I think Zeta was such a joy to watch because it encapsulated and captured the dreams, aspirations, happiness, sorrows, despair and hope that each character had, especially Kamille since we all watched him grow up, only for him to suffer a crippling blow and become a literal vegetable. Then this song plays and damn does it hurt to watch...
They even used this theme in Gundam ZZ when Judai and his crew find Kamille after he recovered from his vegetated state. The theme contains a similar form of triumph, yet maintains that somber tone over Kamille's tragic fate similar to the aftermath of the final battle against Scirocco. Kamille likely will never recover from the trauma, loss and brain damage, but the important thing is that at the end of Gundam ZZ, he was happy just to be reunited with Fa again.
This was, without a doubt, the most sad, fulfilling, and beautiful ending to any anime series that I have seen so far. As this song played in the last episode, I had to fight back tears, which I shed a week later when I re-watched the ending. Thanks for uploading.
Indeed it is one of the saddest ending in Gundam, but at least Kamille recovered by the end of ZZ. The ending for 0080 is sad too, but still not as sad as ZG. VG is also a sad ending for all the loss of Uso and Shakti throughout the war and a blind Katejina. IBO is a bad ending but not necessarily a sad one because of a comparative lack of character and a proper reason to fight in Mikatsuki than that of Uso and Kamille.
Somehow, Zeta's ending was my favourite ending of all Gundam series since it is pretty realistic (in my book) and makes the audience reflects of all the shit that goes on in war. All wars are sad and pointless, thus the AEUG have a pointless victory, This song also implies the soldiers' thoughts as "It's finally over, we did it. I just wanna go home." Thus at the end of Zeta, Fa flies by the Mark II and says "You wanna go home too, huh." The Argama also just bleakly fly to the nearest colony.
I don't want to sound like a prick but how come Zeta's ending is realistic when Kamille defeats the main villain by summoning the power of ghosts and creating force fields with his mind
i'm not sure i'd class the AEUG's victory as "pointless". horrible, yes, but the AEUG are the good guys however you slice it. they took over a big laser and stopped it from being used to blow up innocent randos. the tragedy of Zeta is in large part about how despite the AEUG trying to fight for a better world, the movement peters out and dies because it gets hammered by the Titans and Neo Zeon, all while the Federation deliberately hangs them out to dry. it's not just that war is pointless, it's that insitutional greed and cowardice makes pointless the sacrifices people make to try and better the world. imo this is why Char's reaction to the end of Zeta is to start hucking rocks at Earth. the war was pointless, but it didn't have to be. the Federation chose to make it that way
one of the best songs that made an entire generation cry, it moved my heart and my soul that if I have to die this is the song I want at my funeral with honor until the end 😢
This song also plays in ZZ Gundam when Judau is giving the whole speech about bloodlines and stuff to Glemy Toto and It seems everybody that has some newtype connection can hear him speaking. It makes that scene just as epic as well.
I'm back here again after 8 years! Today I finished to watch again the whole serie. The last episode is always my favourite one and the best ending of a Gundam serie at all 🧡See you again here in the next 4 years! 😉
iqmortz713 it’s so bittersweet. I hate what he was reduced to but he went through so much in Z i don’t know if he couldn’t handled being back in the fold as a pilot again.
I like how he was portrayed in that episode. He's guiding them all telepathically to find Puru/Ple so flawlessly, you'd be forgiven for thinking Kamille's mostly okay now. And then when the cast finds him on the rocks on the shore, without a care that he's being splashed by the water, he turns to them, this wistful but lost look on his face, without a hint that he could talk as well as he just did telepathically. It shows that while his powers have grown and he CAN communicate with them, the same still can't be said about his actual ability to communicate beyond that, let alone function properly. And it's all set to this BGM to remind the audience of how he became like this in the first place, and the depressing idea that Kamille may be recovering, but he may never truly be back to the way he was. In hindsight, Gyunei Guss was so obviously supposed to be a fallen Kamille, but scenes like this show that the real deal deserves to be spared from the rest of the conflict.
reyonXIII I wish we could’ve gotten to see him in action. If not in ZZ at least in CCA. It would’ve been interesting to see which side he would’ve chose. His respect and admiration for Char leads you to believe he would’ve been with him but his relationship with Bright and Respect for Amuro May have seen him side with them or switch sides and join them later.
