@@TheMrHeadhunter Hi again! I've been using my new phone for about a week and can confidently say I love it. I got the Pro version so I can take the 50mps super high res photos, but even without photos look great. There's a lot of bells and whistles I haven't really used yet, there's only really a few I use regularly. The main ones are the photo editing tools. I took a photo of some food with a friend in the background wearing a work lanyard, and I wanted to use the pic for a good review, so google's eraser was great for removing the work lanyard to make my friend unidentifiable. The main photo editing tools are pretty much the same as Pixel 2xl but a bit improved. I also love using the new photo modes like "action pan" to take artsy photos of animals that just won't sit still. I have some kittens and It's absolutely amazing for capturing their energy while having a point of focus like the face. for the temperature sensor if you go with the pro version, I actually quite like it and have been using it to check the temperature of my pan or oil for cooking tempura since I don't have a good thermometer, and it's fun party trick when around iphone users. Finally as for daily use, besiced camera features I personally don't really do anything crazy with my phone daily so it feels a lot like my pixel 2XL but more polished, and of course receives all the new software and security updates which the Pixel 2 doesn't get anymore. First time viewer, and now subscriber. I do think this is the best review on the pixel 8 I have seen. I like how you speak naturally. The only thing is that I find the background music a bit loud and was a bit distracting. Had a hard time figuring out what you were saying. Even then I still enjoyed the video.
I have both the Pixel 7 Pro and 8 Pro! Overall, the improvement in both the camera (pro mode) and battery are noticeable. The most noticeable area is the new UI layout....I do a lot of creative photography and the Pixel 7 Pro was one of Google's first Pixel phone to offer both the quality and features to make it happen but the Pixel 8 Pro which now offers "manual" mode (pro mode") has made my ability to continue my fun to further heights. Light photography layered with astrophotography is one of the area where the phone shines and leaps and bounds ahead of any of its competitors that its not even comparable. Now with apps like Insta360 and Capcut, honestly the Pixel 8 Pro isn't that much fast at all but this isn't something that I am worried about. The smoothness of the UI w/the new refresh rate and new nits really makes for an overall smooth phone usage. If I wasn't focus on using the camera features to its limit...I probably would've just stayed back with the Pixel 7 Pro and maybe waited for the next Pixel line since I have an actual camera which I use for my hobbies when I am serious but the ability to just whip out my phone to produce similar results is amazing. Obviously in the end, you want to see the difference between the 7 Pro and base Pixel 8. I would say wait it out for the next model considering the base 8 isn't necessarily a big upgrade but still a modest one. The one big feature taken out moving to the Pixel 8 is the "sphere" mode which I really like and focus on using quite a bit since I creating sharing 360 VR content that the 7 Pro makes sense to continue to keep around. Sharing flat photos is just not the same as sharing an immersive one.
From the point of view of a normal user, looking for a good phone with good camera just to click my own pictures, etc is 8 a better choice than 8 pro considering the price difference is almost $240-250?

I switched to the iPhone 15 this year instead of going with the pixel 8 like I have for the past few years and while I still love the Pixel like, apple surprisingly improved a lot of the issues and annoyances back from the iPhone 6 days. I just at this point can’t justify paying for the meh tensor performance and likely just ok battery life
If they’re never going to bring back the fingerprints scanner on the back I would rather have a fingerprint scanner on the power button. Not these in-display ones, they’re crap.
The old-fashioned fingerprint scanners, the ones that worked reliably and fast, likely cost 2 dollars. This is so annoying - especially for people with dry skin. I hate the underscreen scanner on my Samsung.
I've been waiting for a smaller pixel. After the monstrous pixel 6 and still big pixel 7 I've decided to keep my pixel 3. I like smaller phones.. Maybe I'll upgrade to the pixel 8 eventually refurbished. Sweet deal
Pixel design is great but with notable network issues. 4G is quite unstable, and 5G doesn't work at all in the African market. If you have the Pixel 6a...I would recommend you go for the Pixel 8 over the Pixel 7. I have both the 7 Pro and 8 Pro and there is a noticeable difference in both smoothness of overall UI, camera and battery! Obviously you aren't choosing the Pro models but the regular one should still be plenty if you're just a everyday regular users that isn't focus on any thing in particular other than wanting your phone to just work when you use it. My only thing with the Pixel 8 Pro is some of these unique features are delayed release as part of their nonsense. I am big on creative photography and the Pixel 7 Pro was one of Google's better camera that gave good results but the 8 Pro with its manual mode made a whole world of difference. Most people don't make use of some of its features nor know how....night photography especially light photography layered with landscape astrophotography is like WOW. I recommend you get Pixel 8 just because of the long term update support claimed by Google.
Around 9:28 what are you comparing the pixel to with the ai photo features that it's slow? Also it does most of the work from a server so that takes some time too. Don't leave information out, that's kinda shady.

I recommend you get Pixel 8 just because of the long term update support claimed by Google.
i was listening until this guy tried to put me on temu fuck that

Around 9:28 what are you comparing the pixel to with the ai photo features that it's slow? Also it does most of the work from a server so that takes some time too. Don't leave information out, that's kinda shady.
What exactly is shady? Server or not, is it slow or not?

They suck. Mine freezes CONSTANTLY. And i thought the camera would be good. It's no better than my OnePlus 8t, and that one sucked.
Try putting your finger actually on the reader, bullshit.
