- I'd been giving food to this stray mother cat for a while and she was always coming alone. But then one day, she brought her only kitten to me! It was clear that she wanted me to look after her kitten; because a while later, she went away..

We had the same thing happen: momma brought her 4 kittens. She spent every night with them on our patio. By the 5th night, she was gone. The kittens returned each night, having been taught this is where they are to remain during the night for safety. Momma showed up a few days later, but now she was very aggressive towards them. Heartbreaking. She was pregnant again and somehow knew she was going to turn on her own kittens, so made sure they knew where to be at night in order to remain safe and fed. Those kittens are now a permanent part of our crew of cats and we even caught and got momma fixed. She suffers seizures, so she’s on medicine and no longer goes outside. We built a 500 sq ft cat kennel-your videos here gave me the idea-so no all her litters (she had 3 before we finally caught her) live here. We have 12 cats. All are fixed, have their shots, etc. See what you’ve done? Lol!
I wonder if she didn't so much turn against her kittens, but was letting them adamantly know that it was time for them to be on their own and no longer dependent on mommy.
I hope there is more good and kind heart people toward animal like you..may god bless you...
From Malaysia with love
You are wonderful 💓I've done cat rescue in the past. Wish I had funds to do it now
@@annastarr2043 she has her mum's tail . Such a sweet story and what wonderful people who care for them .
Perhaps such beautiful kindness is "infectious" . How wonderful to see that there are some people who are so virtuous as you all are! On behalf of all the animals you have rescued, I thank you most sincerely.
The kitten mother clearly knew best place to take her only baby was to you. She knew kitty would be taken care of for life🐾💖

Obviously
I use to live in Virginia before I moved down to Florida. We had a orange tabby kitten show up at out door alone and so she joined the crew of strays that ate on our back deck everyday. Then a few years ago she got pregnant and had a single kitten of her own, under our front porch. She raised that kitten to know where to go to get fed and water and make friends with the other strays on our back deck. But it was fun watching Lucky the mommy cat raise Baby her kitten. She moved on to find her next baby's daddy before we could get her fixed. She was semi feral.
In your first shots of her I thought "She looks like a lynx!" She is gorgeous. So sad about her pelvis but you saved the day as usual. You are truly an angel on earth. I'm guessing her first friend is...PJ!
Actually "vasak" means lynx in Turkish. Her name suits her very well : D

I was so happy when you said you adopted her! She is so beautiful and has been through so much with her injury. So good to see her walking well and so healthy!
Being given her kitten by a mother cat is an impressive honor.
She knew the right guardian angels for her baby.
Huge honour 🎖 wow they're both so beautiful 😍

Yes. She trusts you. Animals know good people.
lol "given" nah man when kittens get old enough to live on their own mama usually bounces. They don't feel maternal instinct in the same way humans do.
With all of the negative vibes around the world, this is my "happy place". I can watch your videos and escape from this crazy world and smile more. Thank you Walter for sharing your beautiful friends with the rest of us!
The same for me. It was worth waiting for!
😁Yes!💐
Thanks, but Walter is his dog's name.
Perfectly said
Same.
She looks like my boy kitty I named Tigger. I found him in our apartment courtyard and he was about the same age. He was meowing so loud it sounded like screaming all night, I tried to catch him but couldn't. It was two weeks of putting out food, playing with a stick and petting him as he would run past us before he let his guard down. I brought him inside one night then the next day let him out brought him back in that night and the next day he didn't want back out. The neighbors said they thought it was his mother that had been run over by a car. Hence the screaming that first night. I've had him now for 10 years. My love bunny.
As a cat lover in Scotland, I find your vlogs very relaxing and calming. Thank you so much. Its great to see the play and interaction between the cats and you. Thank you for what you do.
Momma, like all mom's everywhere, knew she wanted her daughter to have a better life than she. So, she brings her across the street to you. Smart momma.
Word is getting out among the cats of your neighbourhood that this is the place to go!
With Indy's help. The mother must have hacked Indy's phone.
@@deniseadkins2901 this was funny indeed 😹. But who knows?