To me, this is kind of reflecting on all those who died in the final battle. Katz, Emma, the entire crew of the Radish, countless others- once the dust settles, you realize just how much you've lost.
It's funny, but that big star keeps blinking on and off. Ha, It's huge! Is it a comet? Nah, cause comets move like zooooooom. Whew it's really hot in here. *fiddles with controls to open cockpit hatch* hey, there's no door in this thing. *continues to fiddle* open up... I can't get out of here... hey!?
kamille: "whew, its really hot in here...there's no door in this thing.. *bang bang* open up. hey!!" Fa: gasp.. "captain bright..kamille is... Argama.. do you read me?"
After a bloody battle, the body count is high. We must never forget those who didn't make it, Apolly Bay, Roberto, Blex, Emma Sheen, Katz, Four Murasame.
It wasn't enough for Kamille to lose nearly all of his comrades, he even lost his mind. What makes it all the more tragic is that this is something that milions of war vetetans who fought in WW1, WW2 and in all the wars preceding or after them actually had to experience. Truly, it doesn't matter how, where and with what weapons it is fought, War is hell. It brings nothing but tragedy, senseless slaughtering and sorrow. And yet, even in such times, love, camaderie and happiness can blossom. And i think that means a lot.
You never really find out if he recovers fully. He communicates with several people telepathically, and at the end he plays on the beach with Fa, but he still seemed like he wasn't all back together to me.
Thank you for uploading this beauty, I had heard it on Zeta the first time but it only came to my mind after hearing it again on Gundam ZZ when Judau and the others find Kamille at the shoreline :)
This song also implies the soldiers' thoughts as "It's finally over, we did it. I just wanna go home." Thus at the end of Zeta, Fa flies by the Mark II and says "You wanna go home too, huh." The Argama also just bleakly fly to the nearest colony.
@loneotaku Zeta Gundam's ending was a shocker even for me. You would expect the hero to die valiently or surrive to live another day and live happily ever after. Instead the battle wages on and Kamille becomes comatose what a way to end the Grypts war.
+Eviltower101 there are a few times this plays during ZZ: when Fa leaves as you said, when The crew finds Kamille on the beach in Dublin, and at the end when Judau tells Glemy why he fights. Every last scene was so epic.
I think it's the scene in Dublin that's the best use of this in ZZ, because you're given hope that Kamille may be recovering, given how he's articulately coordinating the Gundam team to survive and find Ple, then when they find him on the shore....he hasn't really gotten any better. His powers have ironically grown since Scirocco mentally blasted him, but that's the only way he's at all communicating normally. You're just cruelly reminded of what Kamille's reward for ending the madness of Scirocco was...
If you mean Unicorn then yes UC is better than Zeta because it actually has a plot. I love Zeta, but even I'll admit that it's mostly battle of the week except for a handful of episodes. You could skip 80 percent of the show and cut it down, in fact that's exactly what they did with the movie version and you don't miss much.
gzmanuk while it is nice that stuff like the first Asshimar and Gaplant fights, which were mostly there to promote them toys, got condensed in ANT, the fact that some of the show’s most important and best arcs, like the Kilimanjaro stuff and the Day of Dakar got glossed over, it not completely wiped from existence, makes it not as good as the original experience. I will say that the new animation is absolutely gorgeous, though.
Good Guy Papi? Kamille got to restart his life without all the burdens of all the killing he dreadfully was carrying with him. Reccoa, Four, Rosamia, Katz, Henken, Emma, both parents... He was still a child. Still hard to swallow, see him uttering nonsense like that at the end. I know he recovers in ZZ, but I'm glad at least he was able to be free of much of what happened.
lowkey underrated part was at the very last second, hyakku shiki flies by and you know char's still alive (like in context of course no one knew there'd be a CCA)
@MrBanks32 The song is taken from the "Zeta Gundam Special OST" soundtrack album, which you can search for on Google or sites like FilesTube or Torrentz. You should be able to download the soundtrack on peer-to-peer services like BitTorrent or hosting servers like Hotfile, Fileserve, Rapidshare, etc.
