Hi there thank you for the video, I just want my radio turned off completely I didn’t need radio or cd at all. If I took the fuse off with out replacing it back like on your video, will it shut off radio and cd system for me? I have Honda accord lx 2005. I just don’t want it drain my battery thanks
@@RBTheMechanic hi I did pull the fuse out and I did not replace any fuse back in. The result is the radio is completely turn off. But the light of “Maint ReQ’ d” is on instead which before I took the fuse off it was not on. I want to know if this is normal that the light show? Thanks
mine says there isn't a cd in there and I know there is, I just want the cd out. it worked when I first got it and then the cds would get stuck, would what's explained in the video help?
Ok, so if we remove the fuse the radio obviously stops working. Did you find a solution to actually fix the problem? Mine has the same symptoms that you described.
@@RBTheMechanic oh okay. Thank you. By any chance, did you open the radio and see if there maybe was a bad resistor or if there is bad relay inside the unit?

RB The Mechanic hey RB, my fuse is fine, however I can’t get any display what so ever. All the lights come on, when I connect the battery to the car I can hear the CD changer spin, AC all works, just no display, what gives?
It’s a problem with all of them. I went on Amazon and ordered a standard radio holder that replaces the storage compartment under the radio and bought a cheap standard rectangle radio from bestbuy for $60. Then I wired everything together using a soldering iron and it worked great
Hey man I just got my radio working and I woke up this morning and car was dead and I noticed the cd was spinning when I checked it. Is there a way I can have the radio on and stop cd from spinning? I want a radio lol
Brady Lee I had the same issue on my accord... try removing the connector in the back in not sure if it will turn the radio off with cd or try figuring out power wire to CD player and splice that
RB The Mechanic Since my car is wired for subs it only spins and dies when I’ve got an aftermarket wiring harness because I took it out and it did fine, but to get my subs working I ended up just hooking up the wiring harness cross over to the back speakers.
Holy crap, that was a simple fix to what I thought was a much more complicated problem. Thank you very much!
Oh cool
I needed this year's ago glad to find it was debating taking the whole radio out & replacing it.
Reading past comments I might just do both.
Yeah this honda generation of radios is bad replace it
The radio code is in the glove compartment on the left side and you don’t need to go to dealer
Yeah some got sticker there or up in glasses compartment most missing cuz the guy did lame job
Going to try this in the morning hopefully i don't have to replace the stereo
