- A classic BMW from the '80s equipped with all-terrain tires, a welded differential, roll cage, and a day in the beautiful Southern California desert. What could possibly go wrong?
We took this 1987 BMW E30 325is for the drive of a lifetime through all sorts of desert terrain which resulted in a bit of a surprise after a long day of fun.
It all started with an idea, years later this was the outcome. Full video car breakdown, BTS, etc. video coming soon!!

did you guys get that thing over to the Sand Damn ? it looks like u were real close like a few razorbacks and a bowl or 2 away from the Damn. Up there in those high dunes by the transmission towers. That is the best set of dunes down in the Imperial valley, the place is bitchin the wind grooms the dunes real nice . U can score fresh tracks all day and night
Hey Rick! Hell no we didn't! Definitely would have gotten stuck in there hahaha. We had a spot in mind that we were really trying to get to, but ultimately failed trying to get to! Will be making a longer video explaining all of this and more, but yes, 2wd in Superstition resulted in a lot of high RPMs and a lot of tow-strap activities.
2wd at Superstition is a real challenge cause u gotta air down the tires for max traction but there r rocks all over the place so getting a flat tire is just as easy as getting stuck in the sand. Only made it to the sand danm in my old 2wd f150 prerunnrer a handfull of times thru out past 25 yrs and got stuck countless times trying and even blew a transmission where only working gear was reverse.. Had to drive in reverse to plaster city to get towed back to SD. Most fun ever had is after it rains hard for a couple days leaving the usually drylakebed flooded and the dunes become traction city, no tow ropes, shovels, or 4wd necessary
So awesome! Those are some of the best days and memories made right there, gotta love the sand after a good rain.