I love these stories. They are so well put together and so relaxing to watch. Thanks for all your hard work creating these and looking after your colony.
I love these videos, too: so beautifully done and so engaging.
Also, I agree with Lauralyn Dickson (commenter above)---given so much distressing news, these videos offer a comforting respite. Thank you. Always delightful.
I love the fact that you took the time and care to get them to a vet and have them spayed as well. You are a beautiful person for taking care of all of these cats.
Vasak's mom knew EXACTLY what she was doing by bringing her baby to you. She knew her kitten would be fed/watered and cared for. Happily, her trust was not misplaced. Thank you.
It's absolute trust that her babies would be taken care of by this human. That's a trust that has to be fulfilled
Proof that most animals are good at being able to sense if people are trustworthy or not. Had two dogs like that, both were usually friendly to most people (sometimes cautious at first, but would warm up to most strangers quickly), and only became aggressive towards those who we learned later were either not so nice, or who had severe mental/emotional problems. Our pitbull mix we had really hated anyone who smelled of drugs or alcohol.
It’s a better day for having a new Walter Santi video. ❤️
Yes, feeling that, too.
Indeed!
Looking forward for that day😊

I don’t think there’s a better situation in the entire world for a stray kitten to wander into. Wow these cats are so blessed!
I just watched the news and really needed this. May the power of cats heal us all. Vasak is helping already (that TAIL!! And Mom's squeak-meow! 😍) Vasak is so sweet to and polite with the other cats. This made me feel more positive today.
This channel has really helped me a lot in the last years. The people behind it make not only amazing long form videos, but also do so much to help their community, cats and humans both. It makes me believe again in the strength of kindness and education, in taking on one small thing and making it something much larger in its connection to us all. This channel has made us all invisibly connected, and sometimes I can sense that fine mesh. Just feeling that can help me to find the light in the darkest of days.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you to the kind people behind these videos. Thank you as well to all the wonderful people that watch and support this channel who have helped make this a community of compassion.
Chin scratches to you all!!
😊
I highly suggest stop watching the news. I look at the headlines at the beginning of the day but that's it. I don't immerse myself in it as that is the road to a bad place.
Vashak is a beauty ❣️ Her momma’s lil squeak meow is adorable too. I’m so happy Vashak is healed and living her best life with you and the other kitties 🙏🏻💙💜💛🧡❤️💚💗🤍
I agree 👍🏻 the mommy's squeak is precious 💖
She is a beauty for sure. Huge, bright eyes and an amazing fur color and pattern.
Somehow I seemed to have missed a lot of the story here. Such a cute kitty.
Sweet face with lovely eyes, beautiful markings, has a lucious lion's mane, and a really fluffy and long tail! I'm truthfully very glad that you kept her...
Right ?! I would call the mommy “mouse “!
She's gorgeous! And I can't get over how mobile she is, able to jump and run, without a ball joint on her femur!
Basically what happens is the muscle keeps the bone in place and without the ball joint it "floats" in position-- just as usable as long as the muscle is intact.
Thank you so much for adopting her. I cried because I was so glad to see she has a good home now and all the love she needs. ❤
I am so happy she's doing well. Friends will come. Takes time for kitties. When they commit, it's for life.
Yesterday I had to say goodbye to my 15 year old baby boy, Elf. I adopted him when he was a kitten, and was my best buddy.
What a comfort it was to have a new video from you this morning, and learn the story of little Valak and the happy ending of her story from the worlds kindest cat man. It made me smile for the first time.
I miss my Elf but it feels good being reminded that goods things happen because of people like you.
Sorry for your loss, Ben. Hugs.
So sorry for your loss I lost my beloved tiggy who got run over by a car he was 10 and he was like my baby I miss him very much but I also have another cat called Ollie who I also love very much
Condolences at the loss of Elf❤️
I know it hurts but you are blessed to have had him in your life, the love is eternal, it doesn't go away, stay strong and remember the good times. Wishing you peace and strength.
Sorry for your loss, Ben. We always will have our fur babies in our hearts.
"I don't want to take another cat to front yard"... Weeks/moths later... "We adopt her!" 😂 You are the best person in the world! She is gorgeous 😍
Gracias, Senor! You, your parents, Walter, and the feline gangs have a very special place in my heart ❤️
This is just heartwarming!! Thank you for taking care of these kitties. I cried when she broke her pelvis! I thank God for people like you! My Mum's cat had her pelvis broken (she came to my mum after living that way for 8 yrs) and Madeline was too old ti have the surgery they told her to fix it. That poor girl couldn't stand up straight and had bowl issues. She was a sweetheart and after my Mum passed she came to me. She's with my Mum now. Thank you so much for loving these kitties and getting them help!!! God bless you for taking them to the vets!!!! I have 7 indoor rescue kitties. They have a room dedicated to them and catio for their need of outdoor time (we have ground and air predators) so sadly your fence solution wouldn't work for us. I love that they have trees and plants and dirt to run and play! Thank you for sharing their lives with us! I always look forward to your videos!!!
The mother cat is wise to decide who can be trust and able to take care her kid and ensure her safety and happiness. She made the right choice!
Smart mum, she couldn't choose better place for her baby. 😻
