But HSR in Europe is still able to operate at 300 to 320 kph safely on gravel tracks. It's impressive
I remember when the Acela was introduced and they announced top speed of 150 MPH (240 KPH). And to make matters even funnier, the train couldn't go past 100 MPH because the track can't handle the speed. What a joke. The TGV and Shinkansen was already twice as fast by then. The other problem is, our Amtrak trains are exorbitantly expensive. To take an Acela "bullet train" from NYC to Washington you are looking at $200. You may as well take a flight for that price.

the thalys is a partnership between the Dutch, German, Belgian and French railways. the Belgian, German and French railways are the joint owners of thalys. The Netherlands is only a partner in providing services
No, Thalys now belongs only to the SNCF (France) and the NMBS ("National Railway Company of Belgium"). The Deutsche Bahn owned only 10% of the shares in Thalys between 2007 and mid-2013. It stems from cooperation between France and Belgium, which has existed since the mid-1920s. The countries you have mentioned are approached by the Thalys trains (in Germany trains only travel in the Ruhr area to Cologne and Dortmund). The routes focus on the Benelux countries (especially Belgium and the Netherlands) and France. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thalys
When Chinese tourists come to U.S., these are the impressions they get: Dangerous streets in many urban areas, especially at night. Old and outdated infrastructures, mainly the bridges, roads and highways ,subway and buses, trains ,airports, libraries and government buildings. Dangerous people wander the streets at night time. Lots of drugs going around. Unfriendly officials, including the police, airport workers, and subway workers. Push carts at the airports used at a price, where many other airports in many countries the carts are free to use.
You might be right on that but, why are so many of your women coming to our country to have their babies here? Why are our Universities crowded with Chinese students? Remember, China does not create anything by its own merit. It copies and steals ideas from many countries, especially the USA, but the one thing the Chinese desperately wants, but will never be able to copy or steal, its called: FREEDOM. What's the sense of having so many good things available if you don't have freedom to enjoy them as you please? We might have dangerous streets but no one is watching you 24/7. Anything you say against your corrupt government, might land you in a hard labor camp thanks to the complicity of your neighbors or your own family members that will betray you in return for favors. Just think about that before you open your big stinking mouth.

This fact is true mainly because of the Spanish new technologies of the Talgo and others, and also because all the lines tend to run through Madrid...They are very well distributed throughout the whole of Spain...
You can see both the European type and Japan type in early China because we bought both techs to find out which is suitable for China's environment. Finally, we found out they have their own advantages (The Japanese type is more suitable for crossing tunnels)
A French specificity which will be imposed on all high speed trains in the future is the introduction of a second floor on it. This way they can make the train more cost-effective.

It's not too expensive, it's just not the best solution. The average commute time in the US is roughly half that of the nations in this video. The US spends its money on roadways and private mobility, moving people point to point rather than directing people through various hubs.

The Maglev / Transrapid in Shanghai is also a German vehicle because it was built by ThyssenKrupp-Transrapid and is a slightly adapted version of the Transrapid 08.

Thalys is from France not Netherland
But they still operate in the Netherlands and Belgium
From both
its of course French but it operates in the low countries including the Netherlands.
the thalys is a partnership between the Dutch, German, Belgian and French railways. the Belgian, German and French railways are the joint owners of thalys.

When Chinese tourists come to U.S., these are the impressions they get:
Dangerous streets in many urban areas, especially at night.

It's not too expensive, it's just not the best solution. The average commute time in the US is roughly half that of the nations in this video. The US spends its money on roadways and private mobility, moving people point to point rather than directing people through various hubs.
