Yes, I could see why some would want it $100 cheaper. To me the value is all there though especially as a content creator because I would pay $100 an hour for a good cameraman.
This companies’ new XR Pro Max version is gonna be awesome when it drops. 8K 30FPS! 4K 120 FPS. It also will have HDR on the 4K and 10 bit, professional color options. Gonna be a super dope way to catch video. It also is gonna have a much bigger sensor. And quotes a 16 minute flight time, which means should be able to get 9-12 minutes. The real question will be cost.
I’m so excited about the Pro Max for sure. 🤫 I may have gotten to test out the new Pro and Pro Max at a secret meeting yesterday. You have a right to be excited.
Yep, love the HoverAir! Great for taking on hikes too. The orbit mode on top of a mountain is a great way to capture the moment with friends. Great review Michael and one thing he mentioned that I’ll further state: the portability and ease of use really is a game changer. I’ve had a couple other DJI drones and finally faced it: it’s too much hassle to deal with the drone and the separate controller in terms of transporting it (even DJI minis), setup etc. With the HoverAir, it literally fits in a pocket or takes up almost no space in the side pocket of a backpack and then can be deployed for a quick video in seconds. Almost as fast as taking a good photo/video with a smartphone but with the added features of solid stable filming.
Cool video ! The X1 indeed makes a high pitched annoying noise, i hope they fix this with the ProMax. Two questions: 1. Could crashes on trees affect the gimbal? It looks kind of exposed. 2. How fast can you charge one battery fully ,if you connect a PD powerbank to the hover charging hub ? 3. Does it detect well the hand gestures in low light or from a 5m distance ?
Haven't had any issues with the gimbal after crashes. 2. haven't tested that but I've felt they charge pretty quick. It does not perform very well in low light so I dpn't fly i much is darker times.
Great review with lots of detail its a great little drone and worth getting . I have ordered the x1 pro max from Indigogo whuch was been tracked and out on delivery to me on the 4th of November and half way through the day the tracking stoped and remain so for the next 3 days so at this stage i knew that the drone had flown away 😢 i called UPS to explain that the tracking had stopped and they also was puzzled and have started an investigation on the matter. Hoverair have not been helpful at all as i am still waiting for a replacement ski pack and it's now the 24th November but at this stage i have ran out of patience now and just might tackel this little guy as i am just a now and then usse.
This will still be less expensive and it’s slightly smaller than the pro and pro max. It is also lighter and the firmware is solid. I got to be one of the first to test the new drones coming and they are awesome but more targeted towards the adventure seeker. So if that’s you then yes, wait for them.
Hi there..I just got an X1 and its great, however I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but when its in Follow mode and I want to get it back it doesn’t return to me when I finish the flight. I tried using gestures which appear not to work, so I have to resort to manual mode to get it near me..any idea would be welcome, aside from that issue its a great flying camera😊
In follow mode, you have to walk to it and hold your palm out for it to land on. The gestures like the crossing of your arms is for the dolly track others that would cause the drone to move away from you when you approach it. I just always walk up to it and put my palm out in the follow mode.
@@dewayneparrish2437I watched some of the newer reviews of the Max and Max Pro. The folks who tested it said it would run around 15 minutes. I won't get the Max or the Max Pro because of the battery life. The battery costs around 60. However, if the battery were better and the cost was cheaper, I would have preordered it in a heart beat.
I haven't had a single person complain to me about the noise. MNost of the time I'm launching it so quick and getting my shots that people don't even have time to ask me anything. if they do, they just want to know how I pulled a drone out of my pocket and it followed me everywhere and where they can get one, too.
Where is your RID device. For UA-cam content creation the FAA says you must fly under part 107 which requires registration and remote ID no matter what the weight.
@@MANSHED You don't have to be paid just use the video or have the video used in the furtherance of a business. Just it being on UA-cam does that. Until the FAA changes the wording or instates a new class of drones we all need to be careful and try not to mislead the new comers to drone usage.
@@bobwhitewo3b I'm not "misleading" anyone. "just being on UA-cam" is not a violation of the FAA rules. There is no rule that says you can't take a video with your recreational drone and post it on UA-cam. It has to be for commercial use purpose. 99% of the people buying this drone will not buy it for commercial use cases in my opinion because it is more like a toy similar to an RC plane. This was simply me sharing my experience using this drone, and it was not meant as an educational video on the dos and don'ts of drone flying in the USA. :)
The best price on the HOVERAir X1:

I use it too. It's a very nice drone, though if it were under $100, it would be a steal.

I can see how this will be very useful to use when you need to get those quick shots.
Great review Mike! And I agree the x1 is like having a cameraman. It’s so useful and convenient!
Definitely! 🎉 Great hanging out with you yesterday.
@@MANSHED thanks again for the insights!

Totally agree! I love it on hikes but especially when mountain biking. I’m excited to try their new HOVERAir Pro & ProMax for my mountain bike rides.

Do we need to get permit for this kind of drone?

How long/amount of time did it run on the battery
5-10 minutes depending on how much maneuvering and wind there was.
@@MANSHED is that for both X1 vs Maxpro

They look very interesting, but there is aderth of proper reviews out there, bit risky splashing out what they want with no idea how they perform
Neo will kill it
I disagree, NEo is targeted at a different user and with the release of the HOVERAir X1 Pro and Pro Max they will still have advantage over the Neo.
It's amazing but it's too noisy and will cause a lot of people to complain about noise pollution.