Vasak is absolutely gorgeous! She is the exact image of our Maine Coon cat Shark. Sadly, we lost him on May 31, 2022. He was one of the sweetest cats I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. As soon as I saw Vasak, I knew she would also be a long haired beauty. Just like Shark. She is very lucky to have you. Looks like mom knew just where to take her daughter to for the very best care.
Vasak’s 🐱 absolutely gorgeous, 💖 gorgeous 💖 coloring, eyes, fluffy tail, fur, even her whiskers!!! She has a charming playful personality as well - thanks 🙏🏻 to you. 🐾
What a beautiful floof! The spots and stripes marking her skin was exceptional as well. Mama's a beauty too. Glad you got her fixed.
That's something I never get anxious about - he neuters all the cats he comes across! He's just fantastic ❣️😁👍🏽
Vasak and her mother have floofy tails. I laughed at the bit where PJ carried off his toy outside. Mine! Mine! Mine!
Being helping and cure other creatures can u see how humans, some of course, are wonderful creatures. 👍🏽😎👍🏽
Thank you so much for giving Vasak such a good home. Her mom knew instinctively where to bring her. Thank you for spaying the mom and stopping the cycle of bringing so many kittens into the world. You are so kind to provide love, food , shelter, and medical help for all your cats. God bless you.
I don’t think there are enough words in cat and human language to express how grateful we all are for what you do. This video was absolutely beautiful, just like Vasak.
An amazing and beautiful world. Thank you for this corner of your world.
Absolutely❤
It makes my heart happy
You and your family and friends are wonderful people. God blessed our society with folks like you. 😇
Seems like the father was a Mainecoon 😆💕The mother and baby is gorgeous. All the stories are so exciting!
Or a squirrel, or a fox, or a Norwegian Forest cat!
With the small ear tufts, big fluffy tail and lack of a pronounced neck ruff, I'm leaning towards Norwegian Forest cat rather than Maine Coon. She's a beauty no matter her lineage.✌️😺
She and her relatives are basic mixed Turkish cats. I really doubt that any of them have a purebred anything in their ancestry. Cat breeds were developed quite recently by selecting from generic cats to fix various traits by inbreeding. Long hair is a trait common in cold areas. There's a longhaired population of cats in the Lake Van area of Turkey from which the Angora and Turkish Van breeds were developed. So Vasak may have an ancestor from that region. Or from the longhaired cats of northern Iran from which the Persian breed was developed. Or from some ship's cat from northern Europe that docked at a Turkish port.
Breeders eventually ruin a breed by selecting for more extreme traits. Maine coons were originally New England barn cats. They were large and long furred to cope with the cold climate. Breeders selected for these traits until now they are so big that they get hip dysplasia like big dogs, and can't look after their fur on their own unlike their recent ancestors. Persians have been bred for such flat and even indented faces that their tear ducts are crushed and they have breathing problems. Their fur needs constant attention. The original Persians had somewhat short but normal snouts, they were large framed cats, and they could maintain their own fur without help.
I could go on. Some of the more recent breeds are based on a recent mutation. Scottish fold is the same mutation that results in Ehler-Danlos syndrome in humans, a painful and disabling condition. Munchkin is the same mutation as achondroplastic dwarfism in humans. Someone in the US is trying to establish a breed called 'twisty cats'. These poor animals have a mutation that causes the front legs to be so deformed that they can only walk on their back legs. So cute, this person believes, but so cruel.
Anyhow, I could keep ranting. All my cats are and have been local, random bred. Even the longhaired one can maintain his lush coat himself without matting or hairball problems. They are reasonably intelligent and have their natural cat instincts intact. We got them as adults needing homes, and they are a pleasure to live with.
End of rant!
@@b.a.erlebacher1139 Wow! That was great. You can 'rant' all you wish with me when it comes to cats. All six of mine are my favorite 'breed', Rescue. Before she knew about breeders, my Mom bought 2 Siamese cats that were 'rejects' for pedigree and show cats. Bien (pronounced Ben) and Phu (foo) Cat, both named for Vietnamese towns, (Dad was incountry at the time) which Mom knew from Dad's letters. Bien died in '76 due to leukemia, and Phu lived to be 19. We always had a kitty in the house, but never again from a breeder. My Toby-san (everyone's friend) is now 17, and came to me from a riverbank. My others are younger, but all came from bad situations or the street.
I wish people would leave breeding to the cats...Munchkins and so on are adorable, but the a--- that did it gave them physical issues that cause pin and shortens their lifespan. Anything like that, the folds, the twisted cats you mention ....gods, what is WRONG with people? ... all are just doomed to painful and shorter lives.
Sorry, but you got me going. LOL I'm a crazy cat lady, and I love my kitties. All kitties.✌️😺
@@b.a.erlebacher1139 PS, about the ship’s cat docking in ancient Constantinople, etc: I was reading just recently about the fascinating practice, in Bronze Age Crete, of importing cats from Egypt to use in hunting for waterfowl. (Can you imagine the training sessions!!)
But you made me imagine further, picturing ancient vessels leaving highly trained retriever kitties dotted around the far easterly Mediterranean seas and up even in Troy, and whose beautiful legacy now gambols gaily in this safe haven.
(Tales around the campfire with Mr Feast, the wily warrior.)
What a beauty! I love how PJ was like, “Stop touching my stuff” hahaha! I lost my kitty a year ago. I miss her. These videos really make me happy.
Thank you for giving each and every kitty cat a brand new life.
I appreciate your efforts very much.
Last year I had 27 kitty cats and 4 dogs, 17 kittens born a month and half apart , and their parents plus some elders, it was chaotic yet memorable, very special times in my life
That mother is no fool. She seen what a good life your kitties have, so she wanted the best for her kitten! Just like a Mother. ♥️ thank you

