Do I Look Ugly With a Half Of My Body? Cat's Tearful End After Undergo a Suffering Life
On January 24, 2024, on Jamaica Avenue in Woodhaven, Queens, a horrifying truth was discovered. A person had been hoarding countless cats in a small apartment. Many cats were found thrown out of the apartment, while others were trapped inside. In total, over 30 cats were rescued from the dire conditions.
These cats had undoubtedly endured very difficult lives. But among them, there was one particular kitten who had survived despite a severe disability. This cat, who could only walk on two legs, was found outside the apartment. It was unclear whether he had been thrown out of a window or had jumped in fear for his life.
The rescuers named him Legend, honoring his strength, determination, and will to survive. Despite facing immense challenges, Legend persevered and survived. He was taken to a veterinary hospital to begin his journey to recovery.
Due to the deformity of his hind legs, which affected his mobility and caused pain, the veterinarians decided that surgery was necessary to improve his quality of life.

No Legend, you are not ugly, you are beautiful in soul and body. Despite your physical impairment, you are a joy to watch as you overcome one challenge after the next. You exude resilience and strength. Thanks a million to the kind and compassionate individuals who rescued you from a life of misery, adopted you unconditionally and gave you wings to fly. A huge thanks to the rescuers and especially the family who adopted Legend and gave him a forever, loving home. A very brave little cat who hasn't let his terrible disabilities stop him. He is inspirational.
He is. After witnessing the original video of these cats being thrown out of the window last winter in Queens by the landlord (there was a tuxedo cat that looked like legend in the video) I am so happy to see this beautiful and precious cat in a happy home. I sincerely hope the cat rescue organization that was trying to pursue charges against the landlord for throwing all these cats out the second story window has successfully brought justice to Legend and all the other cats who suffered that day.
@@JakeStarAstrella What a horrible, ghastly thing to do. Those poor cats 😢 What kind of monster does something like that? I have 8 rescue cats. Most of them were dumped but in 1996 I had an urgent phonecall from a friend of mine who did rescue. She needed an emergency foster for a cat she'd just managed to get. I was in a private rented house at the time and already had 4 cats with my landlady's permission. Initially I said "No", then she said "I'm desperate and this little cat is crippled". My next words were "Bring her over".
Well, this beautiful tortoiseshell and white cat, mostly tortoiseshell with a white bib and paws limped out of the cat carrier, rolled on her back for me to rub her belly and looked me straight in the eye. Instantly, a bond was formed. I just said to my friend "Don't look for a home for her. She's got one now". She was an older cat, about 8 years old. That one night emergency foster lasted for 15 years and she passed at the grand age of 23. She had been crippled by her owners who used her as a football. They managed to snap the tendon in her right front leg with the result she walked on the back of that paw and couldn't retract her claws. I had her examined at my vets a couple of days later and he gave me two choices. Either to amputate her leg or keep her as an indoor cat as she did hold the leg up but used it to dig her litter box or wash her face. She became an indoor cat.
A few days later my landlady visited. I told her about Lucy (the name I gave the cat) and her story. She met Lucy and although she was a dog lover, fell in love with Lucy too. Lucy was at my side through some very difficult times of my life when my then 8 year old son was diagnosed with serious kidney problems. Being crippled didn't stop Lucy either. She was faster than any of the rest of my cats and even in old age when she went blind could still jump on the highest chest of drawers and ambush me coming through the door.
It's been many years since she passed away and I have her ashes on my bedside table. She lives on in my heart and memories and always will. As for her previous owners, about a year after I got Lucy, a man from the same area she came from was arrested by the police and charged with animal cruelty of a dog and a kitten. He got the maximum jail term at the time of 5 years.

He just goes on with life without so much as a second thought of having no legs or tail.
This kitty is so inspirational!! His soul shines through & he is beautiful in every way. Humans can learn a lot from cats. To those who see value in life,this kitty's life mattered & you made a difference in giving this kitty hope & love. Thank you to the vet, their techs & those who adopted him as a forever family member, THANK YOU for saving this precious kitty's life & loving him as he conquered each obstacle he faced & will face. Tonight as always, I will pray that God watches over all the cats since I know that we can't save every single stray, abused or abandoned cat & this breaks my heart. Mother Teresa (I'm paraphrasing) said in response to a question on how does she not get discouraged because the number of poor needing help was endless & she couldn't help every single person. So why does she do it? As she walked on the beach amoung the many starfish stranded on the sand, she looked around & explained that while she can't save every living starfish, she can save this one as she picked it off the sand & tossed it back into the sea. To me, this has become my belief that all creatures matter & not to give up hope or do nothing just because we can't save them all. We all have the ability to help/save at least one life. For me it's cats. Legend is a shining beacon of hope & a testament to love. He is a Legend!
