What a great tip at 6:20 - I have that same straight-edge, but I've never even thought to use it to check water pump mating surfaces (I bought it for checking heads and blocks). I will now get into the habit of using it more often - especially before-hand on a hard-to-reach water pump like the 2GR-FE. Thanks for another great video! : )

i've never seen a b etter advertisement to prove the saying "ALWAYS USE FACTORY OEM REPLACEMENT PARTS"! The water pump on my 2001 Solara V6 still going over 200,000 miles...

totally true, some times it is not up to you to get OEM parts, from autoparts stores it is much better but from online it is more risky. thanks for visiting this channel.
