Love, love, love these! I used to make mixes (basic cookie mix, etc.) 49 years ago when I was selling Tupperware. I’m so glad to get this refresher with so many new recipes to try! Thank you and God bless.
My Tupperware lady showed us how to make our own baby wipes with baby shampoo and paper towels. That saved me a lot, got me to buy a particular container too, but it can be reused when baby grows up for other things.
This is one of the best videos I have seen on the internet I can use ALL of these recipes and ideas! Thank you, I will be watching this video and your other videos often.
When you were talking about biscuits, I thought back to watching my mother do them. She would make a well in the flour bin with the back of her hand, take a handful (she never measured anything!) of lard and throw it in, a little baking powder and salt (why she threw a little salt over her shoulder, I never understood), and water (we couldn't afford milk or buttermilk unless it was the powdered junk that came in commodities). She would squeeze that mix with her fingers until it turned into a ball, then pinch off a little and roll it in her hands, throw it on the pan and pat the back of three fingers into the top to mash it down a little. I've tried to do it her way after I grew up but could never quite match it. I guess cooking for 8 kids on a VERY limited budget made her a pro. LOL
@@cygna1237 I thought it must have something to do with luck, but it never occurred to me that it was chef's luck. Duh. I should have thought of that!! LOL
My favorite cookbook is the older versions of Joy Of Cooking. I used to just sit and read it like a kitchen bible😊. Great source of knowledge. Thanks for sharing your instant mixes with us. After my children moved out I quit cooking and preparing anything since it was just me…after 7 years, I’m finally preparing foods again and cooking, though, it’s almost impossible to cook for one🙄🤣🤷♀️…
@wardrobelion8300. One thing I have found helpful is to work out some basic recipes to have on hand for sauces, like a basic brown sauce, a basic Chinese sauce, and then I can just throw frozen vegetables in for stirfry. I can even make a fairly quick soup if I’m in the mood, but don’t want to put out a lot of effort.
Do not buy the new version of The Joy of Cooking book. It is not the same and they took out so many details. We don't use the quantity of sugar and flour that she does as a rule, but I enjoyed the video. The seasonings and prep is so handy.
I’m working on the cooking for one problem too. My solution for pancakes and waffles is to make. A batch and put the extra in the freezer. I watch my granddaughter every Friday while my son works. I take them with me for an easy breakfast for the kiddo. I’m thinking of maybe making double batches to take over and put in his freezer to help him out over the weekend so he doesn’t have to cook so much and can spend more time with his kid. I also do all the dishes that build up over the week for him, he hates washing dishes lol, there aren’t usually that many because it’s just him during the week. I do my laundry and some of his while I’m there too just to help out.

I love pantry stock mixes! Although the biscuit mix is a good tip, It doesn’t take more than a few minutes to make biscuits, anyway. I mix, fold and pat mine out, cut, then (I choose to) let the dough rest 30 minutes for the dough to relax before baking. Very tender, flaky biscuits. You showing how each one is made makes it feel that much more do-able. This is not only more economic but so much more healthier. Thank you for this! Liking & subscribing😊
i loved your video. I started making my own bread about 6 months ago. We went on a 10 day vacation that became a 3 week trip. When we returned home I realized I forgot to freeze the bread before traveling. To my surprise, in the hot summer months this bread did not mole. After that and reading the label I started making my own bread.

