Advise on preserving the life of your DCT: 1/ Use the manual selector when possible. 2/ When stopped at traffic lights push into neutral and hold your brake pedal. 3/ DCT fluid change at 80,000 to 100,000 miles. Much better to do the above then shell out 8 to 10K for another transmission.
In the UK with a Deathrow Records hoodie. 👍🏾. I have a 550whp e90 335i with a 6AT. I’ll be doing a DCT swap later this year. Thanks for the video. Good info.
@@LS10Works yeah N54 to n55 works but what about N55 to N54. I am trying to make the swap but I am being told I may have to use a stand alone gcu because the n55 uses a earth net to usb and N54 uses the Kline . I have the 09 335x drive lci and they say that after 08 they started using d can over the k line . So I am still trying to figure out which obd plug I am running. Just wondering if you ever heard of any one swapping a dct n55 or an m3 dct to a 335i N54 with an x delete? Really hard stuff to find. Wanted the 6 speed but don’t wanna deal with pushing in the clutch. I have the automatic with xhp stage 3 map and and that and the design is pushing me towards that swap build! Just need help figuring out the gcu to esu!?
Hi, no it is a UK spec 335i with a DCT box from factory. They are quite rare over here with around 194 made with the N54 engine. Vary similar to the 335is in the states :)
Hi, no I'm not on any WhatsApp groups unfortunately. I am considering flashing the xhp dct map at some point in the near future as I also have heard good things :)
What about when u are at a stop or traffic light? Do u flip it to N or u just fully press the brakes while on D? I’ve heard people say that the dct on 335i will automatically disengage the clutch when u r on D and fully pressed brakes on a full stop.
Just pressing the brake pedal fully at a traffic light disengages the clutch. If its a long set of lights I sometimes knock it into N but not essential. :)
@@LS10Works then the moment the brake is release, the clutch engaged back automatically without pressing the throttle am i correct? Because in the M3 u’d have to press the throttle to engage the clutch

After this video i bought mine, love it
Awesome video - I compared a 335i DCT against M135i ZF. Same engines with completely different power delivery
Thank you 😊 - I'll check it out, I have subscribed to your channel 😀
@@LS10Workscheers, that means a lot. Seems like we're at a very similar stage of our UA-cam career currently
It does indeed, good luck with it mate :)

Hay muy pocos n54 con dkg!!!!! es un placer conducirlos, se fabricaron creo que un año solo
Imagine having a automatic manual you can upgrade clutches and make it faster easier. That is a DCT
Exactly 😁😁
Can you pull a dct out of a n55 and use that transmission in a N54 . Can you switch the harness or what would you have to do to make that swap?
I would say so as the DCT in the N54 went into the N55 LCI models. With the box harness and other bits and bobs I would say it's definitely doable :)

Good question and unfortunately above my expertise but if you find out let me know, as I would love to know :)
Did you do a dct swap? Or you driving an actual 335is? Trying to get some swap info.

@@LS10Works Hi where did you get the 194 number. I've got one too and I've seen a few now around my end
BMW car magazine. Specifically the e92 N54 DCT :)
Are you on the 335i WhatsApp group? Have you tried xHP for the DCT? most on the DCT group recommend it highly

Brilliant, I've just joined thank you 😊

Yes , it's slightly different to the m3. It will start to creep when the brake pedal is released in drive..
Always wanted a dct e92 with a turbo LS swap.
Now that I would like to see 👀 😁😁
If i bought the dct gwarbox alone how can i flash it to make it work as a standalone
You can use xHP to remove creep.
I think this will be the next step 😬😁😁
Nice Deathrow records sweatshirt bro.
Thanks mate 👍🏼
