I have had the pleasure of skating on a natural frozen pond, tramping through Labrador tea coverde in snow in 20 below, finding a small lake hardly anyone has seen and being in the middle of nowhere Northern Ontario, this video gives me that vibe.
I lost my best friend to cancer two weeks ago. A friendship that spanned almost 50 years. I turned him onto Blue Rodeo in the early 90s and he fell in love with this song. It was on the playlist at his funeral. I will never listen to this song the same again without thinking of him. Love and miss you Dave......forever.
A breakup song about how the feeling is sad but the solitude is a welcome change. The writer also had a first hand experience of walking outside watching the lake shore in December and thinking of the same snow falling in the middle of the vast lake. This image is connected to how he feels - somber, lonely, but sort of happy and content with where he is in life.
The point is you made your feelings known, plus, it's a positive comment and that's a great thing, the Internet brings all of us a little closer together, that is the greatest hope we have of lasting as the human race. Whether you are Peruvian or any other place of origin, you will always be welcome to visit and in some instances stay in Canada, most of my Friends are all from other Countries, Canada is proud to have multi-cultural diversity at it's core. One of my most recent Friends, has his Mom who is Sirian and his Dad who is Lebanese, he is a Mechanic, married with 2 kids, with his Brother, who came with his Family when they moved to Ottawa,Ontario,Canada., they make a beautiful Family, I truly enjoy anytime I get to be with these people because it is very easy to see that they all care and Love each other, for me, it does my heart good to be around them, the Love they have for each other is easy for anyone to see, so, it's fun for me to see how they behave around each other, plus, I have tremendous happiness to be able to count them amongst my Friends. That's 1 tiny example of what being alive and living life is really about, at least in my eyes and my way of thinking. Please do consider coming to visit our fantastic Nation, possibly even here in Ottawa, Our Nation's Capital City, there's always something fun to do, in the Downtown Area, there's a Festival for every season, one of my favorites, is the Springtime Festival, from roughly the middle of April until June, called, " The Tulip Festival ", along the Canal Parkway, there are hundreds Of thousands of Tulips planted. Thousands are added every year, as an example, by The Dutch People, to say thank you, for protecting their Royal Family, who were marked for extermination during the last world war, thus, both Countries are gleefully proud of this heritage and adding to the Tulip Display Yearly exhibits that pride of doing the right thing for all of the World to behold and remember. Please Consider Coming To Visit, My Sincerest Best Wishes, from A Proud Canadian, Bob.

When music videos first came out (showing age) I'd get a half hour a day after school and I saw "Diamond Mine" and I have pushed these guys on everyone that will take a listen since then, can't say enough of how this music strikes a chord with me..
A song that impacted me when I was coming of age, but didn't really understand how... and now that I'm 41, I can see what it meant years back. Real emotion and feeling that it extracted from my creative self. Writing and expression has to come from the true self - never manufactured for commercial publicity. Expression of real emotion, and a truly inspirational Canadian band. Love it!

I can never listen to this anymore without crying. It was the last song at my beautiful wife’s funeral service when I said my final goodbye. We seen Blue Rodeo many times together over the years and both loved their music. Thanks for all the beautiful songs and memories.
They started this song at Mile One in St. John's a few years ago but didn't get to sing it, the crowd sang it. Excellent.
I have had the pleasure of skating on a natural frozen pond, tramping through Labrador tea coverde in snow in 20 below, finding a small lake hardly anyone has seen and being in the middle of nowhere Northern Ontario, this video gives me that vibe.
I love their album 5 Days in May and it is my favorite of them all. Viva Blue Rodeo!
Condolences💔 Hope the music helps you heal.
Blue Rodeo and an Alberta Rye,.. an old favorite to blame for how hard it was to get up in the morning
This is such a powerful song to me. It bings me back to my mom. She sang this song . She passed in 2009. This bings back special memories.
Blue Rodeo is one of Canada's best bands and most underrated groups!
This entire album has so many memories attached to it for me...this song is LEGEND to me. Canada's best!
I just discovered Blue Rodeo and I think is awesome! Sorry if my english is wrong, I'm peruvian
the best thing about being Canadian is that I could never truly be a Peruvian but you could always become a true Canadian.
Your English is just fine :) and they are great!
Apelalo never apologize for trying anything especially when you mean well. Only by trying can one learn and improve. :)

Best Canadian band in my eyes. This song was played at a friends funeral. We went to see Blue Rodeo every time they played in Edmonton Alberta. One year ago we laid Marcus to rest while listening to his favorite band. Thank you for the incredible memories ❤️

Michigan Knows)
+Kevinz63 Maine knows, used to get CHSJ out of St. John, N.B. When music videos first came out (showing age) I'd get a half hour a day after school and I saw "Diamond Mine" and I have pushed these guys on everyone that will take a listen since then, can't say enough of how this music strikes a chord with me..
+Kevinz63 Buffalo knows. We like to keep them a secret.
+Kip Palmateer i wonder if anyone in any states that arent touching canada know
Jim Cuddy to Blue Rodeo is like Beer is to a Canadian...
Priceless!
Love it!
My mom used to play this while I was growing up. I don't know if it's because she just retired, but this song and couple other Blue Rodeo songs have been in my head. It's a strange time watching your parents age as you near the age they used to play this song.
I remember listening to this song while I was at sea and thought how awesome it would be to actually see them in person and also to be able to play their songs on guitar. Years later, I saw them in Petawawa years ago and now I can play many of their songs. I love their music :)
One of the most underrated Canadian bands ever. I love these guys.
If you grew up in the "Era of Blue Rodeo" you know how iconic this Canadian based band is
Love them 1000% 👍👌💜 best tunes, can listen to them anytime, anyshere, every one knows all the lyrics. Jim Kuddy your amazingly talented, history will be talking / jamming to about and to you for many moons to come
💙💚💛❤💜
These guys played at our Christmas party in 1993. Incredible. Still have the CD signed by all of them in person!
There's no accounting for taste. I simply love this song. There it is.
I have lived in Canada pretty much continuously since my birth in Picton Memorial Hospital almost fifty-three years ago. Intensely and passionately proud to be a Canadian. This song has been a constant of my adult life. I still get insights listening to it all these years later. Please remember to play it at my funeral.
This is one of my favorite Blue Rodeo songs. Jim Cuddy is very talented. I love how this one is quiet and slow and then become louder and faster.
Hello Nancy how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family
This song and Tragically Hip's "Bob Caygeon" are the two songs I must play repeatedly whenever I'm away from Canada and feeling sentimental.
I was born in Japan, Irish American that likes Canadian Rock .
My dad used to play this song on his guitar when I was young, around 3 or 4. Hearing it now makes me tear up every time. I love my father
I absolutely love this song! So mysterious! A real Canadian winner.
