    Great video - THX!!!
    I completely agree with the wide tail of the boards - makes things just easier!

    As always great video and your counsel is spot on. As an aging kite boarder I've really struggled strapless, I can see the value it for me in the surf but our wind is so spotty, if it does get good I have to choose between sailing and enjoying it or struggling. I'm hoping to keep up the struggle till it gets comfy, thanks for the inspiration I'll keep trying!

    Nice one, like always! Totally with you on straps! I've got a Mako Duke and a 5,4 surf board that's been a bit reinforced, but still pretty fragile. Love the feel in the waves and for doing little pops. If I want to really boost I grab a twintip, but almost never happens anymore. Keep er up!

      Nice, almost exactly the same here! (But with Jester) and agreed, once you start getting jumps etc, its hard to get the twintip out again.,.. just so fun strapless :)

      Awesome! Thanks Petr, I am happy to hear you are getting something out of the videos even as a seasoned kitesurfer! Lots more to come :)

    Good video man. I just recently removed all the straps on my whole quiver. Why didn’t I do it sooner?! What a difference. Come to Fuerteventura. I usually rent my place out to friends and other kiters. Cheers, M

    Thank you so much for the discussion, very enlightening. And thank you for discussing strap vs strapless!
    I’m new to the sport and I’m still riding a twin tip. Could you talk about transitioning from a twintip to a directional?

    Best video about kite surfboards in UA-cam!

    Nb - would you be considering a tutorial on how to make strapless transitions (jibe) with an focus on how to coordinate kite and board turn?

    Awesome and timely video thank you! I just bought an 8’6 mini mal yesterday as my first strapless board lol! It is a fibreglass, not epoxy board.
    Given my weight of 100kg, what sort of wind would I need to go upwind on a 12m kite? We are going into the lower wind season here now. The board has a low rocker, being a mini mal. Also DR looks amazing. Thanks!

      Hey Joe, well thats a big board, and you will be able to get planning pretty easy, i would try it in 12knts and see how you go... the hardest part will be turning... but i would be very interested how you find it. let me know! It might also be an idea to look at foiling :)

    First things first... Before I know anything about length I need to google feet to meter.
    Metric is better, let's start a heated discussion!

      hahaha mate. that's so funny I completely agree..
      Once we started shaping our own boards (some time after this video) I've been writing all my dims in mm haha. Globally however, board size is still defined in Imperial..even in Australia... haha

    • @Xsuperkraft
      @Xsuperkraft 4 роки тому

      haha - was the same to me - but all boards are basically defined in feet - it's really not a problem. Once you know your own height in feet you have a good reference ...

    Great explanation mate! What do you think about those diamond shape boards like the Duotonoe Whip or the Tomo Evo? Worth the money on the freestyle field?

    Awesome information thanks. What would you recommend for someone 168cm 80kg that wants to get into strapless surfboard?

    What is the board without a tip? Like the somewhat square strapless board.

      These are all slightly older models now,
      but left to right is a board from Cabrina,
      the Ocean Rodeo Jester,
      and a surboard of mine (not hand shaped).
      Happy to answer any questions if your board shopping :) We also have the middle board we might be able to sell you if your interested.

      @@FlukesKitesurfing Yeah about length, how is it flying with a surfboard?
      Turkish Airlines takes them for free and all, but for example with rianair or other companies is there a good and cheap way to take your board? I am scared of buying a board since I feel like having to go with a shorter board to be able to fly with it...

    What (in kg) do you consider light / heavy!

    • @FlukesKitesurfing
      @FlukesKitesurfing  6 років тому

      Hey Lars, 2KG is the light end of surfboards,, and 3KG heavy. I would say the Cabrina here, though is over 3kg.. Its insanely heavy.

      😬🤣 My F-one Mitu 5"8/ 20 liters is at 3,3 kg...how much is the Ocean Rodeo. They don't write weight on their homepage?

    • @FlukesKitesurfing
      @FlukesKitesurfing  6 років тому

      Hey Lars, I am not sure on the exact weight, its a little heavier than my surfboard, but lighter than your average kitesurfing board.