when the kitten stood up for the first time after surgery I shed a tear of joy. Thank you for helping these precious little ones.
These kitties have it made! They have a wonderful place to live and are so well cared for. Such a kind animal lover.
Awww, I was so happy that you took care of the kitten for so long and sad that you put her in a foster home. But then really happy that she seemed happy in her foster home. I was overjoyed, ecstatic, crying with glee when you adopted her! That "inevitable end" was a cliffhanger... I was afraid to know what came next. Thanks for the happiness in my week!!
Can we all appreciate the time involved on this video? The mama kitty showed up in his garden last year!!! When PJ carried away the fish toy away, at the end of the video, I could just imagine them saying "MINE"!!! By the way, I love the music you included in this video; very relaxing.
I enjoyed the music too. Just a simple guitar.
I agree the music is prefect. 🦋♥️🐈♥️
Oh I thought 💭 the music 🎼 🎵 was definitely a nice touch!!
Oh yes, I know from own experience: it's so easy to say no more stray cats. But it's pretty hard to realize it 😂. Such a fluffy beauty! 💕 Mommy promised her:" You'll have a better life than me!" like any other loving mother!
My partner was caring for a couple of stray cats at her house. A night before a big storm, they brought their kittens (two females, two litters) to her house. One of them was in such bad condition, she thought he might die. But thankfully all 7 kittens survived and found homes, some with us, some with family and friends. The two mommas are now indoor kitties, spayed and happy. It's such an amazing thing when a feral cat recognizes you as a safe place and chooses you, especially for her kittens. I think the other cats we have rescued must have sent out letters to their friends or something! Maybe yours have done the same!
you're an actual saint Walter I'm so glad those kitties are in your hands I know they're sooo happy !
Mom was so thin when she brought Vashak to you, but when she visited after the next litter, she looked better. So glad you got her spayed! I love seeing all the kitties around your house, and love the photos on the walls of their room and your professional grade videos. I was saddened when the text read "and then the inevitable day came", and I was laughing at the ending! Thank you for sharing!✌️😺

