Thank you it was very informative I am having my husband assessed tomorrow and l got some good questions l have written down . Thank you again Christine
I am unable to read down loaded documents.ollone of my many ailment is vitaform dystrophy. I misunderstood, l thought the village news was a booklet delivered to the home. I am sorry if l wasted your 26:52 time. I do listen to your videos. Thank you.
Very clear and concise. Why the relevant government departments can't be this clear when providing information beats me. Also some people in these departments only seem to know their own "piece" of the system and can sometimes give incorrect information or direction. This is exactly why we need a very experienced non aligned agency like Village Local to steer people through the mire that is My Aged Care. Elderly People become exhausted, confused, exasperated, dehumanised and depressed when dealing with My Aged Care. We all need to spread the word about Village Local and how they can help and prepare a person before they ring My Aged Care
Hi Margaret, I'm truly humbled by your words. Thank you for joining the cause to help older people across Australia access the support they need to continue living with independence, dignity and grace 🙏 Stay well, Jim | Founder of VillageLocal
27:1527:17 Thank you this is so good Jimmy ,I’m still waiting to be assessed more than 6month.My husband is on Commonwealth entry but the only thing he get is Taxi card. English is my second language sorry for the spelling. Regards Ester Peregi
Hi Ester, I’m concerned that you are not on My Aged Care’s waiting list to be assessed. An assessment by My Aged Care typically happens 4-6 weeks after the request has been made. If you’ve been waiting 6 months for an assessment, it’s fair to say that your request has falling through the cracks. I would HIGHLY suggest that you call My Aged Care (government department) to re-request an assessment. If you urgently need this help, tell my aged care that it is urgent and they prioritise it for you which means the assessment will take place within 10 days! The phone number for My Aged Care is 1800 200 422 If you need help with navigating the aged care process, including requesting support and and preparing for an assessment, we offer the CarePath Navigator Service. You can learn more about this service at www.carepath.com.au/bookings
@esterperegi1863 so sorry, Ester this did not have been happening. I hope you and your husband get the help you deserve. Have you thought to sign and become a member of Village Local. Great help and support, you are not alone

Thank you so much Jim My siblings are waiting on confirmation of our EPOA status from our 93 year old mother's lawyers, as she was just diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia and living at home alone. She will need a lot of support and services.
Thank you so much for thsi video mate❤❤❤..just one thing if you coukd make a video about recent changes on home care and what is allowed and what is not it would have helped a lot of people especially seniors ❤❤
On a level IV home care package doesn’t allow showering clean up of bathroom plus 3 physio X 40 min sessions per week. This is the care $ allowance. So get rid of personal care and keep on with physio. Client cared for 24/7 by family member who is also elderly with medical conditions. Do get lawn mowing 2/3 weekly and taxi $50 weekly budget. This system only encourages self harm and medical harm.
Have had 10 support workers plus providers. Stopped the support workers as they are incompetent and fraudulent. Being paid to care at same time going to uni or at another clients claiming both.
Hi Jim, just watched your Video on How to Access ACAT most effectively... Highly recommend to anyone who needs assistance with first steps. Carol at Next Stages Life Planning.
