Michael Satz is a great Prosecutor he never looked back at any notes, or read off note cards. He spoke 100% facts and true to the heart about Cruz and his pre-planning, methodology, video's and execution style killings. When States Attorney Satz played the raw 45 min. footage from the High School video surveillance camera's of the mass killings to the jury. The Defense team began to watch but then looked away, because it was so graphic. The Defense will argue that it wasn't Cruz's fault but his Mother for smoking and drinking, upbringing, lifestyle, his mental behavior, the system letting him down. 😭 Sorry but he should be shot x139 just as much rounds that he fired in that school.

The way he's laying this out makes me feel like I'm in the moment...feels and sounds like a game of Call of Duty only sadly it's anything but a game. I really commend the survivors, their families and the families of the deceased for sitting through this. I'm just spectating and I'm struggling...can only to continue to pray for all involved.
This was going to be my exact comment. He has his hand on his head in the beginning and you can tell when the video starts he hones in on it. It's so sickening.
"I would not have shot 2 girls and a campus monitor if they didn't give me a dirty look" Was he expecting a smile and a hug while pointing a gun at them?
If there is any case in which a death penalty is warranted, it's this one. He killed 17 people and there is no doubt that he committed the crime. I am normally against the death penalty but this is a cut and dry case in which it is justified. He did this heinous crime, and whether or not he is mentally ill should have nothing to do with the punishment he receives for it. The only factor in the sentencing should be what the survivors and families want.
Who can say whether the outcome serves the crime, but what has been difficult to accept is how anyone on the jury could not define this as warranting the death penalty.
If the death penalty is not worth the appeal it would automatically trigger, that is how anyone on the jury would not define this as warranting the death penalty.
This prosecutor is amazing. Imagine the toll building this case has taken on him. You can tell he sees this on a personal level. Had all victims names memorized, times of death, ages, classrooms. All without referring to notes.
Wow. Closing statement by prosecutor just totally illustrated everything. Detail by detail. At the beginning of this trial I was very much for life in prison and not death penalty. However, after hearing everything; the premeditation, the complete desire to kill and thoughtful planning , the devil worship and complete hate and loathing of human life. With heavy heart, I support the death penalty.
He did a great job but the only thing I’ll say is at 4:34 your not a Canadian so you may not know this but for those for you who don’t it’s Montreal Quebec. Get it straight.
I called it below. Prosecutor did not connect with this jury on an emotional level, but the defense did. Cruz did one of the worst crimes in American history and gets life. Jury should be ashamed of themselves....
i think the testimony about his mother especially from her friend connected with some of them more than anything. it was just so disturbing and tragic. not saying what he did wasn’t also… but just imagining a fetus inside a woman doing what she did is so upsetting.
Amazing prosecutor! I commend him. I hope the jury has taken this all in and deliver the Justice these families need and deserve! Death penalty nothing less!
These parents, community, classmates, jury, will never be the same. My heart breaks 💔 for the families and friends...RIP 🙏 to all victims and the wounded.
The reminders of the details involved.. the vest, the guitar case, the rounds, the alterations on the gun, etc etc. Things we don’t normally think about, but when this prep is illuminated, so powerful!
Although all these facts are 100% right, no one has ever argued them including Cruz and his defense. At no point has anyone from the defense not said that his acts were premeditated. It's actually irrelevant to if they can find mitigating factors. Agravating factors have already been fully established. So he's actuall going over old facts no one has argued against.
This defense Attorney, has shown NO respect For any of the Family members that her Client Said He killed them!!!! Hopefully people will treat her like they have disrespected this family members about their loved ones.

I have been listening to the closing by prosecutor and I find it completely doing the job . He is detailed, consistent and he gives his summary like he is telling the complete story to listeners the jury .
The horror that these monsters inflict on victims and their families is horrible. Listening to the DA's step by step recital is horrifying. I feel so bad for everyone.

If he had participated in school with the meticulous thoroughness he devoted to planning his massacre, he might’ve been an honor student and, who knows, president one day. Instead, his actions make me wish our dear Old Sparky were still in use.
I'm happy that this cod blooded state attorney lost his enthusiasm for capital punishment after the court sentenced the monster to life in prison! Good bless the 3 jury members!