I found your channel for the 1st time today, I subscribed. Thank you for all your recipes, I appreciate them. I like to shop at our local Amish store, I find their prices to be much cheaper then the regular grocery store, and they have a lot of bulk items that I use to make bread and other baked goods, I will be using your jarred mixes for my pantry, so I can now eliminate grocery store boxed mixes when I don't want to hassle with getting everything out, thank you so much!!!!
Thank you! I didn't have anyone to teach me any tips or tricks growing up and your videos are helping a lot! Ill be looking for videos from now on. Thanks!
You just showed a box of Jiffy biscuit mix and I have never in my life seen this before...of course I've never looked for it..but I thought they just did cornbread. I don't use a lot of mixes for things but this is interesting, going to save it.
I just bought the vacuum sealer this week. I make hot chocolate mix that I wanted to preserve & also wanted to research more ways to preserve other things as well I'm new to your channel. I did subscribe and look forward to learning more.
Just discovered your channel. I like the idea of freezing ahead. I have tried this with boxed waffle mixes, but found they were dry literally and to the taste. I am going to try yours. I also like the time saving of having mixes prepped, instead of pulling all the ingredients out every time. Thank you
Yes it is defiantly a time saver for sure! For maybe helping with the dry waffles add the buttermilk instead of the milk. and add a few drops of water to your cooked waffles before reheating them helps too.
Wow, your video is great! I have been trying to decrease bad ingredients from processed food, but after watching this I haven’t done enough. I hate to cook but you have made this really easy so I have no excuse not to do this. Plus I really need the taco recipe since we love tacos. Glad I found you. 😊
Thank you! We are still working on cutting a lot of processed ingredients out as well. I’m trying to come up with a healthier version of some of my husbands favorite snack foods right now, like Little Debbie cupcakes, he loves those things! Lol I’m working on a recipe for him.
@@richmondsplace You mean a batch of 1 1/3 cup dry mix of your pancake mixture, right? Not the entire batch starting with 6 cups of flour? Sorry, new to your channel and just learning!
I make my own seasoning mix I use for chicken and pork (it would probably work for any meat, I mostly only eat chicken and pork, though). I don't have exact measurements, more ratios. I reuse 1 of those giant spice containers, and use a ⅛ c measuring cup and a ½ tsp measuring spoon, and just repeat until the container is full (or I run out of something...). You can use any sized spoon/cup, it doesn't matter if it's 1 T or ¼ cup, or if they're leveled off or heaping, as long as you're consistent. If you're mixing up a small amount (like 1 tsp each), just do a pinch or so of the paprika and herbs. 2 scoops garlic powder 1 scoop salt 1 scoop pepper 1 scoop onion powder ½ tsp smoked paprika ½ tsp oregano ½ tsp thyme You can also add rosemary or whatever other herbs you like, or leave the herbs out completely and add them as you want separately. If you like spicy food, you can add red pepper flakes or cayenne. I use red pepper flakes a lot, but I keep it separate so I can decide how much to add depending on what I'm making and if I'm in the mood for spicier food. I use about 2 T per ½ cup of flour for fried chicken or pork chop breading. I used to keep some premixed in a canister, but I don't fry as much anymore, so it isn't worth the effort anymore.
I just found your awesome channel. You are so right with the amount of preservatives, sodium etc.. found in packaged items in the grocery store. Thank you so much for this video.
What a great video! I’m so glad that I came across it while scrolling on UA-cam! To be so young, you are a wealth of knowledge. Thank you so much for all the recipes and tips!
Make homemade Greek yogurt, so so good! Use the whey in recipes replacing water or milk. Add 2 teaspoons lemon juice and you have a product that tastes like sour cream and no extra containers in the fridge.
New subscriber. Thanks for the recipes. I used to make ahead stuff when my kids were little, and I was poorer. I will definitely try some of your recipes. Plus, have you seen how many food recalls there have been on already prepared foods?! Scary.
These are very good I have to admit. But I really wish there would be more content creators who would write for people who live in apartments or townhomes that don't have 10,000 storage areas
New pantry for the apartment: there are some type of foot extensions for the bed. Long lidded plastic boxes for underbed. Set your mixes there. Keep only one of each kind in the kitchen. Infrequent ones stay under there. You can solve this problem. You can put rolling shelves or drawers into closets maybe. We are too close to food being more important than clothing. Any morsel you can provide for your family will be worth gold.
I have just found you……and I have been looking at the pressure gadget you use and I’m now sold on this miraculous invention. I do jalapeño jelly and seal the jars in boiling water. My question is can I seal my jars when they are hot or would that technique dammage my jars or jelly. Thank you, Francine from Quebec, Canada
Vacuum sealing a mason jar is NOT a substitute for heat or pressure canning. It is just a way to remove oxygen from the jar. If you want to do perishable items such as fruits or vegetables you can use it still but, it needs to be kept in the refrigerator.
I can 100% confirm some of the BEST recipes I've EVER had were from church cook books

@@pinkcrayon1382 You’re welcome! I’m so glad you enjoyed them. They are my favorite biscuits!
Wow I’m so glad I found your channel. These recipes are great! Love that they are in jar! New subscriber!
Thanks so much! 😊
I love, love, loved this. So much awesomely useful information packed in to one video. I always mean to look up from scratch mixes & rarely do. You showing how each one is made makes it feel that much more do-able. This is not only more economic but so much more healthier. Thank you for this! Liking & subscribing😊
You are so very welcome!😊
I subscribed after the peanut butter, stayed for the rest of the fantastic tips. Tfs ❤
Awesome! Thank you!
Everything sounds and looks great. Thank you for sharing. Many blessings to you and the family.
Thank you! You too!
i loved your video. I started making my own bread about 6 months ago. We went on a 10 day vacation that became a 3 week trip. When we returned home I realized I forgot to freeze the bread before traveling. To my surprise, in the hot summer months this bread did not mole. After that and reading the label I started making my own bread.
That is awesome!
Fantastic recipes, thank you for sharing. Hi from Melbourne Australia.