I just can't help but sitting here constantly smiling while watching your new video. You never stop being awesome ❤️
I can't believe how friendly all of your cats are towards new ones.
I think a large part of the reason for that is that they are very well cared for. They know there will always be ample room and food for everyone, so there is no need to be overly defensive or territorial. Surely there will be minor skirmishes from time to time, but there is no way to avoid that, having a dozen cats or dogs. They fight a bit, and then they calm down and eat dinner together.
I love your work. This video brought tears of joy to me. That mother cat knew her baby would be safe with you. A very intelligent Mum. Blessings to you for your great heart of love for these poor fur babies. They would live short, painful lives if it wasn’t for your care & love. This world definitely needs more people like you. 💞
They know a good soul. We don’t understand cat but they communicate.
Oh, precious kitty. She reminds me of my lost cat for the similar fur patterns, facial structure and expression too, he was a stray much smaller when I took him in. Thank you for taking care another baby. Glad she's okay now. Her meows and her mommy's are adorable.
I love your cats' biographical stories. Thank you for all you do for all these creatures! I enjoy watching all your videos. :)
She looks just like the kitten we found, lost, blind and wandering the streets in Coney Island (NY) in May. Both eyes crusted shut and her nose was crusted and she could hardly breathe. After a lot of washing, wiping and drying. We got her to the vet the next day. She went through a lot and was not expected to live. She is now thriving and running the house and her three older siblings! I thought of your videos as we went through the challenges.
Vasak grew up beautiful, she does look like a Lynx!. Her mother is so sweet, looks like barely more than a kitten. Thanks for helping them and ending the vicious reproductive cycle.
As I was watching her be sent to a foster home I was sad but at the same time I understood that you already had too many cats. And when you said "the inevitable end" I thought the foster parents fell in love and kept her. But I almost cried when I recognized the cat house and your place. I'm glad you kept Vasak ♥️
It always brings happy tears to my eyes…not only the facts that you took her in, but the way you tell the story. We’ll done! 👏👏👏👏

I was wondering if she might join the inside gang, as Santi was looking curious about her when she was on cage rest, but she seems to be thriving outside. Gorgeous cat!