English Dub of Kamille and Fa post-fight against Scirocco/Ending of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: Kamille: It’s funny... but that big star keeps blinking on and off...(laughs)... it’s huge! Is it a comet? *Plays the song* Kamille: No, it can’t be... because comets move like “Zoom!”. *Fa looks terrified* Kamille: It’s really hot in here, whew! Hey, there’s no door in this thing! Open up! I can’t get out of here! Hey! *Camera goes back to a REALLY worried Fa* Fa: Captain? Captain Bright, it’s Kamille, he’s...... Argama, do you read me? (Looks at Emma’s Mk II) I see... you want to go back to the Argama, too... End scene. After seeing how the series ended that way, even I couldn’t recover from how much emotion I was feeling. Dynasty Warriors Gundam nailed it pretty well too with the narrator saying: “UC 0088. The struggle later known as the ‘Gryps Conflict’ came to an end. But… the scars remained.”😢 Kamille didn’t deserve that mental attack.😵💫
But he never fully recovers his only memories that return are his time in the Mark 2 and Zeta everything else is gone and he's so disgusted by war at that point he becomes a Doctor to do the opposite of killing as he hates violence that much after what happened to him.
Jamitov, on the other hand, even though he had power ambitions and never had issues about using earthnoids like Four to accomplish them, i still believe he was acting out of fear... Some earthnoids, specially the high ranked ones, knew the potential that the spacenoids had to prosper on their own, leaving the earthnoids to their fate. Or so the Federation believes. We can still see this fear in Gundam Unicorn, actually.
And people say 08th MS Team was the more realistic series. Yeah the show where the two leads go off and live happily ever after in a cabin in the woods
it's nuts because it's maybe the most wildly inconsistent piece of Gundam media out there. some absolutely insane highs and also some of the most inane bullshit in the series
@@junker-f3m Wow, time traveling to 13 years ago! Anyway, yeah. It's weird that the same show that has Moon Moon also has that kick ass Earth arc. I understand it's mostly due to Tomino's fluctuating mental health at the time? In any event, I still feel that ZZ is worth sticking with in spite of its numerous flaws.
I can honestly say that after the original universal century MSG-CCA, Wing, and X that I have yet to watch I don't care for any other Gundam series' .. Maybe I'm biased but I don't care. Nothing comes close to Zeta it terms of sheer epicness
Jetfire48 second half of ZZ was nothing near Zeta but I love ZZ the more I watch it .. that second half was special I wish Kamille had a bigger role than he did. Although he kinda played the biggest role helping Judau realize his Newtype potential
I'm still watching ZZ. I've only got a few more episodes left to the end. I'm surprised how much better it's gotten in the second half. It doesn't reach Zeta levels, but the second half of ZZ is good in its own right, so far.
Razor Edge second half of ZZ was amazing to me. Watching Judau become the hero that the world needed was great. Kamille stealing the show in episode 34 and 35
It was great to see Kamille again in episodes 34-35. Those were some of the best episodes in ZZ so far. So far, I've watched MSG, Zeta, most of ZZ (still a few eps left to the end), all of Wing, some of X, most of Turn A, and all of Seed, Destiny, and 00. Out of all of those, Gundam 00 comes closest to Zeta levels of greatness.
+Gonzalouch Ikari von Faustus Yoshiyuki Tomino was the original "Kill 'Em All" guy. He's created other anime, including other Gundam shows, that were even more ruthless than Zeta Gundam... But after getting over his depression, Tomino eventually ended his "Kill 'Em All" streak with the more optimistic Turn A Gundam.
This series ended on one hell of a cliffhanger as far as the U.S. dub was concerned. this came about the months before SEED came to the U.S. so I could see sort of how Bandai of America prioritized promoting that series over releasing a dub for Double Zeta, which kind of sucked considering SEED was pretty "meh". Then again ZZ isn't really looked highly upon. One of the negatives I had with the Zeta Gundam English Dub was how they used an different voice cast, especially since Chars Counterattack was released years before this series hit U.S. shores and used the same dub cast from the original series.
