially for sensitive losers like this chump.
It’s amazing how he goes from non-verbal to self harm to hearing voices ( trying to say he’s crazy and the voices made him do it ) confused, trying to get out of those cuffs 🤔🤔🤔🤔…what most fail to realize if you’re going to be crazy, you’ve got to play crazy the whole time 😂😂😂😂…
Seems to me anybody that kills 17 people is crazy in and of itself because sane people don't do such things
First of all my heart goes out to all the families that were so affected by this senseless act. Please don't be sorry for him he knew what he was doing when he picked up that gun in my opinion I feel he should get the death penalty. It won't bring those victims back but I feel that's justice
Well said.

Idc how much the kid was bullied or left out or teased or whatever. There is no excuse to pick up a gun and end the lives of others.
There is something really wrong this person. I have similar views on capital punishment but i wouldn't weep for this guy.
The way I see it, if we can kill innocent babies why the heck can’t we kill guilty people who are guilty without a doubt. No need to keep them here. Either use them in heath experiments, or get rid of them. Even if they find religion, move it along and maybe they will do better in the next life.

Yes, yes, Patty. In the trial , the prosecutor goes over the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. He walked up on people who were down and wounded, he then executed them. Victims were shot, some 9-12 times. Example, the Asian boy was down already and shot 12 times.

You are mentally ill as well, if you can't recognize that he is mentally ill

You are right. A fake.
EH….DASAWAHHBAHAHRAHEH

I was taking into care at 4 years old. Twin brother also. I fostered at 14, Brother said no, He started hanging with wrong guys aged 12, never listen to me, Fighting me ect, I wanted a life, left foster care 2 years later. Care system abandoned me at 18. Solo no family fighting to make it, mistakes along the way, But never hurt anybody. And eventually Im 47 worked all life. He deserves what's coming. Every body no's wrong from right. He chose.
Just saw video of his brother having to move state. Because police targeting him. My twin was in trouble with police all the time, And police would arrest me so that I could tell them were my brother was, Genuinely did not no, 15 years old I was, had to carry passport but that did not help. Spent 3 days in police cell at 15. Eventually I had to move town
Well done. It must have been so difficult without help.

Honestly, feel bad for the brother because he watch his brother took away 17 innocent lives and he is so lost at words of what he has done something so horrible.
Was going to mention this as well. Huge respect for his brother and the detective.
This detective is terrific! “The demon wants an attorney. Does he have anyone in mind?” Brilliant! The kid clearly acts up when he’s cornered, but I don’t buy the demon story at all either.
Right

@@pamelaremme38 all kinds of demons that interrogator was one of them , we really do but know what most of these officers do in their off time ….. all that matters is he gets the information out of the kid but he admitted he’s no psychologist, the crime is already on video so there’s no need to antagonize the demon for information , get a psychological professional so he can ask questions as well.

Can you imagine the patience that’s required for these detectives? Not to put hands on this punk, unbelievable patience and professional talent.
You deserve to be a victim
Punk? Really put hands on him. ??? Have you met anyone in your life that just may be the One not to talk about like that??
If he had killed one of their kids I certainly would.
You make good points. That still doesn’t excuse murdering 17 people

He had so much treatment that he never had a psychologist, so explain to me what help he received?
Bless Zack.

If only he could have spoken with his brother before this all happened. Know that someone loved him, someone was there for him.
Shelly , he killed 17 kids , but i kinda get what your saying , but in no way feel bad for him !
@@Lew699 nobody is saying anything about feeling bad for him, it's about what could have prevented it
This brother is the ONLY ONE offering compassion to Nikolas. You’ll notice NO PARENTS NO ADULT did this . His brother has a huge heart. God bless him.
This detective played the 'concerned father ' role perfectly.
"The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth" - African proverb
I wish he and his brother had this conversation well before the murders. I wonder if it would have changed anything at all.
100% I can see it would have stopped that day.
Great ring tone for an officer! 😂 But this kid is just unbelievable, his plan went down the swanie when he tried to make out he had a mental health issue. I'm glad this investigator is stubborn and assertive with him, not taking his BS!! 💖
Well he definitely has a mental health issue. I do as well but I know I must not go around shooting people… he knows this too is my guess
Exactly!
The little bit of comedic relief in the whole thing
Painful to watch. What he thought was a solution to his loneliness and isolation actually deepened the problem for him. He devastated the lives of many families and gave himself no chance of rehab in the outside world. When we put irrationality with a gun there's unbelievable chaos and suffering. The death penalty wouldn't have stopped him because he'd have thought he'd never get caught. Kids like this will keep turning up. This almost never happens in western Europe where gun control is much much tighter.
that's because america has more crazy people....its not the guns, its the crazy person with a gun. /s