They laid out one of the most organized, detailed, visceral case and cross examinations I think I have ever seen!!! It could not have been done any better -- period!!!
It's crazy that they dressed him up like that to manipulate the jury too. Dude is a grown man. I know plenty of people his age. Him trying to come off as small, childlike and meek is so sickening.
The way he researched previous mass shootings is what potential future ones will do to this one, and the outcome of this case just showed them that they could cause so much pain and loss, and still live out the rest of their lives
Anyone remember the old movie called, " The Bad Seed"? There is evil in this world. Many people don't want help no matter how much is available and they will bring you down if your not careful.
I remember this. Good correlation. I want to hope there is a part of him that wanted to be different. Too little too late unfortunately. Sadness for all affected by this.
The mother in that movie knows intuitively what has happened and makes the gut wrenching decision to take matter into her own hands. Powerful movie and still rings true, if not truer in this age of "Monster of the Week!"
Depends on which situation you are in. I can guarantee you his mom didn’t want him she didn’t care about how he would be born. I mean come on. They need to figure this out before this happens again. We need to grow and learn on why these young men have these horrible thoughts and why their thinking the way they are. With these shooters that are still l alive I really hope they are trying to figure out a solution. Obviously guns will never be taken away, not in this lifetime America. Let’s come together once and for all.
As a Buddhist, I cannot condone the death penalty, although I certainly understand it. Having watched this trial from start to finish, I can say that objectively the state has the strongest argument and evidence in my opinion. The defense is having to fall back on appeals to emotion and a very sketchy "diagnosis" of fetal alcohol syndrome. I would be very surprised if the State loses this case, and if they do, I imagine it'll ultimately come down to one conscientious objector. After all, they only need one.
Yes, that only thing that can save Cruz is a juror who won't for the death penalty period. In that case, the verdict will be very very quick, probably only a couple of hours. The longer the verdict waits, the more more likely, Cruz is getting the Death Penalty.
I feel like in situations like this, the families and kids that were there should all be verified and allowed to each cast a vote of what they want...life/death and allow a judge to count them up and then whatever their outcome is the choice that should be handed down. IMO. They are the real ones that have to deal with this for the rest of their lives and I'm sure the sisters/brothers lives etc. I'm not sure I could do a death vote myself either, but I also agree where I can understand it, especially here. Plus the brown hair attorney for the state, flipping off cameras in the court room, while smirking with Nickolas when the judge ruled camera would be allowed in had and always will stick with me while watching the beginning of the proceedings here. So heartbreaking and So unavoidable
If you give me a baseball bat with this guy, you'll be begging me to give him a clean kill after 10 minutes, and you'll be surprised what new and innovating things can be done with a bat
Shooter boy sits there with that "non executive functioning" grin on his face. God have mercy on his soul, and God be with each of the jurors every step of the way. May justice be swift.
What’s the most strange thing here is that nobody ever in the trial mentioned how during the first questioning that was ever conducted that lasted hours he would claim DEMONS DEMONS MADE ME DO IT. A behavioral analyst narrated the video and made it clear that he was faking it! The injustice infuriates me. He’s a far. A liar. No excuses
For the family's I can't begin to imagine. What I notice about the defendant is that he appears rather bored during this. Zero remorse. No feelings thoughts. Shocking
I think the families of the victims Cleary support the prosecution. I think it should be focused on that. As well as the defendant he can't even behave in jail attacking correction officers. Let him sit in a tiny cell by himself with no TV for 20 years. Than introduce him to the table. It's clear he doesn't want the DP as hard as his team is fighting for him. He said he wanted DP but in actually he's hoping they'd do the opposite with life.
