Just visited for 10 days. An amazing city with such a unique spirit and energy. I had friends decide not to come along because they saw it was the number one murder capitol in America. They missed out on such an amazing trip!
Lol murder capital? Oh my! Yes agree NOLA can have a bad reputation (like many other cities here in America) but am also 100% with you that the community, culture, and spirit of this city is electric and one of a kind. I’m so happy you loved it too!
One nice book that helped me a lot in my traveling to New Orleans was "Exploring New Orleans Like A Native" by Brandy Cole, I got that superb book on Amazon. I would have been lost without that book Thanks to that dude❤😊
The WWII Museum is also huge and excellent. There are a lot of parts of the city that are great to just walk around in and check out murals and unique architecture. Just don't go alone or late at night.
Hi there and welcome! Thank you for mentioning the WWII Museum. I'm adding this to my list for when we visit again. Luckily, we live in East Texas, so NOLA is only a short ride away.
When we went to Jackson Square, it was closed! We later figured out it was because they were filming a promo for the new Tiana’s Bayou ride at Disney World! So, we were initially disappointed we couldn’t go inside the square but are glad we got to see behind the scenes of the promo they were filming.
Aww thank you so much Maritza! New Orleans is such an easy city to make videos about because the culture is one of my favorites. Lots more travel videos coming up so make sure you’re subbed!
@@gotravelwithstaci I live in the PNW and your accent is not what I feel is common for a PNW accent (not sure why someone would assume you are from the West. :)
Cafe beignet is better than Cafe Du Monde. I have had both in French and the Cafe Du monde on williams, in kenner, and in city park as well. And have determined between spending lots of time money, resources, research and have determined Cafe Beignet is better.
Just spent 4 days there with husband and children (15, 11). The zoo was amazing. French Quarter was nice history wise and the food was great. But, just walking around was ok if you stay with large crowds in the day time. To say we did not feel safe is an understatement ! And I’m from Miami and my husband is from Atlanta. I would not recommend bringing children here. Las Vegas is more family friendly.
Yes, Las Vegas is surprisingly family-friendly. If I had kids, I'd hang out more outside the French Quarter and maybe more in areas like the Garden District or their gorgeous city park.
It was on my list to include but footage didn’t turn out. It is so dark in there which is great for atmosphere but not for cameras haha. I have better low-light filming gear now so I’ll be sure to get better shots next time.
Lol I call your “streetcar” a “trolley.” Personally, I enjoyed Cafe Beignet much better than Cafe du Monde, but everyone has their personal preference. Thank you for watching!
Love your video, but why go to the French Market? Most of the merchandise is made in China. The food is mediocre at best. Hundreds of great restaurants in The Quarter and in the Garden District. And avoid Cafe du Monde...go to Cafe Beignet on Royal Street...the beignets are much better and it has AC during those hot summer months. Try Drego's for grilled oysters. Thank me later.
Hi Michael! Yes I agree Cafe Beignet is my favorite. I talked about that in my food video. This video touches on the main places tourists hear of and want to see first because word of mouth has made them popular- even if they aren’t the best. I like to cover those tourists spots first, then come back with another video showing more local options we like better. Personally, I think Café du Monde is overrated, but I know tourists have heard of it and they want to go there, so I’ll talk about it… And then tell you to go to Café beignet lol. I caught a lot of flack for the places that I eat in my food video, but what I was trying to tell people is what types of food to eat, not necessarily any one restaurant in particular. Thought I’d tell you that just in case you watch that video next. Thanks so much for watching.
Wow, I just did a NOLA video and basically visited every place you named in this video. We had crawfish at that same spot in the French Market.. Wish we would’ve tried a Muffuletta looks delish!
What sights are on your list for your next (or first) visit to New Orleans?

I was there this year for my third Mardi Gras. It never gets old. It's always awesome.
It was so much fun!
This was such a fun video, felt like I was there with you. Just discovered your channel and can’t wait to watch all your trips.

Absolutely perfect! Headed to NOLA tomorrow for a couple days and this video helped so much with our plans!!!
yay hope you had a great trip!
Researching for my trip next month! Thanks for this video!!
thanks for watching!
You are SO AMAZING!! Thank you 💖💖💖
NOLA is SUCH an amazing place ♡ I can't wait to go back 😍
Agreed, Mandy!
As a native of New Orleans and licensed tour guide this video is amazing. But we call them Street Cars (for historical reasons) not trolleys ❤️⚜️
hahaha Yes, I knew this, but I couldn't seem to stop calling them trolleys. I'll do better next time. Thank you so much for watching!
trolly lines...west coaster are coming for us
@@Kerzun lol I’m not west coast 🤣

What types of tours do you offer? I'll be visiting next month + would love to take one from a local!
That’s the first time I’ve ever heard our streetcars called a “trolley”. Lol. Cool vid though. Thanks for visiting!!!
Hahaha I call all those overground cars trolleys 😂
Great Video,very informative!!!! Thank you
Thank you so much April!

100% agree! Ugh now I want to eat a beignet 😆
Thanks great video
thanks for watching!
We love NOLA and go every year :))
I really should go more, since it’s so close to where we live. Each time, I am sad to leave lol
Nice place for a 4 day weekend
It sure is! Thanks for watching 😊

Why wouldn’t you recommend bringing kids? I’m planning a trip there so curious about it.
At 11 and 15 they’d be old enough to remember and appreciate such a trip
I've watched about 50 home N.O. trip videos and not one has gone to Port Of Call
It was on my list to include but footage didn’t turn out. It is so dark in there which is great for atmosphere but not for cameras haha. I have better low-light filming gear now so I’ll be sure to get better shots next time.
No trolleys here, only streetcars! And Cafe Beignet is a knock-off - beignets are not supposed to be dense/doughy like theirs
Lol I call your “streetcar” a “trolley.” Personally, I enjoyed Cafe Beignet much better than Cafe du Monde, but everyone has their personal preference. Thank you for watching!
French quarter is the heart of New Orleans, but bourbon street is the heart beat
I think it's the people of NOLA who are the heartbeat 💗
you should do more amazon essential videos.
Hi Hanad and thank you for watching. I am currently testing products for my next Amazon upload so be sure you're subscribed so you don't miss it!
Really beautiful place
It truly is! So much to see and so much more to offer than most realize. Thank you so much for watching, Kea!
Can you please tell me the name of the artist you bought from?
Hi Jerrica! Yes, the artist name is Elaine Adel Cummins. Her card didn’t have a website but she did mention a Facebook page. Hope this helps!
beignets
1. morning call
2. cafe du monde
3. cafe beignet
I’ll have to try Morning Call bendy time we are in town. Thanks for the suggestion!
We do not have trolleys in New Orleans - they are Street Cars!
I just call them all trolleys- anywhere in the world.
A fun place to visit , a nightmare place to live !!
I haven't lived there but have friends who do. While I'm sure there are issues like any city, they seemed to be lifers.
New Orleans switch from 4pm to 4am
Thanks for watching!
Cafe Beignet for sure. 🤌🏽
💯

New Orleans is older than the state
I love the history of New Orleans, too!
Bring lots of money
haha I bring all my money for food!
I hate Lousiana and New Orleans!
I’m sorry to hear that KingErvin 😞

The Muffuletta is soooo good! I liked the crawfish too but they aren't as good as we can make here at home. Home cooking is always the best!