Awesome! Thank you!
I wish there was an Amish store close to us.
Thank you! I didn't have anyone to teach me any tips or tricks growing up and your videos are helping a lot! Ill be looking for videos from now on. Thanks!
You are very welcome! Glad to help!😊

Thank you for taking your time to add the recipes in description
Your very welcome!😊
You just showed a box of Jiffy biscuit mix and I have never in my life seen this before...of course I've never looked for it..but I thought they just did cornbread. I don't use a lot of mixes for things but this is interesting, going to save it.
New to building a stocked pantry. I love the video.
Thank you so much!
I just bought the vacuum sealer this week. I make hot chocolate mix that I wanted to preserve & also wanted to research more ways to preserve other things as well I'm new to your channel. I did subscribe and look forward to learning more.
Welcome! 😊
Im just found your channel. Love it thanks for all the mixes.
You're Welcome!
The coffee cream blew me away. I buy a lot of flavored coffee creamers. I am definitely going to try this. I have half-and-half in the freezer now.
Wonderful!
I thought you couldn't really freeze milk?
Wow, your video is great! I have been trying to decrease bad ingredients from processed food, but after watching this I haven’t done enough. I hate to cook but you have made this really easy so I have no excuse not to do this. Plus I really need the taco recipe since we love tacos. Glad I found you. 😊
Thank you! We are still working on cutting a lot of processed ingredients out as well. I’m trying to come up with a healthier version of some of my husbands favorite snack foods right now, like Little Debbie cupcakes, he loves those things! Lol I’m working on a recipe for him.
Thank you so much!! ❤😂

I have a sourdough starter and I use the discard for pancakes and .muffins. I havent found a good cookbook but lots of good recipes.
I love experimenting with my sourdough starter in baked goods, makes cookies super delicious!
This was very informative! Thank you for your time and sharing your knowledge
You’re very welcome! 😊
Thank you! Definitely trying those sausage egg muffins if I can figure out how much pancake mix to use!
You are so welcome! I used one batch of this mix per batch of muffins.
@@richmondsplace You mean a batch of 1 1/3 cup dry mix of your pancake mixture, right? Not the entire batch starting with 6 cups of flour? Sorry, new to your channel and just learning!
@@AccioPadfoot12 Yes 1 1/3 cup pancake mix then the wet ingredients.
Five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank You!
Appreciate all of these.
Love your creative wing it recipes.

You are amazing, thank you. I will try harder instead of just giving up when it gets hard

2 scoops garlic powder
1 scoop salt
1 scoop pepper
1 scoop onion powder
½ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp oregano
½ tsp thyme
You can also add rosemary or whatever other herbs you like, or leave the herbs out completely and add them as you want separately.
Re watching on Prep Saturday 🎉
Thank you!😊
I just found your awesome channel. You are so right with the amount of preservatives, sodium etc.. found in packaged items in the grocery store. Thank you so much for this video.
You are so very welcome! 😊
What a great video! I’m so glad that I came across it while scrolling on UA-cam! To be so young, you are a wealth of knowledge. Thank you so much for all the recipes and tips!
You are very welcome!😊
If you want buttermilk- add lemon juice to regular milk or yogurt as a replacement
Make homemade Greek yogurt, so so good! Use the whey in recipes replacing water or milk.
Add 2 teaspoons lemon juice and you have a product that tastes like sour cream and no extra containers in the fridge.
If you don't have lemon juice you can use 1 T vinegar to 1 cup of milk.
I use vinegar and it turns out great.
This is the first time visiting your channel. The make ahead mixes drew me in. I'm interested in this topic. Thank you.

New subscriber. Thanks for the recipes. I used to make ahead stuff when my kids were little, and I was poorer. I will definitely try some of your recipes. Plus, have you seen how many food recalls there have been on already prepared foods?! Scary.
And the crap they're putting in our food, including outrageous amounts of sodium!
Welcome! Yes I did see that as well! Very scary for sure!
Thank you super ideas and very helpful you are very creative
Thank you so much 😊
These are very good I have to admit.
Thank you, thank you and thank you! :)
You’re welcome 😊
Great ideas! I’m gonna make them all!

@@lorisilva10784 Hello there!Thank you so much! 😊
I have just found you……and I have been looking at the pressure gadget you use and I’m now sold on this miraculous invention.
I do jalapeño jelly and seal the jars in boiling water. My question is can I seal my jars when they are hot or would that technique dammage my jars or jelly. Thank you,
Francine from Quebec, Canada
Vacuum sealing a mason jar is NOT a substitute for heat or pressure canning. It is just a way to remove oxygen from the jar. If you want to do perishable items such as fruits or vegetables you can use it still but, it needs to be kept in the refrigerator.
