- In this day and age, all of us have become some sort of celebrities. Naturally, all of us subject to hate, mean comments, bashing, cancelling. Lalo na if medyo active sa socmed. And I had been often asked, ano nga ba ang dapat gawin when you are being hated on? And how should I feel? 💭 Well… I answered it on the vlog.

I love you rica… a mother of three here.. dati im so obscessed in cleaning the house.. yong tipong OC OC na dapat organized tlga kasi yong thinking natin mga pinoy na kung hindi maayos ang bahay. Tayo mga wife ang may kasalanan, as if we are not doung our job. So for many married years ive been into that turmoil to a point na hindi ko na macontrol yong emotion ko kasi fed up na ako sa thinking na kung hindi maayos ang bahay.. masamang ina o housewife na ako. But i forgot because of that strict rule na bawal ganito, or pg uwi ko ngbahay instead of laugher o joy ang mkikita na face ko ng mga anak ko ang nakikita nila is a terror mom. When we had our reunion my sister-in-law shared something that change my perception on things.. sabi pa nya.. i know you want best for your kids. You want your house to be called home. Pero kung conscious masyado tayo sa sasabihin ng ibang tao. You will not create a happy home but a structured one. Hindi naman cguro ikaw mamamatay kung may kunting kunot yong higaan mo diba?.. may panahon din na wala kanang chikiting. Maayos mo ron yan.. wag ka masyado magpaniwala sa mga post sa media o sa picture kasi karamihan nyan for sure bfore ngtake ng photo , sangkatutak na ayos pa ang ginawa. At marami din silang kasambahay. ..this statement really changed me. Kaya sa mga nega na marumi ang bahay.. hay nko wait till you get there 😂🤣 na maging nanay kayo at wala kayong kasama sa bahay.
My key takeaway after watching would be "The offline matters more than the online."
We should not be consumed by people's perception and opinions about us. I love it when you say go back to the people that really knows you and tell you in private their thoughts about you. Thank you Ms Rica for the reminder.
Super! I had (mixed) lifegroup "friends" and a woman mentor who shamed me in public. After that, I had church trauma na so I began church-hopping and I tried to find a family talaga. Shame and condemnation is not from God kasi, but that is what I received in that place na I thought "safe space." I still had my ladies from purple book who correct me out of love (actually, they more of pray with me and remind me what is right and what are the things that I am already doing right). Deleted na my facebook account and to be honest, I am at my happiest only when I am at my most peaceful. Not to say na there is an absence of storms, but there is fullness of joy esp when I am surrounded by women of God who remind me my identity in Christ instead of reminding me what is wrong in me.
Awwww, thanks Ate for this. I remember when I was in a family reunion. Syempre may kainan. So syempre, niyaya ako kumain. So habang kumakain, nagkukwentuhan kami ng mga pinsan ng asawa ko na masarap yung ramen sa ganito ganyan. Biglang nagsabi yung uncle ng husband ko, "kaya ka di mabuntis, kain ka ng kain." di niya alam umiiyak ako halos araw araw for several years thinking kung bakit sa kabila ng efforts ko to take medicines, choose food, etc. Di pa rin ako mabuntis. 😆 It's just one random comment pero it never left me.
Tapos one time, may babaeng nang aaway sa husband ko, because of something na di naman namin kasalanan. Pati ako tinatawagan several times in the middle of the night. I kept my silence because I'm not involved. In the morning, di na ako naka tiis because she kept shouting at my husband on the phone. Noong nag text siya sa akin, i replied back and said na please don't shout at my husband. Nagreply siya ng mahaba tapos sa dulo sabi niya, "sana mabuntis ka na, para di na miserable ang buhay mo" when it's not even part of the topic.
The first commentator, di niya alam yung struggle ko kaya I tried to brushed off. The second one, she knows because i confided to her because she's a friend. Both are painful. I can forgive but it leaves scars and memories. Kaya sana kung di lang din maganda yung sasabihin natin, wag nalang tayo magsalita. 😅 Also choose friends.