Tomino: "I just had a great idea! Lets make a gritty and unexpected finale and brainfry the main character. That will totally stop them from comercializing and ruining my dear Gundam hurr hurr " Yeah, that worked totally fine, right?
Supposedly some interview several years ago (late 80s or early 90s) . It's widely assumed among the gundam fanbase that the reason for the high death count in Zeta was a combination of Tomino's depression and the desire to not get tied down by the gundam franchise.
Marco Giolo More like he was against comercialization of his work, so he did many things to try to prevent his works from being milked for the sake of merchandise (which is why he did that slaughterfest in Ideon, for example).
@@younggod5230 Yeah thanks. I was thinking he got ptsd and thats why he was acting like a child at the end...... but on 2nd watching i think it was the psychic attack. thats why i was curious i was trying to remember the awesome ending correctly lol
@zetashiki1 Heh yes this is what I meant by not evil - they are just following what they think is correct, as twisted as some of those beliefs may be! Unfortunately some of the characters don't have enough background storyline to explain their actions, but of course they aren't saints!
@ancrumq12 Yeah Char isn't really evil. Lalah has the best insight on the workings of his mind and she said that he was pure hearted. When he was younger his father indoctrinated the ideal that humans (mainly earthlings) were lost and were slowly destroying the earth with pollution, war and over population. Char's motivations change threw the MSG and Zeta, but in Zeta he actually had faith in mankind. In the end, and i suppose do to the actions of ppl in Zeta and abandons that faith
@ancrumbq12 he never was evil! in fact I don't believe anyone in the old Gundam series is evil, (can't vouch for the newer ones as I haven't seen them) the characters just have ideas and beliefs and go about them in opposing ways. Char's reasoning for trying to create a nuclear winter is actually somewhat sensible - it's just that it doesn't warrant the killing of innocent people. He is still my favourite character of them all.
I think Zeta was such a joy to watch because it encapsulated and captured the dreams, aspirations, happiness, sorrows, despair and hope that each character had, especially Kamille since we all watched him grow up, only for him to suffer a crippling blow and become a literal vegetable. But he never fully recovers his only memories that return are his time in the Mark 2 and Zeta everything else is gone and he's so disgusted by war at that point he becomes a Doctor to do the opposite of killing as he hates violence that much after what happened to him.
great bass line!
Really good
聞こえますか?・・・アーガマ・・・
:( :( :(
Beautiful song though one of the most depressing endings I seen in anime that made me cry first time I saw that ending.
Jesus christ... I really see the tears of time!, Or are these just my tears?
So good, but so short which leaves me wanting more.
brings back lots of memories
Then suddenly antics occur on Shangri-La. Crazy shit, that Tomino.
お前もアーガマに帰りたいのね...
gundam MK 2....帰りたいのね.....
aww.. the sad ending song 4 the series.. brings back memories, yes , very epic..
子供の頃に初めて味わった失望感、それがz gundam。
Jamitov, on the other hand, even though he had power ambitions and never had issues about using earthnoids like Four to accomplish them, i still believe he was acting out of fear... Some earthnoids, specially the high ranked ones, knew the potential that the spacenoids had to prosper on their own, leaving the earthnoids to their fate. Or so the Federation believes. We can still see this fear in Gundam Unicorn, actually.
yes thank you, I realized that from going back and playing gundam vs zeta gundam his mind is just destroyed by scirocco.
And people say 08th MS Team was the more realistic series. Yeah the show where the two leads go off and live happily ever after in a cabin in the woods
ZZ gets a *lot* better. The first third is pretty awful, but things suddenly become serious - that is, Zeta level serious - right after that.
it's nuts because it's maybe the most wildly inconsistent piece of Gundam media out there. some absolutely insane highs and also some of the most inane bullshit in the series
Best Gundam OST ever
I can honestly say that after the original universal century MSG-CCA, Wing, and X that I have yet to watch I don't care for any other Gundam series' .. Maybe I'm biased but I don't care. Nothing comes close to Zeta it terms of sheer epicness
Thomas Travis except the second half of ZZ gundam.....