Thank you for your podcasts they are so special - lots of love from South Africa - Bravo Vasak welcome to the Santi family !!!
You tell the most wonderful stories!
Like so many others I just want to thank you for all the delight, delicious moments and learning about cats you have brought into our lives! And thank you for the wonderful examples of rescue and
Creating a such an imaginative heaven for these cats. And bringing us to see their individuality and character and including us in the drama of their lives. A most extraordinary series of tales and great music and commentary wonderfully woven together. Thank you! You are an extraordinary person in all you give to both us and the animals!!
It truly amazes me that all these cats can live in harmony like this. I do love the way the story is told, especially the comment about playing with her tail! She has really filled out and is so stunning! Now there are 12, it must be time for a cat calendar!❤️
I don't mean to be that guy, but when it comes to any animal, their basic survival instinct is to survive. And, if they find something that is taken care for them, it only makes sense for them to keep coming back.
Calendar is a great idea! l would buy it.

They must be fighting atleast once...please show one video of their cat fights
The cat man did it again, caring for the helpless. Bravo!!!
Awe, their stories bring me joy every time. Simply beautiful
That's exactly what I needed to see right now, ... thank you so much
Your story-telling never ceases to amaze me, especially how many of your videos take place over long periods of time. I love seeing how the cats grow and change, THANK YOU as always for sharing their lives with all of us! 😻
Beautiful cats.
From the first moment I saw her as a kitten at the beginning of the video, I thought : "Wow, she is so beautiful, I bet PJ would find her gorgeous and they can be a couple or best friends at least!". And when you adopted her, and he was 'shocked' by her looks, I was like "told you so!" :)
PJ was so funny. He didn't want to share his toy fish-:)
Thank you for this lovely story, it shows the mother cat's concern for her little one. Thank you for helping so many kitties. I pray that many, many more humans would have this compassion for their little ones. This shows that adoption is a beautiful option. Blessings.
Awww she is so playful and will enjoy playing with lots of cat toys ❣
Walter, you are so kind. If everyone were like you, this world would be a paradise. Thank you so much for sharing your videos of your cats with the world 🌎
Walter is his dog's name :D The channel is named after his dog and his white cat.
@@kesorangutan6170 we should ask him for his name to not call him dog;s name. Uph.
I don't want to take away your beautiful, underfloor heated cat room, but I would love to have that room - or a copy of it, for ME! (But I would have to share it with my rescue cats and dog, too).
I wish Walter had access to underfloor heated room, now. He is no longer young and winters, especially, he should now be indoors.
No paradise in World while USA warmongers still existing on this planet.
Certainly a beauty !!
Totally thought her story was going to end with an untimely tragic twist - so very relieved when you said you adopted her !!! Teaser !!
She coped well in the intimidating situation of being among all the older buddies.
I too thought so! Then I thought the foster would adopt her....which is great, but we wouldn't see her anymore. Great outcome!!!
Vasak is so gloriously fluffy!
Even as a kitten.
But now she has truly bloomed!😺
That's from all your hard work and love you give to all your wonderful kitties! 😻
PJ is in love with the fluuffyness!
I'm sure after a while he shared his toys with her more! 😺
Thank you SO much for letting us see and learn about your puurrfect little fur family!
It brings joy to my heart and soul watching all your videos, and I cannot wait to see more! 😻💗
Thank you for sharing Vasak's story! I was feeling down and stressed tonight and this story came tin my feed. I am feeling better now. Vasak is truly beautiful! As she is waving her gorgeous tail around she seems to be saying, "see my bootifull" tail guys! None of youse guys got one like this! PJ so cute not sharing and hiding his toy. Loved seeing all the gang. Many thanks! I hope that you, your human family, Walter and all the cat gang are well. Also, thanks for getting Mom cat spayed too!
please never change the genre of music, it is perfect for kitties
Vasak is a beautiful little girl and aptly named. Thank God her mother brought her to your house. That was distressing to learn that she was injured but glad that she recovered - you have a very good vet. A lovely story.
Thank you Walter for giving her a loving home, so many people just dump their cats off in the country and figure they will manage on their own! They don’t even think about the predators that will make things awful for them to stay alive😥🫣😳
Momma looks like a baby herself. Thank you for taking baby and being responsible.