I think that there are a few of the parents that don’t 💯 put all blame on Nik. They know more than what was brought into court. The FBI dropped the ball big time. Had they investigated or forwarded the 13 1/2 minute hotline tip that was received on January 5, 2018, this whole incident would not have happened. FBI admitted their neglect and were sued by 40 parents and injured to the tune of $127.5 million. It is my belief that 2 or 3 jurors will vote life.
At plea bargain, nc said he would plead guilty if death penalty is out of the table and the prosecutor didn't accept that. Then his lawyer talked him out of 50/50%chance. Actually he wants to live.
They allow them access to tablets in prisons/jails. They can buy games and movies, and text people etc if they have the money. They cant get in social media, but still they have it better then the piir families and kids that have to live with this forever
Interestingly, as of April, Florida death row inmates are now allowed to spend 20 hrs./ week in a day room with other prisoners, watch television, have access to multimedia kiosks, more access to phone calls, increased shower access and six hours/wk of outdoor activity. The changes were made as a result of a lawsuit brought by eight inmates claiming inhumane treatment. Permanent solitary confinement for death row inmates in Florida has been eliminated.
I didn’t believe in the death penalty before this horrific case. Amazing closing...very powerful and emotional. I wonder if he’s afraid to die? I know all his victims were!
@@lorrainebest1731 I'm so confused by this comment. Why would that be shocking? And what do you mean by "above all others?" It literally cant't get any worse than this?
The prosecution has been stellar. The defense has not impressed me. I was thinking about how Cruz said he wants to be dead. It placed me against the death penalty. Why give him what he wants? However, as someone mentioned the other day, he is also a danger to all in the prison. Because of this fact, I would vote for the death penalty. The problem is there is no right answer that will take away the pain the families will endure for their lifetime and it will never bring their loved ones back.
A "danger" to all in the prison? Hes doing life now with all the other boys doing life. Hes going were the heavy hitters are. And while they are doing life, they dont care about adding more. Also: hes a child killer. those and chomos are dead meat in such prisons. Hes not getting old there. He got a dead sentence.
How dare he wish to go on living. What difference does it make anyway, he has nothing to live for. Keeping him alive is a greater punishment, but killing him gets rid of the liability. As long as he is alive, he is a potential trophy for the other inmates and a temptation which will bring out the dark side of the guards. We know he is guilty, it isnt 99.999999% sure its 100.00000000.
The prosecutor repeatedly muddled words throughout; the judge made the trial a laughing stock with complete disregard for the relatives sitting there watching this spectacle. you can tell that he is struggling due to the nature of this crime but the fact that he portrays the pain of this senseless act and he doesn't have to look at the names or how it all happens.....remarkable
It's sad to see all the parents and other relatives keeping face while Cruz is just so uninterested.
For real. He should feel what it’s like to be in the receiving end of those gun shots
Michael Satz you are Amazing 🤩 Prosecutor that never 👎 has to have any notes you are the best I never see you looking on paper or notes and I’m with the family all the way to the ending.Cruz no just what he was doing to them Babies and I hope he get just what he needs 🙏for the family
I can't disagree with your statement...just takes a gun held between his eyes for him to cry and beg...no more such a hero then. I'm so sorry but I have such anger at this evil monster 👹
Would become a certified alcoholic if i had to defend this monster in court. His reaction to the footage was chilling. ☹😢😓
He won’t last to long in Prison. Someone will kill him and do what a Florida Jury couldn’t do, and become a Heroic Prisoner.