Jetfire48 second half of ZZ was nothing near Zeta but I love ZZ the more I watch it .. that second half was special I wish Kamille had a bigger role than he did. Although he kinda played the biggest role helping Judau realize his
Newtype potential
I am not sure if this will be an overstatement but Zeta Gundam is the Gundam equivalent to A Song of Ice & Fire
Veloric Wu
Since Zeta Gundam is much older, it would be the other way around, A Song of Ice & Fire being a fantasy equivalent to Zeta Gundam.
+Veloric Wu Elementary my dear Watson. Both Yoshiyuki Tomino and George R.R. Martin are "Kill'em All"
+Gonzalouch Ikari von Faustus
Yoshiyuki Tomino was the original "Kill 'Em All" guy. He's created other anime, including other Gundam shows, that were even more ruthless than Zeta Gundam... But after getting over his depression, Tomino eventually ended his "Kill 'Em All" streak with the more optimistic Turn A Gundam.
+Razor Edge Except with more gore and boobies.
asoiaf has much better characters though
This series ended on one hell of a cliffhanger as far as the U.S. dub was concerned. this came about the months before SEED came to the U.S. so I could see sort of how Bandai of America prioritized promoting that series over releasing a dub for Double Zeta, which kind of sucked considering SEED was pretty "meh". Then again ZZ isn't really looked highly upon.
One of the negatives I had with the Zeta Gundam English Dub was how they used an different voice cast, especially since Chars Counterattack was released years before this series hit U.S. shores and used the same dub cast from the original series.
@Mortskcab I can't agree enough. Zeta Gundam was my way into the UC continuity over a year ago, and I haven't looked at anime the same way since...
I would play this song for when Deborah dies in MacGyver: Unfinished Business...
Why does Char become evil in CCA? I don't understand
this song makes me feel like im drifting in space ;_;
know right that's exctally what i thought.
I agree, I also think same
I see. You want to go back to the Argama too...
Who’s listening in 2019?!
Some one please! Open the door!
It may be over, but Camille is forever changed. :(
@loneotaku Here, let me make you feel worse: how do you think the little kids felt once they realized Kamille wouln't be playing with them anymore?
Do you have Zeta's Pulse ~ Zeta Gundam, if so, where can I download?
I thought this also got a modified version for Char's Counterattack or it did remind me off it.
Tomino: "I just had a great idea! Lets make a gritty and unexpected finale and brainfry the main character. That will totally stop them from comercializing and ruining my dear Gundam hurr hurr "
Yeah, that worked totally fine, right?
Did Tomino say it? When?
Supposedly some interview several years ago (late 80s or early 90s) . It's widely assumed among the gundam fanbase that the reason for the high death count in Zeta was a combination of Tomino's depression and the desire to not get tied down by the gundam franchise.
He didn't like his work?
Marco Giolo More like he was against comercialization of his work, so he did many things to try to prevent his works from being milked for the sake of merchandise (which is why he did that slaughterfest in Ideon, for example).
Kam -zdov
Thanks for the explanation, I didn't know...
doesn't he begin to snap a few eps before and start ranting or am I remembering wrong?
yea it was something like "I understand now, a Newtypes only purpose is to kill people in war". Was that what you meant?
@@younggod5230 Yeah thanks. I was thinking he got ptsd and thats why he was acting like a child at the end...... but on 2nd watching i think it was the psychic attack. thats why i was curious i was trying to remember the awesome ending correctly lol
@Jagged85 ended up finding it. thanks!
@zetashiki1 Heh yes this is what I meant by not evil - they are just following what they think is correct, as twisted as some of those beliefs may be! Unfortunately some of the characters don't have enough background storyline to explain their actions, but of course they aren't saints!
@KingLazerman I didn't say it was a bad series, I said it had a depressing ending.
Argama MS team was completely brulated by this point if u think about it.
I love the G Gundam soundtrack just as much
I know what I'm watching today.
10 years and char is still one of the best characters
I feel lost...
@ThatOtherguyX Gundam 00 is a close second
Where can I download or buy this song?
