- In this McDonald's television commercial from circa 1990, an overprotective father unplugs his television to prevent his daughters from seeing Elvis Presley perform on the Ed Sullivan show. He blames the outage on a blackout, and takes his daughters and his wife to McDonald's instead. Although Ed Sullivan is mentioned by name, the commercial goes out of its way to avoid mentioning Elvis by name.

I was 8 when he first appeared on Ed Sullivan, my teenage aunts were screaming thru all 3 song. I have never seen a show like that since. I became a Rocker that night!

Well... To state the obvious- McDonalds' debris will have fully decomposed into dust and the hole in the ozone (from all those 80's burger boxes) will have healed itself, and the sight of Elvis will still thrill all the girls!

I remember thinking something similar. My mom and aunts grew up with Elvis and if my grandfather had pulled that stunt I would've never met him.