Exactly. He deserves the death penalty.
This was going to be my exact comment. He has his hand on his head in the beginning and you can tell when the video starts he hones in on it. It's so sickening.
Very sick 🤢 an dugusting these poor families my heart breaks for them 😢
"I would not have shot 2 girls and a campus monitor if they didn't give me a dirty look"
Was he expecting a smile and a hug while pointing a gun at them?
These parents tax dollars would pay to keep him alive and well. How atrocious is that???
Wow. That was powerful. I think he was about to cry at the end.
100% agree...every word.
Don't forget the 17 that got terrible injuries
This prosecutor is incredible!
How can this prosecutor remember all of these details??? Wow im.impressed!
Honestly death penalty is more merciful than life in prison I’d rather get death penalty than to be in life in prison 24 hours forever
the whole defense team has shown that they are just as messed up as he is.
They're clearly disgusted but still have to do their job as court ordered to do.
This lawyer speaks very well
Who can say whether the outcome serves the crime, but what has been difficult to accept is how anyone on the jury could not define this as warranting the death penalty.
Absolutely brilliant prosecutor!
He just goes over the same points again.
How can you listen to this and think that guns are not a problem?
people want to blame individuals even while we live with the consequences everyday

Amazing prosecutor! I commend him. I hope the jury has taken this all in and deliver the Justice these families need and deserve! Death penalty nothing less!
When read out the names at the end, really got me 😥
To end his summation by saying the 17 names by memory was very powerful.
These parents, community, classmates, jury, will never be the same. My heart breaks 💔 for the families and friends...RIP 🙏 to all victims and the wounded.
The amount of ads on this video is truly ridiculous.
I agree.
It’s her job. She is a very competent defense attorney. It is her JOB to do everything she can for him. It would harm her case to bring attention to the horrific nature of his crimes. She has cried multiple times during witness testimony and impact statements. Please do not direct hate towards her for doing what she is being paid to do.
@@jake.l.m I only saw one defense attorney cry, that is the only one! I had someone take my sons life, and I can assure you even the person who was responsible, their attorneys never ever acted as she did! Belittling the jurors and throwing fits as she has. Please, the things she has done during this whole trial is so disrespectful. How many times during the judge talking or a victim on the stand, she just starts clicking her pen, gets up to make copies. That is not Ok to do!!! @@ashleykane4951 I understand your pain. My brother was also killed. I am just saying that, purely from a defense standpoint, she has laid a very solid argument throughout the whole trial. I completely understand where you are coming from, and I’m very sorry for your loss.
I'm not sure how she has been disrespectful. She's defending her client. This is an odd thing to say.
I feel sorry for every single person ( -cruz) in that courtroom. They will never be the same. Not one of them.

I do not understand why he don’t have hands and feet’s cuff ?????
Notice the judge paying attention. She has a very difficult time listening to the defenses closing argument. Cuz she favors the prosecution.
She made that clear to everyone, including the jury. That's why she was forced to resign.

It’s scary to see that the monster looks like a geek still in high school! So sorry for the victims and much love and support their families!
It's crazy that they dressed him up like that to manipulate the jury too. Dude is a grown man. I know plenty of people his age. Him trying to come off as small, childlike and meek is so sickening.

Okay 👍 I’m with you right 🙏
What really bothers me is Cruz shows no remorse whatsoever for doing what he did...no remorse at all. 😥
The Prosecutor is on point Michael Spatz you have my vote 100%
Unfortunately there's no other way of disposing of a monster beside killing it. Buddha surely have mercy!
Regardless of the sentencing ...he won't last long alive.. not on dp or in prison ... this will be the happiest day for thousands of us 💕
At 80 years old he explained this case by heart in so much detail. That's impressive.
I wish this case used ancient time punishments.
If you give me a baseball bat with this guy,
you'll be begging me to give him a clean kill after 10 minutes,
and you'll be surprised what new and innovating things can be done with a bat
Because you like to be just like him?
DEATH SENTENCE......THERE IS NO OTHER PROPER PUNISHMENT.
Chopping off his limbs, making him blind an deaf and put him on tube feeding for the rest of his life sounds kinda ok as well
Too easy.
If there are liberals on the jury, this murderer will get life. I wonder how they would feel if it was one of their kids that were slaughtered.
I have a feeling this waste of space is going to dodge the death penalty.
There is no other way.....he needs to be put down
Michael Satz for president!! What an incredible prosecutor
Wow. He energizes me as an older attorney
The heartlessness from the defense team is chilling. How these people have anything to do with law and justice is beyond understanding.
He’s a far. A liar. No excuses
…there exists pure evil in this world…
Well said sir!

He wants to die. That doesn’t mean his life should be spared though. We have to protect good people by putting down bad dogs like Cruz.

Yes!
@@lorrainebest1731 I'm so confused by this comment. Why would that be shocking? And what do you mean by "above all others?" It literally cant't get any worse than this?
How the families are holding it together while listening to this is commendable. Very brave people. I'm throwing up listening to this.
He is the poster boy for the death penalty. He is why there is a death penalty. He told 34 times he did the crime.