This is my motto now, naks may pa-motto. "Hindi ako dumpsite kung saan mo itatapon lahat ng kalat mo sa life mo." 😆

Hi there! I was in your shoes few years back. Kaliwa at kanan ang parinig kung kailan kami magkakaanak. We tried everything. We spent thousands of dollars just to get pregnant. I put my body in so much stress and pressure dahil sa medication. We live here in the US. The doctors said nothing is wrong with me and hubby. Talagang di lang nangyayari. Fast forward, we moved out para malayo sa in laws ko. I've been in peace since. And we realized that we don't really have to have kids to be happy. We were just expected to kaya matagal naming sinubukan. Maybe it's not for us. We are childfree and enjoying every moment of it. Mas happy kami ngayon. Now when people are asking about it, di na ako apektado. I just wanted to tell you to let go of what you can't control, your married life is already a blessing itself. And if God gives you a child, then it's for you. If not, there's a reason why. God bless and I wish you the best!

And I am blessed with a husband that understands my situation. He always say na bonus lang ang anak, but what he really wanted is to be with me.

Sometimes, because we’re just human, and we’re still in this broken world, we tend to seek validation from “broken” people. And I just realized the value of maybe “knowing” what these people say about you, but at the end of the day, you have to be sure about yourself of who you really are in the eyes of your creator.

Thanks Rica for this wonderful vlog. I always believe in the mantra, "Live and let live." Live in a way you don't step on other people' toe and if they're stepping on yours be at peace in the knowledge that sooner or later their wrongdoings will gonna come right back at them. It's true that it helps to simply ignore the people who do not deserve even a bit of your attention. You will be surprised at the kind of peace it brings by simply believing that some people no longer exist.

I have learned to completely ignore those kind of people, as in literally like they don’t exist anymore. It may not work for others but sure did work for me. And I feel at peace. true enough live within the offline world. I remember one time I have to stay offline for a day. Really refreshing...Di ko makalimutan yung nag post yung parent ng estudyante ko kasi natulak ng Grade 6 anak nya. May nag comment na " Baka may ginagawa si teacher..." but I just ignored na lang since I know the real story. Bottomline: di mo sila ka level lol

well i love what you said "go back to your loving community." sila naman talaga ung mga totoong tao na magsasabi sa'yo kung ano ka at tanggap ka kahit minsan magulo ang bahay natin. eto lang naman po un, expect mo talaga na kapagmay bata sa bahay, magulo talaga sya. at may time naman napagrested / sleep na ung kids, maayos na ulet ang bahay. sometimes for me i love messy house especially pagkasama mo mga kids. it's shows there's really a bonding in your home. we allow our children to act as kids, be free, and express nila kung ano sila. na hindi natin nalilimitahan ung kakayanan nila. we also let them feel it's okay to run, hide, cry, be disappointed, be happy, etc... and also it's okay to fail. we learn from our mistakes and rise again. I was canceled but i just ignored and prayed for them.. Hindi kasi nakakatulong kapag papatulun ko pa sila. God is great, those persons knew me ang nagdefend sa akin cause I was silent only for everything they were throwing at me.

We should always be wise in using the social media platform, sometimes we used it to shame someone else without even knowing what will be the impact to the both of you.. sometimes we use social media to get symphaty from the netizens around the world, and because of that the situation or the issue get worsen instead of settling it as quick as how it spread.. may masabi lang Ang mga tao makikisawsaw kahit di alam Ang buong storya.. is it because we have freedom.. sana naman gamitin natin Ang social media in a nicer way than what we used to do.
Social media supposedly is to connect people around the world not to put barrier or separate one another.. imagine we are already separated by distance and time and through technology parang Hindi natin ito nararamdaman, that's why we should not take advantage on it.
I love you Rica, you inspired me to take up jumping rope at the age of 55 (to replace swimming due to corona pandemic). Continue to be the salt and light in the world wide web.

I was very active in social media before but lately I try not to participate much, I just check IG more and try not to read the comments. Socmed has become too toxic and it is easy to get caught up with it. We need to take a break from it not just from time to time but it should be most of the time. We should not make social media our life. I spend more time now just listening to music and watching educational videos. I'm an 80s child and I find it more nostalgic just living life without being online.
